  • I had this clicking that I noticed in the front end of my Plaid. I thought it was coming from the Unplugged Front Upper Control Arms.. turns out that it wasn't! Check out what the root cause ACTUALLY was.. so strange.

Follow up with high temp grease dabs and some on the center hub as well to prevent rust since moisture tends to accumulate under the center cap during washes. The grease won’t drip out in the heat, is designed for bearings, so it’ll prevent corrosion and last a long time.

Had the same clicking sound on my Model S 2023 with 19'' wheels.
Did the same, and it´s solved!! Amazing

Thanks for the video. My newly picked up 2023 model s with only 400km now has the similar clicking noise. Everything is original from the factory and TELSA service will take a look at it in a few days. Hopefully they can figure it out.

Will try this, I have original wheels and haven’t taken off my wheels yet and do not track the car.

I get the same kind of Click from the front of my Chevy Volt and I keep thinking it sounds like metal fatigue click I bet that would remedy my problem to have to take it apart and find out.

Hi, have you fix the problem after 1 year use ?

Mines making almost the exact same noise. Took wheels off. Cleaned everything, been to service 3 times and they changed my axles drivers side. Then passenger. Then both on the third visit so I’ve had 3 axles on both sides and can’t solve it. Is yours still fine after a year now???

How much have you driven after the cleaning? Has it come back? I had similar issue with my GT350 and it was the 2 piece rotors with the wheels, just like yours.
Haven't that that issue with the Plaid. Let's see.

I’ve driven probably 300 miles since I did the fix, sound has not returned, this is with aftermarket unplugged performance two piece Carbon ceramic brakes, I swap the wheels often for track events, next track event is October 7-9

Let me give you advice. Constant clicks is from lugs nuts. Loud clicks from forward and back is rusted axle spline. I use project kics lug nut for constant torque.. and btw you don't need 120lbs. I own model s for years and track it also. You don't need all those fancy sponsor unplugged overrated fanboi.. my steel rotor with hawks dtc70 and endless fluid can out brake your ceramic lol.

You sound pretty confident with your brake science:
come on out to Utah Motorsports and hit the track with me and put your brakes to the Test- I’ll Document it and make a video.
