First off, this is a great video, you are one of the leading channels in electronic scooters. I just don’t understand how you got only 24MPH? Mine easily hits 28MPH. And all of them should hit 26MPH. Many people who test the wide wheels top speed, test it under 50v. Charge it to 54v+ and then change it to ludicrous mode. Than you should be going 26+ MPH! To change software Hole down one brake lever, cruise control, and power button at the same time. Than go click power button once to turn on P1, 01. And to set it click and hold both power and cruise control.
Yup, good point about the speed test, we were definitely in ludicrous mode. I think the rider weight and conditions can easily account for a few mph difference. 28 mph is easily doable downhill for example, but not on flat ground for me. Still a good little scooter.
Alien Rides, the savior of the East Coast scooter riders. And we are getting some serious cabin fever out here omg lol. Have you done this with a Dualtron X, I know it would make it just wonder how fast.
Hah yeah, Dualtron X would rocket up this hill quickly, not sure at what speed though, I'll have to test it :) Why cabin fever? Bad weather out there now? :(
@@AlienRides Too dang cold to ride with the wind hitting you, even in the high 50s it feels cold, but the 30s would be brutal. Or maybe I'm a col weather wuss...I have started to considered that. lol
I was thiiiis close to getting a wide wheel pro, but ended up going for a e-twow GT because it's almost HALF the weight. I have to carry it up 4 floors of stairs for work making it also easier to carry in shops, too.
EUCs are awesome vehicles for sure, and this year is a great year to get into them. I like to ride everything and will do videos on everything in the future.
Hot damn, that has to be the steepest city hill I ever seen. Has a unicycle ever made it up the hill? If so, which one(s)? Oh yeah, that drone footage is fabulous.
It’s steep! You can make it to the top on an EUC, I’ve done it on both my Nikola and monster. I’m searching for a more steep hill now that we’ve conquered this one!
Widewheel pro should come with semi pneumatic tires on 2021 so it can go off-road too. They should upgrade the light and brakes to hydraulic or regen. It’s almost at its max potential for its price. Hopefully next year they will make some changes. There’s so much you can do with a scooter, but every plus you add, create a negative. And every negative you add creates a positive.
Great video.I travelled on that street.Too much of a wide wheel has more friction thus less speed specially uphill.Have you tried narrower wheels uphills? Also uses more battery power. Thank you,see you again.
That’s a good question, I feel that the Speedway V suspension might be a bit more stiff, but overall might be more smooth thanks to the pneumatic tires.
Hello, it's possible to get a google maps link to the city climb you used for the test. Im curious about the real % of incline of that street. Thank you
i have been hoping someone will test the dualtron thunder up a hill like this at top speed. that hill is a good hill for scooter tests. i am getting the dualtron this spring.
The Dualtron Thunder is a beast and will rocket up steep hills. Maybe not at 50, but 25-35 mph depending on grade. I've got a Thunder and will try to do some hill climb videos in the future. You're going to love your scooter!
@@AlienRides Thanks for the answer! The fact is that in Italy electric scooter to be allowed to go in public streets must have a 500w motor so I fear I could have some issue with it, that's why I was asking.. Thanks anyway!
hey i just got a ninebot ES4. it’s not fast enough though for me at 18mph and a single motor just isn’t enough. i’m not trynna break the bank and go in the 3s yet. so anywhere from 1k-1.6k would be enough.
Yeah getting a scooter is dangerous because there's always a faster or bigger one to get 😅 I think the WideWheel pro could be a good option for you, great power for the price.
I'll see if we can do that! The Speedway V would absolutely rip up the hill no problem because it's even more powerful than the WideWheel, but it would be a fun video to make.
It's a bit hard to customize e-scooters, especially the handlebars, but doable if you are handy. Best place to start might be bike accessories. You can attach most to the handlebars.
The earlier generations of this scooter got me into personal EVs. I was excited to buy one, but eventually got lured away from the idea by an EUC. I am happy with the decision I made, but I still think the Mercane Wide Wheel is a terrific looking scooter!
