I mean, I would argue if you were to get into the game because of the new music etc (as he likely would), I would say it's valid to at least go there for a while and catch up with the whole story after a while. I do 100% see your point, but I'd be demotivated if I got into the game specifically because Natlan interests me but having to wait for potentially up to 100 hours or more for that.

Genshin Impact has been out for almost 4 years now, so there's an abundance of content. To the music of different cultures, their characters and stories in those regions, and hours and hours of open-world exploration! Natlan is a region that will be released on the 28th August next week! Would love to watch your interpretation of Natlan if you do wish to play the game, you have a relaxed and likeable personality so I think many other people would enjoy your content too! Have a good day! Subscribed!

One of the main advice I would give is don't rush because of RUclips comments and enjoy the game for yourself. Genshin has 5 countries in game (Natlan is 6th which is releasing at 28th) each loosely based on real countries and every country music is combination of that country music, for example last country is Fontaine which is based on France so Fontaine music contains lot of French music instruments. Also Genshin monetization is free but has gacha/gambling (pulling for character) but you don't have to spend money to get characters by playing/exploring in-game.
One other note is Genshin don't do copyright strikes for any of their official videos so, you don't have to crop the video.
Thanks for video, See you in Natlan

  • @RKNancy
    @RKNancy 21 день назад +18

Just a reminder, lot of people keep forgetting that Natlan is a mixture of Africa and Mesoamerican cultures, probably to depict the death of their previous Goddess and takeover of the country by the new Goddess.
I have seen a lot of crazy people argue that Natlan is Africa only when devs never confirmed that. The Devs followed this pattern for other countries that had a change in Goddess for Sumeru(India abd middle east) and Fontaine(Roman Empire, British and France) as well, so it's not anything shocking. What matters is that they justify it through their solid storytelling and excellent music and that's why I have stayed a fan all this time.
Also, don't rush the game. The game is designed to make you rush into endgame, but don't do that. You'll miss out on a lot.

    • @revangerang
      @revangerang 21 день назад +2

Yeah and anyways real life south/central america have a lot of African influence (and Spanish influence too), so it 100% makes sense for them to blend these for the game ? I don't understand what's so difficult about it...... Fontaine isn't a 1 to 1 of France either, like you said it has other European and Celtic influences. And same with Mondstadt. It's based in GERMANIC culture, not a 1 to 1 of Germany. That's why it also has some British and Celtic stuff too, because those cultures have overlap IRL, and there's also British culture in Fontaine because again, IRL Britain has had French influence. It's not rocket science~~

Honestly, I think more than anything, you should react to the other Symphonies. Genshin currently has five other nations besides Natlan, and four of them have Live Symphony videos on the official Genshin YT channel
    Liyue is themed after China
    Inazuma after Japan
Sumeru after parts of Southwest Asia/North Africa
and Fontaine after France and other European influences
Their four symphonies are just as beautiful and representative of traditional music from other real countries as the Natlan symphony was, so I feel like you'd thoroughly enjoy them even if you yourself aren't native to their real world countries of inspiration. Plus if you're truly interested in playing the game, the Symphonies will be the perfect way for a musician to get a feel for the vibe of each in-game nation that you'll encounter before Natlan!

Btw, if you feel like checking out more music after those, there's this other music thing Genshin does every year called Melodies of an Endless Journey (they're pretty long though, like at least 1 hour each lol). It's basically a compilation of various genshin music performed by musicians and groups both big and small. The 2021 version includes a live orchestra medley of Mondstadt themes, which is something I personally treasure because Mondstadt never got a dedicated Live Symphony video like the other five nations did...

  • @GohHuiTing

Also, I wanted to add - if you ever play the game, do take it slow! There is TONS of content in there, and I always tell my friends that Genshin is a marathon, not a sprint. (It’s impossible to sprint that fast anyway). I’ve played for around 10 months now and I’ve only just managed to clear 70% of the content? And I play a little every day!!
The reason why this game is amazing is that there’s something for EVERYONE. Personally, for me, the music was what got me into the game (like you!). I was working backstage for one of the Genshin concerts last year and had the pleasure of listening to the music on loop and live! And after five days of that I caved and finally decided to download the game heh.
What got me to stay though, was the incredible storytelling! Genshin has one of the deepest and most meaningful storytelling I’ve seen in games - they’ve explored topics from your typical fantasy adventures, to even things like mental health and real life issues. Honestly imma say that it’s not a game meant for kids HAHAHA with the depth of topics explored!
Aside from that, there are people who play it to collect characters (all the playable characters are voiced by amazing voice actors and you get to hear them say good night /good morning/tell stories to you if you are into that -swoon-). To explore the open world (you can climb trees! Cliffs! Swim! Dive! Set grass on fire!!!). To learn a different language (from the voiced cutscenes, especially!). To build their own little house (like in the sims) and arrange furniture and gardens and stuff. To build characters and showcase big amazing damage numbers in the dungeons. To enjoy the fighting system (it works based on elemental reactions; fire reacts with ice to form a reaction called “melt”, for example.)
I could go on and on! That’s what amazes me about Genshin - there’s literally something for everyone!!! And it’s probably the reason why they’ve been so successful hehe. And it’s not targeted towards any particular gender or age group as well.
I’m honestly glad that I decided to start playing it, and I’m excited for you to start your journey in Teyvat too!!! Enjoy!!

