Not sure if you know this but the reason why nonexistant victory points show up whenever you build a railway, is because they are present in the localisation file and victory points are localised by giving the province they are in a name. Fordlandia is also a real place built by Henry Ford in an attempt to evade the British rubber monopoly.
Argentine here: all those argentine cities that were added basically hold over 80% of the population outside the main populated area of Buenos Aires The rest are villages from 20 to 1000 inhabitants, and most of the cities that sejozwak mentioned are mostly capitols of the provinces, wich is the equivalent of US's... 2:31 to be completely fair, historical accuracy has never been the strong point of Paradox with hoi4. The game is meant to be fun, with minimal realism. For example: A 10 year old fidel castro used to be the communist advisor in Cuba. Diem is the democratic leader of vietnam despite diem being a dictator, same with Syngman Rhee in South Korea. There's of course the infamous 9 year old Pol Pot in Cambodia, but I feel that's more of an easter egg than anything. Tibet's borders are wrong for what appears to be no reason in particular. and unrelated, but in the 'communism on the rise' decisions category, it calls communism 'democracy', which I initally brushed off on the first time playing as sensible, given that democracy is one of communism's core tenets.