Hey, I know they are different, but which one would you recommend. I ride a motorcycle around the Bay Area and San Francisco. However, sometimes I take the Shared scooters to get around the neighborhood in SF. I work about 1,8 miles from work. I’ve been thinking about the onewheel for the longest time, but then I saw the widewheel, I was impressed. Which one to get? - I need to be able to fit it on my motorcycle - I want to be able to get quickly around the neighborhood - sometimes take it to work - and when I travel I’d like to take it with as well I’ve taken the lime scooter from the Marina District to Financial district without any issues fitting between traffic downtown. I wonder, could I do it on the onewheel as well?
Scooters are really awesome for sure, but I'm not sure about fitting it on your motorcycle. I do think that a onewheel could get you around most trips around town, but personally I'd actually recommend an electric unicycle. Probably the most power in a small package you can find. What do you think about the EUCs? Bit of a learning curve, but we can help.
@@AlienRides they are on backorder and won't be shipped till Oct 20...must be a prized possession??? wow!! I want both scooter and Skydio 2 now. thanks for the review, best one yet!!!
How did the folding handlebars feel when riding, returned the one I bought the wife due to 1 of the bars disengaging and dropping down.It is an awesome 2 wheeler though.Nice weather ✌️
That's unfortunate about the handlebars. Mine felt ok, but I only rode this scooter for a few days so far. I did notice that the handlebar locking mechanism didn't feel the most sturdy when you unfold them. I sort of looked at them and said, "that's it?". No issues with the short period of time I rode it for though. Still dreaming and being antsy about the SSR 🤤.
I think it is a pretty good scooter, but it is a bit jerky. You are a bit heavier, so something like the apollo ghost or kaabo mantis might be a better choice for you. :alienRides:
I have been riding this this whole past week! I have a few questions for you: 1: does 2020 pro have a ludicrous mode? 2: how do you go on cruise mode? 3: the California street ride, was that on power mode?
There is a speed mode, the apollo guys did a good video of enabling it, I think they talk about cruise control also: ruclips.net/video/6SR_a9jwHWI/видео.html For my test, the speed setting was maxed.
Good questions, I haven't tried the pacer, but at a glance it seems that the WideWheel will have higher torque due to two motors and be able to climb hills better, while the pacer might have a bit of a higher top speed. The pacer would have air-fillted tires, making it more of a smooth ride compared to the WideWheel. Both seem like they could be great scooters.
Onewheel is amazing gadget. I regret it zero percent. I have both the XR and pint. But make no mistake, the XR is great for trails, and the pint is amazing for everyday use “locally”. They are not good commuters in my opinion. I can’t imagine a life without my Onewheel but I wouldn’t like to use it as a commuter unless my work was under 4-5 miles
@@sidjtd....I meant Wide Wheel, but yes XR and Pint look amazing. I so want the WideWheel duel motor, retails for about a thousand. If anyone on here owns a duel or single WWheel let me know how you like or dislike. Ty
@@AlienRides of course. Always great reviews. I have ridden the boosted rev, but have not ridden this scooter. How does the widewheel pro compare to the boosted rev speed/acceleration wise? Ride comfort wise? And range wise? Which do you like better and why? I think maybe splurging a bit more and going for a zero 8x or mantis base would give you better range/ performance than a wide wheel pro right?
Gregory Patzelt it feels like this scooter has about similar power to the boosted rev, I get about the same top speed on both, 24 mph or so. I think this scooter should do a bit better range wise too. At a lower price, I think the wide wheel wins over the rev.
@@AlienRides where it gets really hard is where to stop your budget as you can spend a bit more and get a zero 8x, mantis, dualtron raptor 2/ the new dualtron eagle, or even a speedway 5. I had the same issue with electric skateboards and ended up buying 4 different level boards lol.
Gregory Patzelt yeah, there’s so much selection that it’s hard to decide when to stop... you can always spend just a few more bills for a faster/longer range ride. But if you can afford it, go big from day 1! 😬
Great video. Do you know what its like riding this thing in wet conditions ? I've heard its not really suited for wet conditions but I don't know if that means it's impossible or just requires extra care.
Yeah, good point. The airless tires does make it a bit more slippery on rain, but it is totally doable. Just need to be careful when turning and accelerating for the most part. It's generally a good idea to not ride scooters in downpour conditions, but a light drizzle should be fine.
