When i played i expected a bit darkness but not that 99% of all npc in Elden Ring litterly die. Why become Elden Lord when everyone else is already dead xD

No one was in there except for Roderika and good ol Hewg, who just got his memory erased too.
People just come and go.
It's so sad that the journey to take the throne is so lonely lol

The saddest thing about this quest is that it still continues after you spoke to him crying about Irena.
Yeah, I'm doing a blind playthrough as a part of my tradition from all the soulsseries, I got spooked when the invasion happened lmao
To be honest I hate this questline so much, cause it went so deep and it drives me insane. I would warn anyone that playing it right now to ignore this questline altogether until New Game+ cause it will makes you hate on so many NPCs in the game.
@@birifumi then it does its job, making you feel things and make you invested...also from games^^. There is rarely a storyline quest that end happily, it is kind of their theme.

Nah this questline is very much like a souls games. Its a common trick to have questlines end in tragedy. However, given how this one had such disciplined and clear theming. I feel Georgie has actually assisted in lvling the team's writing technique. Since before it was rather obtuse and jank and often uses tragedy for its own sake than putting real meaning into it. Like look! The character in this story actually has a character arc! Its so nice that the fromsoft team are now able to fking write at a very basic level now. Its great!
Remember Ina, we need the man alive for him to write A Song of Ice and Fire book 6 and 7

Am I the only one who just never feels anything in these quests? Something about the way From executes them is just totally devoid of any emotion or attachment. It's like a drama written entirely by aliens who never experienced human emotion.

Not only did a father lose his daughter, I’m also stuck with a sword I am far from being able to wield, it’s depressing!

Sad questline is always one of the soul theme isn't it.

ds3 : "please kill me ashen one , i did not need to see" after you going around looking for her eye balls
Death is mostly the happiest end of every souls game NPC.
You even have to kill some of them with your own hands to complete the questlines

Honestly, Gascoigne's quest hit me harder than this one. Finding out she would have been safe if the player never spoke to her absolutely broke my heart.

@@kyzvero3843 i cant believe i somehow skip both of their quest :)). I never met Raini and i only met Blaidd at Radahn battle. I now know i can met him at the ruin but he no longer there when i snap my finger.
Ranni's questline is a roller coaster of emotions
bold of you to assume she'll be able to find him, haha. I had to look up where he was like two different times
It took me 120 hours to explore every piece of elden ring on my first play through but it's ok Bcz I got ranni's ending without looking anything up (didn't ride the horse except a few areas I needed to jump)

Luckily Hanbei doesn't have that much lines for him.

After the last scene showed in this video, head to "Revenger's Shack", on the upper part of middle-west Liurnia Lakes.

You will also find a corpse of a monster near the shack. Pressumably the one who killed the girl.
Inside the shack you find corpses that clearly aren't Misbegotten implying that his quest for revenge made him go mad and start killing indiscriminately.

This is Ina's actual introduction to Souls games.
When I did this quest, I thought I'll end up finding her father is dead by the time I get to Castle Morne. So when I got there I was surprised to see him still alive. Then I returned to Irina and my words were "I knew this wasn't going to end on a happy note, classic fromsoft".
yeah the second i saw him alive i knew she was gonna die.

It doesn't end there. Since you kill Misbegotten, and he couldn't take his revenge, then he goes crazy and tries to kill you instead. I f-ing love this game.
In my play through he kill misbegotten, since i summoned him and let him had the last hit

and the thing he drops further strengthen the link between Irina and Hyetta, which makes his questline even more sad (if you believe in the link between Irina and Hyetta...)
@@whitezerom I don't think there's a genuine link between them, except for the fact that the "grapes" can make a person see, and it just so happens that they're both blind.

Another Blind NPC that suspiciously looks like her and sounds like her under a different name is walking around
And is implied later in the game to be Irina's possessed corpse.

I actually didn't meet patches until I was like 70 and had to go look for him, I accidently killed him on my follow up and ended his quest prematurely 😓
Patches is perfectly trustworthy according to the armor i stole from his dead body after he tricked me.

@Martin Toledo Nope miyazaki interview confirmed the extent of grrm's involvement. Just the lore before the start of the game and item descriptions. Also all the finger stuff. But that one's just conjecture, since the man loves his fingers.
But yeah, thisnpc questlone is one miyazakis writing team.
@Martin Toledo nah, the likely chances no cause godrick grafted people not unlikely that he cant grafted tge sword too and if we take jnto consideration how little really big colossal sword in this game. Tge grafted sword is more likely to be a coincident than a reference
For those who think the surprise invasion is the end of it, a character named "Hyetta" makes sure that's not the case in the most fucked up way all the way through. Sad grapes all around.
An audience of a billion have already wanted a word with GRRM for the depressing fates he happily spun.
GRRM only created the general lore of Elden Ring, the concepts and whatnot. From made the individual quest-lines and characters

I thought she was tricked by her sister to go into the sewers and got eaten by the pig? When you give the ribbon back to her sister, you find out that she wanted that ribbon for herself.

It could really be worse. She could have been turned into a creature and then you unknowingly kill her get her soul and then you talk and then report that you have begrudgingly slain her due to her monsterized nature. That's a whole heck lot of weight to bear upon your shoulders.

When I saw her name was Irina and that she was a blind runaway, I immediately thought of the Heroic Legends of Arslan who has a similar character. Makes me wonder if there is a legend both stories are taking inspiration from?

I was aware of what happened to her from a spoiler somewhere... so I kinda took it upon myself to deliver the letter and... deliver him to the afterlife to meet her... it’s definitely not the best thing I could have done but, I’m using his halberd and it’s been the best weapon available to me for a long while so there’s gotta be some sense of justice there somewhere
You miss out on the two branching storylines that continue from this quest if you kill either of them before they are meant to die.
Lee Chartier eh... I’ll check it out in new game +, I’ve just been playing how I felt was right, I mean I skipped like half of Ranni’s quest without even knowing because I killed Radahn really early
