Can someone tell me why would I need to start the washer o dryer machine remotely? Honest question. I mean, you have put the clothes in (manually and obviously) to start it (manually), then enable the remote control (manually)... then go to the sofa and remotely start it? WHY? You have to just press the start button (manually) and it's a done deal!! Can't imagine an escenario where that would be useful. Thanks for the video and the clear explanation, though!
I agree with your opinion. The remote start is not much useful. I dont use it at all. It can be useful in one scenario though. Say, I am about to step out for half a day, and I want the wash to be completed by the time I return. If I put it for wash before stepping out, the wash completes in 1 to 2 hrs and then the clothes start to smell if not taken out. So to avoid this, I can use the remote start to trigger the wash 1 to 2 hrs before my scheduled arrival to the house.!

Exactly! Delayed start can also be used. Just that delayed start has few hours in the setting. Beyond which it cannot be delayed. In remote start it can be started beyond those timer limits.

Hi @TechnoShare, i have the exact same problem of Dominik, my phone connects to the wifi network of my washer/dryer combo (strangely without asking for the password) when I'm in the app but then the app just says "Please wait" and nothing changes even after waiting long minutes. And my phone is first connected to my home's wifi!
Do you have to press remote start after each use? Im asking mainly for the dryer, because sometimes i like to warm the clothes before i fold and it would be great if i can do it remotely. But it does not work if the cycle was completed
Yes. After each use, the remote start button needs to be pressed on the machine for it to be activated. I tried a cycle with starting with remote start on mobile app. After it completes, the washing machine turns off, there by switching off the wifi, and hence, the remote start feature also turns off. Hey there! Nope. The app does not allow to control like a remote. Also! For the remote start function to work, it ia necessary to enable it on the touch panel first. Hence, touch panel is needed all times.

I've tried but the wash cycle options (spin, temp, pre-wash, etc) are grey (disabled).
I've tried asking LG about this but nothing from them yet.
It's kinda pointless having an app to control the washer, without being able to adjust the wash cycle parameters. 🤦♀️

I don't recall exactly. You can try press and hold on the wifi button on the touch panel for 5 seconds. If it starts blinking then I think you would have reset the pairing. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 🙂😉
There is a button on the Machine that you can press and hold around some second to turn off Wifi. Each washer will have different button. EX with Toshiba, we will press and hold Speed button around 3s to turn it off.
How to pair of there is no wifi? I have the model without wifi, but it says the module is smart thin q, and the qr code too isn't available inside the door panel.
Can I use this to tell me machine to start washing while Im at my job? Or schedule hours?
Only if you set it earlier to Friday start. On my app, I can't turn the machine on unless I had the delay start features selected prior to leaving. I was really discounted because I wanted to be able to remotely start the dryer to fluff if I'd forgotten about it for too long, but I can't.

Some washer have Delay function, you can set what time you can wash. Of course, you will set Time on app before leaving your home. But If your machine is connected to smartphone already, then you can set time anywhere.

What's the duration of Single Garment wash cycle program?
There is no single garmet wash cycle program on my machine. The fastest wash is the "speed 14" program that washes in 14 minutes. Otherwise, i use the 1hr wash program in download cycles, which results in a good wash.
Hi, thanks! That just helped me a lot!! Do you maybe also know, how to sort of edit the washcycle? For example, I would like to remotely start the cotton cycle, at 40 degree, 1000 spins and an additional 30 minute drying cycle.... basically the things that are shown in the app, but that are grey and not editable. Yes, you can. But the control is only limited to starting the wash. (Provided you have enabled the remote start option on the washing machine itself. This needs to be done every time you switch on the machine. Does not remember the setting). I dont see much use of this. And I dont use it as well!

Grt video bro,i am having this machine from past 2 yrs,everything wrks great,but 1 big and annoying problem,machine slips on the floor while spinning,tried all the method

Hi there! Sorry to hear about your problem. Ideally it should not move. The feet that it has is made of rubber. It should have provide good grip. May be you can wrap a strong rope around the rubber feet and anchor the rope to something. Perhaps you referred the same in your comment i guess. I can't think of anything else 🤔. but the problem is with belt(native one is hard) around the opening
ask your service provider to change it (from hard to soft)

Yes, It means, it is trying to connect, but it is not happening. If its connected, it will be always on.

It could work, if network is good. I haven't tried though. But initial setup may not be possible with a single mobile. You may require to use another mobile as hotspot.

Hi there! No, I have not seen any vibration or sounds coming out of door. You can see my demo video and observe the sound. Did not hear any.
Your machine might not be leveled properly or you might be keeping it on a stand. Try to keep on the anti skid pads.

But that is a washer dryer model of 70k rupees
now there might be two things affecting this
1)That feature might not be available in India
2)That feature is locked for the washer-dryer model only

Hi there! I think few models now don't have WiFi and have only NFC. You probably have to communicate using NFC, if its present on your smartphone. Otherwise, I see no other option.
There is problem when I power on next time washing machine its disconnect by router, is it do this process every time??