long time Genshin player here (been playing since launch). my tips are to take the game *very* slowly. it really is about the journey, not the destination. this game is a little notorious for burnout due to the sheer amount of content so make sure to take plenty of breaks. also, avoid the fandom at all costs, at least the louder part. in their eyes if you aren't playing the game how they play it, then you are wrong. i have a friend that was constantly told that their character builds were wrong and now the game isn't fun for them anymore

  • @revangerang

You're right to think of Kingdom Hearts! Genshin Impact is basically KH but instead of anime + Disney stories, it's anime + world cultures/mythologies hahaha. Also each different region has influences not only from world cultures, but also influences/homages to different films and games. Natlan is totally influenced by Pokemon, you're so right! I also see Crash Bandicoot influence, and I'm sure there are others too. The music totally has some influence from old western (cowboy) film scores too.

Since you want to concentrate more on the music I would recommend watching the genshin concerts, there are here on youtube completely free, they release a concert every anniversary and we have another one coming soon, they are usually 1 hour + long, the 2nd anniversary concert is very rock centered. The only problem is that sometimes they show cinematics and well, they contain spoilers, so you would have to be ok with that. The story has been ongoing for 4 years now so if you get into the game right now you would have a lot of content to catch up on xd. Hoyo also has another game that is turn base, since you mentioned playing Persona 4, called Honkai Star Rail, which is basically about traveling through space on a train, they have some great music as well and have released 1 concert so far for it.

loved your reaciton + breakdown of the natlan symphony (and this video too)! as some other comments have pointed out the game is actually already out (came out in 2020) and has been consistently adding updates since, with 1 new region/country being added to the game each year - natlan is this years addition and is releasing next week!
    a few things to know:
    - because its been out so long there is a LOT of content, which is a good thing! just means it will take a while to experience everything
    - it is what is known as a 'gacha' game, meaning there are gambling mechanics (which is how you obtain characters)
    - it has a lot of indepth systems and may be challenging to understand at the start (was for me) but its worth it
also - because theyve added new countries in the past, there are also symphony performances of music for them too! I would love to see you react to the 'Sumeru Symphony Orchestra', which is inspired by the middle east and south asia
love that ive discovered this channel and would love to see more content, a new perspective on genshin is much appreciated but your other content is also great!

I suggest reacting to character demos too! Could get a lot of views, and they are really great. They begin pretty basic but they evolve into epic cinematics pretty fast. Hoyoverse doesn't even claim copyright
There are also character teasers (they are drawn cinematics) and version trailers (1.0-5.0)

Commenting for the algorithm! I hope you get lots of views from this!
Like everyone said, Genshin is a *huge* game, it’s been out for nearly 4 years and has the backlog of content from all of it. If you do start the game, take your time! You may discover it’s not for you, and that’s ok! This game used to get a lot of comparisons to “Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild” when it came out, and if you’re familiar with that one, it would explain the vibes of this game a lot more.
Take your time, savour the content as you please, and good luck!

I enjoyed your past video of the Natlan Genshin Impact music reaction, it was an interesting perspective.
I would suggest playing when it’s convenient.
I would play through the nations in the order of Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, and then lastly Natlan. So you have a greater understanding and appreciation for the story by the time you get to Natlan. I assume Natlan would be good even if someone skipped most the story but I think it’d be many times better if they experienced the whole story first.
I would not rush. The game is very pretty, relaxing, and has a great story. The charm from the game comes from playing at your own pace, exploring, doing quests at your leisure, and enjoying the characters/story they present. It’s largely a story based adventure game. It has combat, but that’s not really their ‘core’ focus, so I would not go in expecting something intensely difficult. Which allows one to enjoy the game with the characters you like. They give you characters for free so you can beat the content with them and not need any others unless you personally would just like to play as other characters.
I’m not sure which language you prefer the voices in. That said they also have very high quality trailers and demos for the characters on youtube.

while it's totally possible to play the game as a free player and thrive well in it, the temptation to just spend is just... yeah.
as your account gets older, as long as you are consistent, you can gather all the resources including the Premium ones (the 'primogems', we call them. You need them to get these characters.) for free. But the temptation to just spend your money,,, yeah.

