isn't that the same excuse Dip used the past two years? That he "misjudged the trade market and just wasnt falling the way they thought it would" Guy continues to believe he is the smartest in the room when the others just laugh at his arrogance. Between him and Stanton they have lost the fanbase, it has to be hard for certain guys on the team that want to win being stuck in such a situation that they feel and like the fans but know that zero help is coming to put them over the top year after year.
I don't know that they have lost the fanbase. Maybe the super hardcore fringe, but fans are still showing up. Also I think we are still super early to be saying that they misjudged the market. Like it or not, they really wanted Santana. Didn't misjudge his cost, he just chose elsewhere. There are lots of options to pivot but each comes with a pretty severe shift in the way the team ends up being constructed. I'm sure they are working tgrough the rift. Time is ticking though, they need to jump in the fray soon and make multiple significant moves while they are still available to be made. I'm predicting a significant move is done by New Year's.
@RustyTridents Ever since the infamous 54% comment he hasn't been allowed in front of a mic much, last year it was they misjudged the market. Is that what happened? Don't know for sure, what we do know is that they throw out names as targets say they just fell short or lost out only to find out they never talked to said player at all. At this point it's easy to see why organization has burned up any cred it had with fans.
@@zackbleecker7630nah it’s not that Dipoto is bad, it’s that you’re wayyy too emotional. Had we won 54% of our games this season, we would have made the playoffs… he wasn’t wrong. He didn’t lose the fan base he lost the most loud and annoying fans in it. You. He didn’t lose me. He didn’t trade Castillo because he doesn’t want to lose the trade. But we need to ship him out to stand a shot at signing quality bats. Also can’t blame Jerry for thinking he deserves more in that trade. We have the desirable product, budget priced, with years left, and no significant injury history. Every other team got exactly what they wanted, why shouldn’t we expect the same? Other teams if anything are weary of trading with Dipoto as he is always dealing.
@victorunger haha wtf are you talking about bot? Facts over your feelings Dipstick only 1 playoff appearance in his 9 years here...he wasn't wrong? His big FA signing in Garver? Having to bring back Haniger after he wasn't going enough for a QO? Loud and annoying for calling a spade a spade, rather be that than waste money on your bobbleheads and hotdogs from heaven while the team can only field 3 hitters who can hit above the mendoza line...They only want to trade Castillo cause they don't want to finish paying him and for another year refuse to spend anything in FA, you think teams are scared of getting fleeced by this fool? Why do you think the Phillies had such an outrageous ask for Bohm? Cause they know Dip has no more scapegoats after his boy Servais got canned. And yea every other team has gotten what they wanted, we deserve to get the same as fans, but we don't, instead we get our own players asking for them to step up. I don't see how Hye Seong Kim makes us any better. Would you agree? It's like expecting a double A bat to succeed in the bigs when they've never faced that caliber of pitching..
Is there any chance we are just throwing in the towel behind closed doors for this offseason and just waiting 2-3 years for the minor leaguers to mature?
It's also possible that the Mariners have once again painted themselves into a corner because the entire rest of the league knows they have no money to spend so their asks on trades are ridiculous, to try and intentionally fleece the Mariners based on that desparation. Of course, an ownership group that would actually spend some of their league leading revenue year after year could easily fix this. #selltheteam
Said it before, they are going to say they did the heavy lifting at the trade deadline with Randy to fraudulently sell a weak offseason. Been saying since the end of last season that they were going to give Young every chance to win the 2B job. We have enough middle infielders coming through the pipeline where it doesn't matter if we don't play the service time game on 1 or 2 of them if it means that the owners don't have to open up the pocketbook for a $10-$12m veteran.

Imagine jumping both feet in to FA signing over-valued veterans just to discover later that Rori Sasaki actually does choose the Mariners and now they don't have the money to sign him. I think the fear of that possibility has had an influence on Jerry being so cautious, he doesn't want to be aggressive while the Sasaki situation is unresolved. As far as the trades not materializing, that's just the nature of trades. I agree with Colby that it's okay to pay 130 cents on the dollar to fit a need. But you can get a team to make that kind of deal any time you want. Might as well see if something more reasonable materializes over the next couple months, there's no need to get THAT desperate in December.
They can only use their international pool money for Roki and we have nearly twice as much international money than anyone. No need to worry about that at all.
To help others out in pronouncing Hyeseong Kim, think about saying the word "yes", add an "H" in front of "yes", then drop the "s". I've lived in Korea for 10 months and can read Korean, so this is accurate :)
How many times is Dipoto gonna "misjudge the market", with how smug he is youd think he was gm of the century. I dont have any bit belief that theyll do anything other than budget sign like usual, guys who dnt do dick. I dont really feel much anything with the mariners right now
If you guys want the correct pronunciation of Hyeseong Kim's name, it would be "Heh Sung" Kim. So much gets lost in translation based on how Koreans translate their names from Korean to English. Personally, at some point while growing up, I got tired of trying to get people to pronounce my middle name (which is the Korean name given to me by my parents) because rarely ever did anyone get it right after several attempts. 😂

