- Peterson Academy has launched its beta website for pre-enrolled users! many are still receiving their access but I have been in for close to a day now, so I'm sharing my thoughts! So far, so good!

I waited for days for an email, turns out, it was marked as spam. Really looking forward to this, I got kicked out of pragerU almost 6 years ago.
4:05 👏👏👏👏 THAT is one excellent idea. I know that the teachers are professionals with busy schedules…however, it would have been ideal for the Academy to have some staff to act as moderators- tutors- guides. Otherwise, those groups might end up like Reddit or other social media groups that will either get unfocused or turn into informal chat groups. I totally appreciate that people (unlike myself) need some small chat, but the platform is one of learning and brewing innovative ideas to change the world, therefore some parameters and very finely attuned guidance from non- bossy people with knowledge and pedagogical skills are extremely important, in my opinion.
I'm a bit dissatisfied with the quizzes. I don't feel like they really serve to enhance my understanding of the lecture. The questions are basic and contain some errors
Me too, I think limited and didn’t serve as proper homework from a proper university
The Teaching Company is a much, MUCH better version of this. Way more content and way, WAY cheaper.
@@caine2778 I haven't taken many of the quizzes, but I did see a question that seemed like it had multiple correct answers, but only one of them was explicitly stated in the lecture. What kind of errors are you seeing?
What I did was paste the lecture transcript into ChatGPT and ask it to generate me 20 quiz questions on the main ideas in the lecture. Then I provide it with my answers and ask it to review how I did and correct my mis-undersatnding.
I found this to be far more challenging and the questions were a lot more useful for reviewing the lecture content.
I’d be down to help with docs. I usually write that kind of stuff on notecards or on my website that I keep up with if I want to be able to reference or share it at any time.
Is there suggested reading offered? Seems a bit passive just to listen to lectures

I didn't think my email had come through but it turns out it went to junk / spam - so just have a look for those who haven't got it yet.
What about username culture, are people using their real names or aliases? Privacy is extremely important to me but I don't know what the culture is in PA. If I'm going to be a zebra I might as well be in a herd.
@@NeuroPulse You have to put down your real name when you join the site. Theoretically you could put down a fake name. You don't have to put your picture in there if you don't want to. It is supposed to mimic a real school experience, so real names is probably important.

I have seen posts on the site saying that there will be reading lists eventually, if im remembering correctly