Even though I’m really excited to see new players nowadays, I would suggested considering a few things before you dive in. The main concern for me is that it’s gonna be a huge investment for you if you decide to follow the story and go to Natlan, which I believe would prob take you at least half a year. And there will be barely any Natlan info on the way (whether it’s lore related or not). The story has ramp up time, meaning that you may find first and second part of the main story very slow and “childish”, but it gets a LOT better later on (which, again, it’s gonna be a huge investment) Sometimes the community can be overzealous about new players and there can be backlashes. The gameplay can get a bit grindy once you reach a certain level. But don’t get me wrong it’s a free game and it’s a stunning game. It’s also a great time to get into the game as version 5.0 is coming and bringing a LOT of benefits to gamers including a free 5 standard 5 star. Maybe try it out for a bit and see if you like it! but maybe don’t make it a main focus of the channel? ow you might get unwanted attention from toxic gamers. Then again it’s your decision! I’d just be happy to see another person enjoying playing this game and exploring the world tgt 😊

Genshin is primarily a solo game with some coop options for the open world.
There are a few types of quests:
    1) Archon Quest aka the Main Story
    2) Character Stories centered around a specific character
    3) World Quests that you find and follow around the open world
Archon quests are linear. For the best experience, you should just start from the start and follow things in order. Character quests unlock as you progress. Best done in order too.
Genshin is a game that has gotten better and bigger over time. The early stories are simplier compared to the current stories so best enjoyed in ascending order.
However, if you play in order, it may take you a long while to reach the nation of Natlan. It's the nation just released in Version 5.0 of this game. So they do provide a quick start option. Just remember that if you quick start, there may be spoilers for previous stories, references you don't understand, missing context and relationship arcs etc.
So if you have the time and interest, I strongly suggest you play in the order recommended by the game.
Also, there are puzzles and chests that make the open world a delight, not to mention the beautiful scenery and fantastic music. I have spent hours just walking around taking screenshots and enjoying the music, not following any quest. If you start playing, I hope you can enjoy the game at your own pace and in your own way. ❤

Hope u enjoy the game, and just like others say, don't rush, since there are so much content like main quest and sides quest before u go out to natlan (since it the 6th region, so u need probably 1 month grinding and farming materials for your characters so they're strong enough to beat enemies 😂) just enjoy it with your paces

I love your reactions and breakdowns and I'd love to see your reactions to Genshin itself! My advice is that since there are 4 years of content already, you should approach Genshin like a marathon rather than a sprint. Prepare for a long but epic journey, and plan for it to take time (hundreds of hours by the end of it). I don't think it's wise to skip straight to Natlan as early as you can because you'll be lost as to what's going on, but there's a LOT of story between the beginning of the game and Natlan. Take your time and enjoy the journey, because the characters, story, and music (as well as the gorgeous environments to explore) are all really special.
Players may try to join your world but you don't have to let them in and can even turn off the option for them to join once co-op play is unlocked, if you want to focus on the story for a while without distractions. Also, many characters are free but some are gambled for in what is known as a 'gacha.' You can earn currency for the gacha banners in-game or buy it with real-world money, but you don't need to spend any money to get characters that you can clear the main story with. It's advised to save your earned gacha currency (primogems) for characters you really want! If you save enough, you can guarantee getting a character instead of it being a gamble. You can look up a guide to Genshin's 'pity' system if you want more information on how this feature works.
Even if you don't touch the gacha banners, you can clear the game as long as you level characters and their weapons and equipment and talents and learn about how the elemental reaction system works (the elemental reaction system is a VERY cool way of making the magical elements interact with each other and the world around the player - for example, you can set enemy shields on fire so that they'll burn and drop the shields, or use ice to freeze a river so you can walk across the river, among many other things!)

Hello! Another great reaction video once again.
Natlan does indeed have many creatures that will remind you to Pokemon, and you will even be able to control some of them! However I do recommend you to take the game slowly if you are planning to play it. It's a massive open world game like the Assassin's Creed or Far Cry games, so you may get distracted from the main story quest with all the exploration. In the game you have a lot of characters that use different elements, so you can mix and match them in order to cause "reactions".
So if you want to jump straight into Natlan, it would be best if you first complete the main stories of Mondstadt (the first region) and Liyue (the second region) but again at your own pace while you enjoy the views and background music!

  • @yiqingtan4079

Oh btw, Genshin is a live service game. That means they are consistently adding new content on a fixed schedule. Genshin's schedule is a new game version every 6 weeks which is split into 2 3-week parts. Limited time events come and go but permanent content is added every version update.
Then once a year, they have a major version update. This is when they would release a new region/country together with new characters, new mechanics and fresh music. The big version 5.0 just dropped on 28.08.2024. That's the Natlan update.
That's why there's so much content. So take your time and pace yourself. Welcome to Genshin ❤❤

Natlan comes out in less than a week, might be a good time to start then. they do give you the ability to skip to its story after completing the 2nd region being Liyue based on China. But probably recommended you do some more quests after it.
If you do want one more natlan thing to reaction to there is the 5.0 trailer.