@@AlienRides In that case I'll probably go with this scooter because a bit of extra care in wet conditions in return for never having to worry about flats seems like a fair trade off to me. Thanks so much for your reply.

Can you do a hill climb vid on the Mantis. Thats a scooter I really like. Im doing my best to save up what little money I have so that hopefully sometime in the next year or so I can purchase one.
Hey man, great review. How does it fare uphill in eco mode? And have you ridden it extensively in eco mode for a realistic mileage? I take the advertised max range with a huge grain of salt lol
Thanks for stopping by! You definitely get more range in eco mode compared to turbo, especially if you ride it slower. I haven't ridden this extensively in eco mode, as I max out all of my scooters. I typically just say to take the advertised range and cut it in half.
The advertised range is in "no-rider" situation. In other words, it is in "idle speed" situation with e-scooter sitting high on the bar stool without wheels touching the floor till the end of juice from battery.
Awesome kev!, I finally decided to cancel my Order in China to get That scooter and now i have a dualtron 2 with a Lots of Upgrades 🤟🏿. Anyways WW pro is a excelent Choice for the Price
Depends on how long your commute is and how fast you want to go. This one is a pretty good option! For some more power and speed look into either the Eagle Pro or Kaabo Mantis.
@@AlienRides right on thanks bro I appreciate your reply as always! Update** so my fixed position es4 is holding up great had it hacked to do 20mph and soldered the fuse that always blows and it's great accept it's slow and no rear suspension haaa. Need something way faster and suspension would be sweet! That hill you climbed on that wide wheel was impressive and the what 35 MPH all for 1100.00 sounds like my next scoot before I drive into a Rion... If you ever come to Utah lmk we can hit some epic riding up in Park City Utah!! Would be awesome content for your channel!!
Question: I'm only gonna drive in eco-mode. Can I configure this scooter so that eco-mode becomes the default mode? Or do I have to toggle it to eco-mode each and every new session?
That's a good question and for some reason I thought it started in eco mode, but maybe not. I don't know off the top of my head but hopefully someone can chime in!
Ah, so do they sell another option with a single motor? I probably won't have a chance to get my hands on it, but I can ask around. I imagine it's very similar, maybe just a bit less power?
Hello, I also bought one. My scooter will emit low-frequency noise similar to helicopter propellers in the speed range of 26-29 km/h, which is at the highest speed in the eco mode. Does your scooter have this problem?
Thanks for the video! I would definitely take the Widewheel Pro over a Boosted Rev. Now that I have a few hundred miles on my base Mantis I am definitely happy I picked it up. I love being able to keep up with most San Francisco traffic on the Mantis. When I need the portability I go back to my Speedway Mini-IV or Ecoreco L5+. Now that I have grown accustomed to the Mantis on BART I have been using it as my daily commuter more often. Since I have the reverse commute on BART I don't need to fold my scooter up as much so the Mantis has been working out. Perhaps there are some more extreme hills in Potrero. They may not be as long as California but I believe the grade is greater. I know one of my e-bikes had no problem with California but I think it was the top of Mississippi street that stalled it out.
Yeah the Mantis is awesome, and it's cool that you don't have a problem bringing it bart. Thanks for the tip on the hill, ideally a long and steep hill would be ideal. Or maybe I can test on a mountain like Mt Tam or something 🤔
@@AlienRides I did a lot of mountain biking back in the day on and around Tam. I don't recall super steep roads. They had to make sure people could traverse most roads under normal human power bicycles. The Potrero hill streets have some length to them and definitely have the steepness. Another thing you should show is the ability to safely go down those hills. I would never want to go down with anything that didn't have dual disc brakes :)
Alien Rides got mine from Apollo (Canada) got the upgraded throttle too it came with key also. I too have the throttle lag problem, hope they’ll have some kind of control box upgrade. There’s so much you can do with a scooter, but every plus you add, create a negative. And every negative you add creates a positive.
Interesting thoughts! I'm not sure about adding negatives to make a positive, but I think many manufacturers have tried that!