That's the issue. Mariners FO needs to give something up to get something but they refuse to do so. Trade Castillo to the Cubs and grab Hoerner... however else the trade needs to go make it happen.
I live in Vancouver Washington just across the bridge from Portland. It would be nice to have a 2nd team that we like in the national league or something.
Thanks for the forecast! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?
I feel so bad for any new Mariners fans. You guys have no idea what you're in for. You might want to have a psychiatrist on call 24/7 to help with the trials and tribulations of being a Mariners fan. It's kind of like being on Death Row.
If the mariners really want to compete they’ll go and get Pete Alonso, Bregman, and Santander. Sign roki sasaki and then trade a SP for a good 2nd baseman. Otherwise good luck against the dodgers
I would rather go with Raley as a primary 1B than waste a roster spot on Locklear. Luke doesn’t have great numbers against lefties, but maybe that day could be D-Mo. Or just give Raley some at bats against lefties and maybe he can run into one! Locklear is not a major leaguer!
Bring Josh Rojas back at third he signed a baseball for me in Oakland he is a nice guy and does well at defense get him hitting better and that will solve 3b
A guy nobody has talked about who I believe is in for a comeback year and should be on the TM for 2nd/3rd: Ryan Mcmahon. Guy has a 14,666,666 AVV for the next 3 seasons. I get he's been in Colorado his whole career but even equating field factors I think his most recent season (a slump year) would be a good indication of how he would perform in a Mariner uniform. 240/325/395 with quality defense. A 2WAR player. He's also an iron man. 4 straight seasons playing in 150+ games with over 595ABs in each year. Great value at the AVV and I think the Mariners could fleece the Rockies with their main objective to be rebuilding and offloading $.
For his career, McMahon outside of Coors has hit .220/.306/.367 (his 2024 being a slight improvement on that mark). His defense is gold-glove caliber, but 3B is hardly a glove-first position. If we couldn't afford Rojas at $5M, I wouldn't count on us taking on the name-brand version of him at 3x the cost (or shipping the prospect capital necessary to get a discount).
Austin Shenton is a good option to role out at first. Genuinely believe he could easily be a 115OPS+ 2WAR first baseman if he gets at bats. Keston Hiura's 'free'. Send him to Tacoma to see if he can get hot. He crushed 20 bombs in 147 ABs for LAA in triple-A last year. Slugged .796 through those at-bats. Just hasnt been good in the major league level but similar to guys like Rooker he has struggled at the majors coming into his age 28 szn but a true 3 outcome guy with big power potential and acclaim coming into the league as a prospect whose always crushed in the minors. Also a West Coast guy. Josh Bell could potentially contribute at slightly above league average but pricier than both these options. Shenton against righties could - and i believe, will - be better than JB next year. Lamonte Wade & Mountcastle. Are on the trade market. A Johnny Farmelo for one of them? Toss in Trent Thornton or some other reliever. I still think we should overpay for Rooker. Guys potentially a 4-6war player. That is a Superstar. Dawell Joseph, Tyler Locklear, Emerson Hancock, Troy Taylor, Michael Morales AND Randy Roza for Rooker and JP Sears or TJ Ginn type beat. Or Morales, Locklear and Arroyo for Lawrence Butler. Get that lefty outfielder!
Best possible outcome now is trade for bichette and put him at third. Go get Kim Hye Seong (pronounced Hye like Hay not Hi), and then sign Alonso or turner. Let’s not forget too we still have done nothing with the pen. Not looking super encouraging.

But we always do this

I’ve always wondered; does Colby actually ‘hit it’ when Ty asks him to? Or is he above such things
They stated he does have a button he presses, helps Ty not have to do so many things during the intro.
Hello darkness my old friend I have come to speak with you again. Summarizes the offseason
Pov matters off season :
Sound of silence 🔕
Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams, I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light, I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never shared
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools" said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed in the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
Then the sign said, "The words on the prophets are written on the subway walls
In tenement halls"
And whispered in the sound of silence
