- Mad dogs and metal detectorists do not often go together, you need to make sure your dog has the correct structure is in place before training starts.
All dogs love to work, but training has to be fun, he needs to think it is a game.

Doing this is like learning the Deus 2 the more time you put in the better it will become. I have always had poodles and they are also a smart breed. Great video I might try this in my yard with Dunkin and see what he does.

Something else we have in common besides Indian MC and Metal Detecting. Years ago I worked and trained with guard dogs G.S. and Rottweilers. Though my last pup was a Jack Russell my kids and grandkids grew up with German Shepherds. We had 5 total. Do you bring them in part for safely? Another awesome vid!

Teach him to dig on comand and on target now that would be something 😮😊😊😊 Great show thanks.here in WA in the bush ,authorities drop poisen baits for wild dogs so we wouldn't take them detecting,seen to many unsuspecting distraught owners loose their best mate to a bait no cure😢

Yes they do shed.
I got the retractable lead from Amazon, just a heads up...it's not strong so only use it if you dog is under control.
If your dog lunges, go for a bigger model.

The problem is a lot of farmers don't like any dogs on their land' luckily I detect on my own land I would not like anyone with a dog to detect in my fields especially where Holstein heifers are they can get very ferocious I enjoy your videos but I thought I'd just need to mention that dogs on Farm Fields would more likely stop you from getting any permission especially around where I live in Shropshire.
