This is fantastic. I've been struggling with foot/ankle issues and just received diagnosis that included a sclerotic lesion and an issue with my talus bone, leading to tendonitis and arthritis - also an overpronator. He knows what he's talking about and I appreciate how helpful and descriptive he is!
Thank you so much for your generosity and wisdom, Stu. Your work is saving my 57 yr old body from harm, and enabling me to have a safe ashtanga practive. Feel the love!
Perfect timing for this information! I've experienced some of the problems you described, and recently have added dedicated time in my practice to strengthening my ankles. This video is a real help, and I'm grateful. I love the anatomy discussion as well as the suggested ways to strengthen the ankles. Thank you.
This ia very informative, yet I'm still a llittle bit troubled. I hurt my feet when I was very young (3yo) and just now (26yo) I'm counscious about the harm that this has done to my allignment. Hips, shoulders, neck, chest, glutes, spine... everything is out of place. Just... not at the same time. It's like hemiapherea take turns. I'm thinking I should include this and work on the other areas simultaneously. I would love some opinions. Thank you for sharing!
Another very helpful video, thank you. A hip openers one would be great please - still struggling with the hips in Ardha Baddha Padmottanasana, Marichyasana B and D and feel this is the part of my body that is the most reluctant to let go. Thanks!
What about the suitable exercises for reinforcing the ankle after an ankle sprain (ligaments were cut) before restarting intensive training? And what is the suitable time for that( this is my second week after getting a sprained ankle)?
look for some easy exercises online Apply hot and cold packs alternately Reduce weight (if you are too heavy) Do more exercise (I discovered these and why they work on Jasontas Remedy Tactic site )
Took my first Ashtanga class last night and my ankles are hurting today! Thanks for the information
