Spraying is only one small part of the bigger issue which stems from the consumer being picky of how their crop looks over what nutrients it gives them.
Every orchard ive worked on has anywhere between 50 - 60% of their crop thrown on the ground during thinning seasons to focus on better yield, which then goes through another process of being the right colour, size, shape etc. By the time that crop is on the supermarket isles, that is the remaining 10 - 15% of all yield that was grown that year, there are so many points between then that arent spraying that need to be looked at in order to have more food on supply.
