    Dropped my shocks off this morning at Shock Therapy and picked him up around 3 o'clock. Was a hassle putting them back on the car as those top bolts in the front are really hard to see and get at.
    Can't wait to take it for a ride and see how it performs. I won't be able to compare stock with the Shock Therapy springs and valving as I never drove the pro XP on the trails yet

    I’m actually in the process of reviewing them myself after 200 miles on new KRXI have already pulled off the shock therapy due to excessive shock bodywear. Already ordered and receive the Schmidty springs

    I don’t really understand the concern. The shocks therapy springs are also made by Eibach! I personally don’t think it’s the springs I think it’s your spring slider/Divider that’s wearing from Mud or sand! You need to really try the outerwear!! I can’t believe you haven’t heard of them? I’ve tried both companies with the same ware on shock bodies! Also personally, if you’re running any type of quality shock, you should be running, limiting straps, no matter what unless you got deep pockets! My two cents

    Hi, good video as always. Did the stock springs show much signs of wear? I will waiting to see your update on these new springs. I have a 22 pro xp ultimate, and going to get springs for it but I am trying to decide witch ones to go with. I wonder if the live valve fox will wear any different than the walker shocks. Thanks

      The springs did have paint wear on the inside, but they’re much harder than the aluminum shock parts and they carry a lifetime warranty. Not sure on the Fox shock wear, but assume you’d have a similar issue.

      You will see wear under divider on the fox, they all show wear. it really comes down to how clean u keep shocks after each ride. Also the ST springs i think people are actually having the springs rub. i think its cause the smaller inside dia, vs the schmidty springs. Also the ST spring dia is thicker and longer bottom spring, so that'll give it the bow to rub vs Schmidty. idk I've been researching this for a yr now, def going with schmidty but wish someone would do side by side compare on same trail to see dif. I also have a 22 ultimate 780mi on stock springs. ride has really gone away vs first 250mi I also keep mine super clean and i see slight wear under divider

      @@kwmiked Thanks for the info. I actually just got the eibach shock covers for the springs to help keep them clean. They are pretty nice. They fit good and come apart easy and go back together easy. They velcro all the way up.

    i think u shouldve pulled it in to check preload. i think backing it in nose dives the front. so the front might be adj to stiff. idk def courious on feedback. im not sure if i want to do just the springs or just send them in and have revalve done also

    • @DirtyRoosterOffroad
      @DirtyRoosterOffroad  Год назад +1

      Certainly not optimal installation conditions in that small space. We do normally pull them in forward when doing springs. We performed another adjustment after the video as we weren't happy with final adjustments the day of the video. 3 days with this machine at Hatfield McCoy yielded good results. In our opinion, the springs by themselves do the trick, but I'm sure a revalve would be even better. That said, I don't us making that investment until we rebuild the shocks. We're working on part two, but from what we've seen so far, we're liking Schmidty more.

    Mud is the biggest issue with shock body wear.

    Curious why they feel different spring on the shock would negate the need for limit straps. Should only be dependent on unsprung weight I would think.

    No matter what brand of springs & setup you have, there will be Shock body wear!
    Schmitty claiming theirs don’t is a false claim!
    Also their claim that you don’t need limit straps, depends on if you put larger heavier tires on!
    The heavier tire at fool droop when Shock is fully extended is when you can damage the Shock!
    So if you go with larger heavier tires, then you need limit straps!
    Stock tires don’t need limit straps.

    I haven't seen your channel since I sold my RS1. I had the Shock Therapy Springs and RIS done to it, the guy came out and talked to me when I went to pick it up and he told me the front left shock had a bad rubber o-ring in it and let all the nitrogen mix with the oil making the shock useless, and it came from the factory that way he said, he told me he see's that once in a while from Walker Evans.
    I think Schmidty was selling you some snake oil, I would put some limit straps on your friends car like yours. Measuring that shaft is a waste of time. You get your ride height by adjusting the preload.
    Having the ride height with the rear higher than the front is going to make your friends car ride bad, unless he is driving slow trail riding speeds.
    I bought a Pro XP ultimate 2 seat with the Fox shocks on Saturday. It's going to Shock Therapy on Wednesday to get the springs and valving. I have had no problem with them and this will be the 4th time I went with them. I live 10 minutes away from them.
    I have the same spring compressor as your friend, bought that after changing the springs with the $30 Harbor Freight spring tool on my first XP1000 4 seat, Was a 4 hour nightmare.

    • @DirtyRoosterOffroad
      @DirtyRoosterOffroad  Год назад +1

      Agree on the front being lower; we need to take them back off and adjust some more. It was late and we got lazy ;). As far as the shaft measurement, it does make sense and you do adjust the preload to get that measurement where they want it. Their prescribed measurements actually result in more ground clearance, which could also make it tippy. We’ll see what happens without the limit straps, but, like you, I think we’ll need them. Must be nice to live that close to Shock Therapy! Schmidty is in Mesa, so not far from you either. I saw Primus in Mesa while I was in the USAF out of Tucson.

      @@DirtyRoosterOffroad You're right, Schimidty is in Mesa, I checked out their website a while ago, I used to live in Mesa back in 1979 when I was stationed at Williams Air Force Base.
      They closed that base back in the 90s I think. I moved here to Glendale when my daughters husband got job transfer. Didn't want to be away from the grandkids.

      Yeah. Not happy with the wear, for sure. Interestingly, I think the way Schmidty has us align the springs might help. I also looked for some shock covers; Eibach is the only place I’ve found that offers them in the length required for SXS.