That really took those gradients well, I'm surprised.
It does really well for such a small scooter. It's the cheapest scooter that made it up that hill.
Would like to take it on a fly-in fishing trip to Canada. Must fit in plane
Great video.I
travelled on that street.Too much of a wide wheel has more friction thus less speed specially uphill.Have you tried narrower wheels uphills? Also uses more battery power.
Thank you,see you again.
Have tried a bunch of different scooters up this hill, really just need powerful motors to make it up, about 800 watts each conquers the hill nicely.
Excellent review! Lots of things to like about this WideWheel Pro, was wondering how the suspension compared to the Speedway V? thanks
I order one of this Scooters last week , I'm only waiting for delivery .. Let's see what are they really made of
Awesome. it's a really great scooter, you're going to love it! 👽🖖
@@AlienRides ✔👍💖
How about down hill , do the wheels get damaged due to going to faster than the stock speed
Generally downhill doesn't put that much work on the motors so its totally fine to go much faster. 👽🖖
if people need more suspension go get some nike shocks or nike airmax
Bastian Remedy especially the 720s! I wore them by accident and they do a lot
We don’t wear running shoes in Hawaii, lol
Have you tried going up these hills with a emove cruiser or touring?
I haven't yet, but I just got the emove cruiser, so I'm expecting to do that test in the next few weeks!
I'm interested in seeing the e-move cruiser tackle these hills.
Yeah, it would be interesting to see if it can! Maybe I’ll reach out and ask for a cruiser review unit.
@@AlienRides i was just going to ask you about this one. Please review it.
Is it possible to disable a motor on the dual version?
So I'm actually not sure. There's different speed modes though and the throttle curve is controllable so you should be fine!
@@AlienRides Thanks for the answer! The fact is that in Italy electric scooter to be allowed to go in public streets must have a 500w motor so I fear I could have some issue with it, that's why I was asking.. Thanks anyway!
Very nice product test video.
Thanks for stopping by, love testing scooters. 👽🖖
How's that holding up to a weped?? I found a wide wheel in the dumpster. It was seriously dead Jim !
hey i just got a ninebot ES4. it’s not fast enough though for me at 18mph and a single motor just isn’t enough. i’m not trynna break the bank and go in the 3s yet. so anywhere from 1k-1.6k would be enough.
Yeah getting a scooter is dangerous because there's always a faster or bigger one to get 😅 I think the WideWheel pro could be a good option for you, great power for the price.
Great I been waiting on a test ride of this scooter I love the wide wheels
Yeah, I suppose wheel diameter to size of this scooter is pretty crazy! Nice little package for sure.
Would love to see this climb test on Speedway 5 or Leger.
I'll see if we can do that! The Speedway V would absolutely rip up the hill no problem because it's even more powerful than the WideWheel, but it would be a fun video to make.
wonder where i can buy accessories for widewheel pro - like handle bars for kids
It's certainly a good looking scooter. Awesome that you got an EUC, they're great machines.
EUC?? Please Elaborate
@@coolshariq Electric UniCycle
Do EUC go up hills ok?
Hey, I know they are different, but which one would you recommend.
I ride a motorcycle around the Bay Area and San Francisco. However, sometimes I take the Shared scooters to get around the neighborhood in SF.
I work about 1,8 miles from work.
I’ve been thinking about the onewheel for the longest time, but then I saw the widewheel, I was impressed. Which one to get?
- I need to be able to fit it on my motorcycle
- I want to be able to get quickly around the neighborhood
- sometimes take it to work
- and when I travel I’d like to take it with as well
I’ve taken the lime scooter from the Marina District to Financial district without any issues fitting between traffic downtown.
U didn't mention how much you weight. It makes a HUGE difference.
Good point, I'm about 180 lbs.
I might get one next year still looking for the right one there are hill all around me. good vid
This one is a pretty solid choice for conquering hills! Definitely get a dual motor scooter whatever you choose.
thankyou foe the feed back that's good for me .
Thinking of getting a scooter and watched your cool video, distracted by the drone footage. What drone are you using??
I'm using the Skydio 2 for most of my videos these days. It's so much fun to shoot with it! The way it follows you, it's like magic.