Useful tips: 1 - read tutorials which game gives you. Many people ignore them and do not enjoy their time.
2 - dont be pressed of how to build characters. i watched dozens of people starting game just for the story, and the damage doesnt really matter untill AR 50~. BUT for me personally it is just not fun to fight a boss for 5 minutes and then be killed by it😅 so if you care next point is:
3- there is a playlist on Genshin channel called Collected Miscellany, where characters' gameplay is explained (exept the ones who was released at the very first 1.0 patch). Also there are tonns of guides on RUclips, and them are also more for endgame content, but it is just nice to know who is better in what circumstances.
Genshin is trully beautiful game by itself, i hope you will enjoy it! It educated me personally so much with all those different regions, showing different cultures, and this is how i find nice reactors like you ✨

If you like stories and lore, i will also recommend reading everything in the game too in your own time. Cause all of them have lores in them, ranging story of how the cooking was screw up so badly to lores related to the world.
Next patch which stsrt on 28th will be a good time to start since its anniversary patch and you will get a lot of free stuff.

It’s really lovely to see you enjoying Genshin! Besides the shorter videos for the nations, there are also longer concerts that they’ve shared to youtube as well, if you’d like to look at more of the music, and there’s definitely more gameplay trailers if that’s something that interests you as well.
For the game, it’s entering its 4th year soon, so there’s a lot of game to play through! Definitely take things at your own pace and do what feels right for you. They’ve set things up so once you complete the second major area’s quest, you can go right to Natlan and experience the story if you want.(You’ll be able to travel there regardless since this is an open world game, and only one nation is story-locked)From what we’ve seen, Natlan is not only going to be interesting in itself, but have a lot to do with the overarching lore of the world, and either answer questions or at least give us more information on pretty important elements of this world, so it might be really confusing without context. That said, unfortunately, there were a lot of lore-relevant events that were only around for a single patch, so unless you feel like watching event playthroughs, you’ll be missing a chunk of lore anyway, and I’m sure any livestream chat/youtube commenters will be happy to try and explain things regardless, so again, do what feels right for you.
As for playing the game, it is not the smallest game in terms of file size so keep that in mind for whatever platform you use. I would also recommend starting sooner rather than later; since the next update (with Natlan) is also an anniversary update, so there’s going to be some pretty good rewards if you can get through the first area’s story. There’s a number of events every update, but for the very first one you play, I’d say just focus on the story and don’t stress about trying to get to them.

Genshin Impact is fantasy rpg open world game. It relies heavely on story so there is a lot of text and talking. Also, because Natlan is 6th region so far, if you don't want to skip everything after tutorial, you won't get there immediately. The story is actually pretty good and lore gets very deep after you progress so I wouldn't even recommend to skip it.

The regions in the game so far:
    Mondsdadt
    Liyue
    Inazuma
    Sumeru
    Fontaine
Natlan (coming on August 28th :))
Playing through the game is so much fun. All the regions are so well designed and even slightly inspired by real places (architecture, geography and some cultural things)

  • @neohybridkai

I think its better to react to the music/concert first, someone is already making the list in comment. I'd also suggest to watch some genshin story summary or lets play video to get the general vibe because playing the game now would need very strong commitment, even just for going to Natlan, the content you need to clear would need days if you're an adult with job and few gaming time (you need to finish the first two region quest, Mondstadt -based on medieval Europe - and Liyue -based on China-) before heading to the sixth region, Natlan -based on ring of fire countries-. But of course you're free to do what you want, this is just an advice. FYI the other region are Inazuma -based on Japan-, Sumeru -based on south asia and middle east and Fontaine -based on France and Italy-. Btw I was surprised you mention Ys Seven, that's quite a non mainstream game.

You’re pretty close in understanding the main points of Genshin when you mentioned the Pokémon types-there are 7 nations of each element: anemo (wind), geo (ground), electro, dendro (grass), hydro, pyro, and cryo (ice). Kinda every year, a new nation is released. Natlan (pyro) is the 6th nation soon to come out.

    ruclips.net/video/TAlKhARUcoY/видео.htmlsi=cRqhA5x-UmIRBeb6
Additionally. If you do play the game do not worry about needing to spend money. The game in itself is free to download. And it is absolutely possible to beat the game without giving any money to the gacha system. The game also gives you multiple free characters in itself. Who are all excellent units in their own regards, defiantly do not ignore them. But overall if you do play take your time and enjoy it. There is no need to rush through the game. Also don't ever feel obligated to play or continue playing if it turns out to not be for you. Games at the end of the day are to be enjoyed.
