  • We received the Xebex XT4 Sled in April of 2024, and have put it through the ringer for the past two months testing every setting, strap, scenario, and more. At this point we are sharing what we think is the current BEST home gym sled, but it has a lot of room for improvement.
    If you are looking to buy a sled for your home gym RIGHT NOW, this would be our top pick. But there is always another one waiting around the corner that could be even better.

    Great review, Joe! I basically have the same thoughts as you regarding the XT4 and after using it for a bit, I actually think the XT3+ v2 might actually be the best home gym sled. That is unless/until Xebex/GetRXd releases an XT4 that has locking wheels.

      I'm sure we'll see it. XT5 maybe?

    This unit gives me ideas for strongman comps. I currently have the XT3 but those casters at the rear seems awesome!

      They are definitely a really cool idea. They need some tweaks, but really cool idea.

    I work as a firefighter. I was thinking about buying a sled like this as it is a functional work exercise (dragging heavy fire hose). I was looking at the Xebex XT3 plus, and I will probably buy that model over this one. Thanks for the review.

      Not a bad idea. The XT3 gets some good feedback, and I think if they fix the wheel issues, you'd have a retrofit option anyway if you chose to go that route.

    That video of you standing up the XT4 has convinced me that until there’s an ability to lock the wheels, I’m not going to convert my XT3+ lol. I do want the front weight pin and the rubber tires tho.

      Yeah I don't blame you. And the front pin is awesome, and really impressed with the full rubber tires.

    Very thorough review, Joe! Hopefully they can come out with swivel wheels that can also lock like a lot of casters have.

    • @GrayMatterLifting
      @GrayMatterLifting  Месяц назад +1

      Yep, I think that's a solid solution. Lock straight for storage, sprints, etc. swivel for mobility.

      @@fwiffo42 yeah I like the option to lock or unlock them

      @@GrayMatterLifting this also reminds me of those jogging strollers they make for kids with the big wheels in the back. They have some they have the swivel on the front and those size can get crazy too if you don’t have them locked in.

    Swivel Wheels in the back is interesting

    • @GrayMatterLifting
      @GrayMatterLifting  Месяц назад +1

      It's a cool idea, but needs refinement. This feels like they had the idea, were afraid someone else would beat them to market, so they pushed it out there to be first.

      @@GrayMatterLifting yeah if you’ve ever pushed a heavy cart like in a warehouse with freight on it and the wheels start going crazy stuff not fun

    It seems like the design would benefit from the rear wheels being lockable in position

    Hi Joe,
    Thanks again for the XT4 review! We're thrilled you like it, especially since it's become your current favorite sled/top choice of sled!
    For the smoothest multi-directional movement, we recommend always attaching the harness from the back of the sled (2 wheel side). This provides better traction and minimizes tilting and leads the swivel better. You won't experience tilting as long as the harness is attached to back, 2-wheel side instead of the front.
    Also, we tested sprinting with the sled at resistance level 1 and found it relatively easy to keep straight: ruclips.net/video/f_-mWiixNCk/видео.html
    Along with testing at heavy resistance, also easy to keep straight: ruclips.net/user/shortsOr_HirkY2rA
    We appreciate your feedback about the workout demos, and we're happy to let you know we've included a video on the website now. May check it out here: ruclips.net/video/JYZ_hTfkt5k/видео.htmlsi=9lPt7BOyl9rLSKPq
    In the meantime, if you have any specific questions we'd be happy to help!
    Thanks,
    Xebex Team