Still dreaming and being antsy about the SSR 🤤.

seeing how you feel about it now and just wondering how tall and how much you weigh. I am a bigger guy at 6'3" 210 looking to purchase one. thanks!
I think it is a pretty good scooter, but it is a bit jerky. You are a bit heavier, so something like the apollo ghost or kaabo mantis might be a better choice for you. :alienRides:
Man this thing is great up hills
Yeah, the dual motor scooters crush hills 👽🖖
Awesome review. Curious how much do you weigh? and how much where you carrying in weight with your backpack etc?
Thanks! I weight about 185 or so, maybe another 10 lbs with the backpack.
Alien Rides ok thank you for the info appreciate it
I have been riding this this whole past week! I have a few questions for you:
1: does 2020 pro have a ludicrous mode?
2: how do you go on cruise mode?
3: the California street ride, was that on power mode?
There is a speed mode, the apollo guys did a good video of enabling it, I think they talk about cruise control also: ruclips.net/video/6SR_a9jwHWI/видео.html
For my test, the speed setting was maxed.
@@AlienRides you only got 24mph on ludicrous mode? or you didnt have ludicrous mode on?
JordanNOFX 24mph on ludicrous mode :)
Great review how does this compare with the turbowheel pacer?
Good questions, I haven't tried the pacer, but at a glance it seems that the WideWheel will have higher torque due to two motors and be able to climb hills better, while the pacer might have a bit of a higher top speed. The pacer would have air-fillted tires, making it more of a smooth ride compared to the WideWheel. Both seem like they could be great scooters.
Any idea how to convert to mph on the new model. Just got one and can't figure it out. Not in the manual ether?
I believe there's a menu if you hold the brake lever and turn in, but I don't rememer what option does what.
Sweet. I almost bought a one wheel but needed more info. Ty
OneWheela look really fun for off-roading and such. An EUC would also be a great option for long range and fast cruising.
Ty
I went up that street on the 2019 model with no issues.
Nice. Hope it's treating you well, I just know there were a few issues with the brakes and stuff on that model.
You must be lighter weight than him?
Nice! Been waiting for this one.
Awesome, nice to see you again and thanks for stopping by!
Really great video!!!
Thanks as always! 😁
Does that mean it will go anywhere there are roads ?
Basically yeah, it's a solid scooter as long as you like solid tires. 👽🖖

You tested both this WideWheel Pro and E-Twow GT, so which is most comfortable riding on rough terrain / bumpy roads? Which have better suspension?

Thanks for the request, I’ll try to find time to film that. I can assure you it conquers most hills with ease though!
Come to eagle rock in west orange New Jersey..thats the ultimate test
Always fun to know about cool places to ride. Hope to check it out some day! 👽🖖

Is there a seat option?
Sweet review once again my friend!! \m/,
How much is this one btw??
Looks like it's about ~1.3k USD. Not cheap, but a pretty good price for a dual motor scooter IMO.

Ah, so do they sell another option with a single motor? I probably won't have a chance to get my hands on it, but I can ask around. I imagine it's very similar, maybe just a bit less power?
@@AlienRides Yes it has the 10A battery not the 15A. The 500w with the 15A battery would be nice for range.

I was the one suggesting this. Remember?
Thank you for the suggestion! :) I think the Pro has some nice improvements over the normal one for sure. Definitely a nice little scooter.
Me too 🙋🏻♂️
Hello, I also bought one. My scooter will emit low-frequency noise similar to helicopter propellers in the speed range of 26-29 km/h, which is at the highest speed in the eco mode. Does your scooter have this problem?
Hmm, sounds strange. My guess is that it might be the brake rotor? 👽🖖
@@AlienRides no.... The brake disc works without any problems, and his voice belongs to the middle and low frequency range. It is really annoying.😭
Pretty sure the dualtron is the king of scooters at everything
If you can pay the price l, then definitely. Except for speed though, that goes to Rion 😎
Great hill climb. Can I ask how much you weigh?

It also only sports a single motor, so you aren't going to have as much power, but it is more lightweight. Overall it seems like it could be a solid commuter option.
