- I made this video just for my friends and fans on RUclips. Thanks to all the guys and gals that have followed my videos and progress on the cars and projects over the years. Your comments and messages have been awesome!! Your support and kind words have really helped me get Kitt to where he is today. This video features my Knight Rider Kitt, and my buddy's KARR project. So you guys asked....and here you go. I hope you like this one. I think it's a good take in the spirit of Knight Rider. Peace all...and thank you again. :-)

The "Kitt" conversion in this video is indeed mine. I didn't buy it. I've spent the last 19 years building it myself from parts I've been acquiring over the years.

I don't "borrow" clips from shows....I make my own vehicles and use those. Anyone can take a clip from a show, and piece it together into a collage.....but do it with your own vehicle, and you own creation, and it becomes something special. Not to mention it keeps the TV studios and Movie Studios layers at bay. LoL
NICE...been a fan since 84'! in 89 i was in the original car at Universal Studio
I thought it was great! Only thing that would've made it better is if KARR had his front nose clear-coated and the the gold eagle decal removed from the hood. In other words looked identical to KITT like on the show when he was unveiled.
I agree with your comments about KARR. However the KARR vehicle in this video is far from complete. He still needs much work. And since this "is" a part three, it kinda goes with the notion the vehicle is already in less than perfect shape. As far as the Firebird emblem on the hood......lemme get back to you on that. :-)

I love this video. KITT VS KARR . I am Addicted right now watching Knight Rider on Netflix . My question is what is the most difficult part to producing a KITT car from stock trans am to full replica .
Thanks for the nice words. I don't thing I could isolate one particular area that is more difficult than the rest. The dash can be rather challenging, but unlike so many others, I didn't hire a company to make the car, or outsource the labor to someone else. I did all of the work myself, and that included fabricating many items that were non existent in the Knight Rider universe until they debuted on my Kitt. Items such as a real working smoke screen, oil slick, and the blue tooth talking feature that allows the car to interact with people around him. :-) My project began in 1994 if that tells you anything. heh heh

The KITT conversion is my personal car that I began back in 1994. The Karr conversion belongs to a close friend that I've been working on for him. And I can't answer the cost question. It's different for everyone. These cars are being built by me by custom conversion pieces. If done by yourself, you save a ton of money....if you hire a conversionist to do them for you, it can more than triple the cost. :-)
No shit really? I guess I've spent too much time assembling 50 thousand dollar Knight Rider replicas to appreciate the value of these machines. Perhaps if you'd like to donate your own car, I'd be happy to blow it up for you for real to better suit your expectations.

I've seen the apps for the smart phones and they too are pretty sweet, but that's not how these cars are communicating. Look for my video on my channel here called "Knight Rider Tech Toys" and you'll see just a few of the ways I make the cars talk. :-)
Do you think you can have KARR apologize to KITT? After all they are technically brothers.

is KARR scanner Halogen or LED?
No problem. :-) Kitt is a mix between a 84 Trans Am and an 85 Firebird. The "Karr" in this video is an 82 Trans Am.
Thank you....and when you have made as many videos as I have like these......they tend to get easier and easier. This was not a labor intensive or time intensive project. Just a little something thrown together. :-)

that was awesome. in the 2 kitt vs karr episodes I wish there would have been more dialogue between the two. in kitt vs karr kitt and kart didn't talk to each other only Michael did

The Karr Scanner in this video is from Lectric Enterprises. You can find them through a google search or on any Knight Rider message board. :-)

Hey man...have you ever been ticketed or gotten stopped for having that light on your car? I have a night raider red LED light scanner I had installed on the front of my car (similar to KITT) on my 2012 Red Honda Civic Si and it's inside the grill near the ground just like KITT and I've been ticketed once for it...judge threw it out thinking I had it removed and a 2nd cop stopped me last week and gave me a warning. I didn't think it was illegal b/c it's red and not blue. You had any problems?

+squall600 Yep. He also reprized the role of KARR in the NBC series remake in 2009. Ironically enough for some reason they had KARR 'transform' in that episode.
Too bad KITT didn't transform. WWE would've paid big to get the pay per view rights. xD

Like you guys. I love the original series. IN that time no computer effects were used as poorly as today. I hate 2 second shots and those were made from computer as well. I dont hate computer effects. What i hate is the noobism in the industry.

I gotcha. :-) However, the Firebird and Trans Am that first debuted in 1982 had those exact wheel covers on them. If you look at them closely, they have the Pontiac emblem in the center...but they are black so they're hard to see. But yes....those wheel covers came stock on the 82 Trans Am, then Knight Rider adopted them to use on their base model of Kitt. :-)

My Kitt is actually a cross between a 1984 and an 85 model. :-)
It's not from an episode, or the "made for TV movie" called Knight Rider 2000. It's from a DVD that was made along time ago. "Knight Rider Bloopers"
This would have been totally awesome if the KARR replica was completed. No shots of the inside would suggest that it did not have a custom dash and electronics. Also the front bumber was not painted. Smh
Karr wasn't completed. Let's just say, I work a little faster than my friend does. And these cars are not cheap or easy to complete. Some just find it a bit more challenging then others. Mine has been around since 1994 and i have nothing but respect for people who attempt these conversions. It's probably one of the most challenging star cars to duplicate.

It's not on anything my friend. It's source is still a mystery even to me. While I'm sure there was an "official" Knight Rider Bloopers DvD made, the only ones I've ever seen have looked rather "home made." Basically it consists of captured original footage of behind the scenes, out takes, and what Kitt really looks like when he lands from a jump. LoL. Also, most of the video is narrated by Bill Daniels, aka..KITTs voice. If you wanna know more, message me. :-)

W44F Sure enough. :-) In Karr's season 1 apperance, (Trust Doesn't Rust) it was indeed Peter Cullen. In season 3 however, (Kitt vs Karr) it was done by Paul Freese. I really liked Peter Cullen, but Paul Freese had a much more cynical sound to his voice. :-)

Always wondered what made that raring sound the second time he came back.
It "is" illegal in all 50 states of the US to drive with any kind of forward flashing red or blue lights. Period.
It is not illegal to have the light there, and use it for shows, displays, or special events. But if you're gonna drive down the highway with it on, you WILL get ticketed for it, make no mistake. They use to give me all sorts of hell for it...but not anymore. Between my Kitt, and the Ecto 1 I built, they know I'm a theme car guy, so they let it slide. :-)
