Lovin' the NB love. I got bit back in 2016. It started off because I loved their running shoes. I have wide feet and NB are perfect for a wider foot. They even have a wider size for their running collection if you have hobbit feet. Lol.
These shoes are awesome. The midsole looks strikingly similar to the 247, which was obviously inspired by the 998. The 247 (specifically the Engineered Mesh) is hands down the most comfy shoe I have ever worn, but the 998 is definitely sexier.

Finally a channel that shows consistent love to NB. I’m a long time NB collector and it’s so hard to find RUclipsrs that still do reviews. I know it’s starting to become “new hype” with some of the collabs but us old timers still appreciate. Make your next pair a made in UK 1500. You won’t be disappointed.

The 998 is a beautiful silhouette but the 1500 is what I think of as THE iconic New Balance.
I got the 998 Navy / Burgundy: there are only so many grey pairs of New Balances you can get before you have to call it enough and start seeing if they actually know that there are other types of dyes in the world... :-)

Yup... too boring for me. Were you able to pick up the Tokyo Design 1300? I noticed that Haven had them, but noticed too late. Doesn't seem like any other shops in Canada got them. Oh well.

How do the 998’s fit compared to the 997’s? Should i go with the same size i get in 997’s?
Sean you gotta review the 327s! I got the 997s and 827s but the 327s is definitely the NB sneaker that got me even more interested in NBs

the 998s are my NB Goats! better than 990s IMO
As much as I love this shoe, the saying "they don't make them like they used" could derive entirely from this shoe. The inner lining of the heel is the first thing to go in a few months time. Wish they could amend this flaw as it seems to be a universal issue (also more wide sizes please #NewBalance).

The heel cap of this is very uncomfortable. It bothers my heel area when wearing it. It also seems to block the cushioning in the heel area and I can barely feel the absorb cushioning. The cushioning on the forefoot is non-existent too and had to wear a different insole. Thought it will break in after a few months but it did not happen :( Did anybody get this discomfort as well for the 998?
Frankly I was getting into NB/ASICS lately and was looking at your past videos i.e. the grey day pack for sizing advice. Your recent videos not ‘helping’ too... 😂 my wallet needs a bailout.

Although I think 997 slightly better - the 998 are a top trainer - they just look so stylish. Grey gives a vintage /classic look which I love. Really good purchase and review 👌 👍
These are dope. I just recently got into NB. I bought a GR 574 from an outlet and my feet don't know how to act lol. I had to go back and watch this review again. The many shades of grey add so much depth and character to this shoe.
I really like the colours - plain and some but ultra cool. Got 577 in this colourway - it totally works on nb, s 👌🇬🇧
One of the top 3 new balance of my favourite.I not so into those dad-shoe types and I don't know why they become so hit this year.

Srsly, who dislikes a SeanGo review? 🤷🏼🤣 You gave great fit info in the vid, but for a point of reference: How do 998s & 997s fit compared to a AM90 recraft? Compared to to a 574s? I have long, narrow feet (skis) but those 2020 Air Maxes are my gold standard & fit me perfectly. Thanks in advance & for all of your hard work & outstanding content 👍💯👍
Generally 997 fits a touch longer than my Air Max 90 Recraft but I stick tts for both. 998 I usually go half size down.

Bought these shoes on stock x a couple months ago. Regret not going a half size down because I would’ve gotten a lot more use out of these. However they are still very versatile.
I got 1 size up in a 990 (last pair). Will I live
@@BballBully not sure, I never had a pair of 990's before. I could tell you that for 998's and 997's that you should go a half size down.

Those are clean but im not too much of a fan on that tounge i think its a bit big
You get used to it, eventually you start to love it. The comically long tongues on the 997, 998 and 999 are easily my favorite part of those shoes.
Recently got a New Balance 998 Fishing Blue, they are not even remotely comfortable... They are stiff much like the Jordan 3 for example. Does this feel the same and you consider it comfortable, or did I get fakes?
I guess everyone’s feet are different?