Nope. Time cannot be adjusted. Wash time is completely dependent on the load, temperature of water selected, and any additional options. I usually go for 1hr wash program (downloaded). It has same options as the cotton program like speed, temp etc. It most of the time completes in 1hr duration. Sometimes can go upto 1.15 hrs. Thanks for watching.
@@TechnoShare Ah i see! ty very much for answer my question. I just recently upgraded from an old vintage conventional washer so it was shocking going from 30-45 minute wash to 1hr and 30mins wash. Apparently its more energy efficient these days. My old washer would fill the sink to full but this new washer dispense only half which is amazing!!!
Does FHT1408SWL is the update version of FHT1208SWL?????
I dont think so. This model existed when I bought my machine. I think the difference is just in the speed of the spin cycle. The 1408 has a max spin speed of 1400 rpm while the 1208 has 1200 rpm. My 1065snl dont have a wifi connection..but there is NFC option. How to use that..?
Hi there. I just checked the manual for your model of machine. You can use nfc for error diagnosis, download new wash program in to the machine. I think you just need to turn on nfc on your phone and tap and hold it very close to the touch panel where "tag on" is marked. Once its paired, you can use the SmartThinQ app. But you need to operate your smartphone very close to the machine (not more than an inch apart) else it will lose connection. We need not connect everytime. Once you power on the machine, it connects automatically to the router every time.

With Toshiba washer, there is no limit if you use Sharing function. But if you connect to washer directly, then other user must be disconnected. I think the concept is near same with other brands

Hi there! Only one program can be downloaded and stored in the downloads program at a time. You can remote start any program from app. Need not be necessarily downloaded program. Other programs that are listed on the machine are listed in the app as well and it can be used from the app. We cannot change temperature or spin speed from the app. It will be as per the defaults. Washing machine needs to be connected to the home WiFi network. However you can start a program from the app from anywhere on earth, on mobile network also, provided the remote start is turned on, on the washing machine.

I have the LG washing machine model fh4u2vdn(p)(o-9) we have had this machine 18 months, it went wrong with a code ie which is water flow, we have been waiting 8 weeks for the repairs to be done, then when they did the repair, after 10 minutes it went wrong again, so LG scraped this machine, they gave us a credit knot to take back to curry’s , so I won’t be buying a LG , the service team at LG are good at talking to you , but that’s all they can do , 8 weeks without a machine is a disgrace .

TechnoShare yes this was to long, but have got a credit knot from LG , so went back to PC WORLD &got a Bosch washing machine inside, fingers crossed this brand lasts moor than 18 months.

TIP: If you press and hold the WIFI, and the APP does not detect your appliance, unplug the appliance for 2 minutes and plug it back in. Repeat the sync steps and it will detect your product.

Hi Sir. Sorry to hear about your problem. There should be a wifi icon on the touch panel of the washing machine. If it is not there, then your machine may not have that feature.

@@onlinebusiness9543I mostly use surf excel liquid for top load machine. Haven't tried any other liquid Detergents yet. Very rarely (as backup till i buy liquid ) I use power . Tide is the one i use. So far its fine. Washes good!

I have the newest model. I have it connected to my phone. It did actually work from the phone app the very first try. Now..... Can anyone tell me where, when, and why the F@$# I would ever need to use this stupid feature? .... cause I'm just not seeing the benefits.
I think is for setting it to work while you're at work maybe and don't want to leave clothes way too long inside of the machine, at least that's what I think of using it, set it to finish just when I arrive from work and take clothes as soon as I can
All I can see this being useful is for downloading special wash cycles. Ie you wash a sleeping bag, then wash sports gear etc.

I think there is a setting called delayed start. You can set a delay say 1hr, load the clothes. The program will start after 1 hr. Please check it out. I personally have not used it anytime.

Right. But anyway, the machine does not start without closing the door. The remote start option could have been enabled all times if enabled. So not sure what's the need to disable the remote start option every time the machine is powered off.
It relates to Safety Standard of Euro. It should request to press Remote Control button on Washer before remoting. Every brands are same. They can disable it, but Euro law has not allows...

Hi there!! From the App, you can power it on, provided the "Remote Start" is activated on the machine prior. Remote start needs to be activated manually on the machine. Machine will not remember this next time. Hence we need to activate it everytime if you want to power on from the app at a later point of time. Hope this helps!! Thanks for watching!!

Yes. Just make sure you power on the machine and enable the remote start option by press the "remote start" button on the washing machine before leaving the house. After few minutes the machine will go to sleep mode. On the smartphone using the app, you can wake up the machine, select the wash program and then start the wash. Can we operate the machine while we are not at home?
It can be operated. But for that, the prerequisite is we need to enable the remote start feature on the machine, by power on, and pressing the remote start button. Once done, we need to leave the machine in that state. This will enable remote start from mobile over internet. The machine will go to sleep after 15 mins if not turned on. But the remote feature will still be valid. A wake up option will appear on mobile phone app, and after its pressed it can be started. The remote start feature will be valid only as long as the machine is in in that session. If there is a power cut and machine turns off, then you need to again physically press the remote start button on the machine.

Hi there! Oh.. Sorry to hear that. May be the specific model of yours does not come with wifi. LG has introduced few models without WiFi in the recent past.

Yea. I think in many of the models, they have removed WiFi. NFC hardly people use these days. Moreover it does not work from distance, And many of the phones don't have it.

Hi there! There is no password protection as such. You can remot start/stop or choose a program via app. It communicates using home WiFi network and you will need to enter your Wi-Fi network name and credentials in the app, so that the washing machine can communicate with app over the internet. Hi bro. You cannot configure with the same phone using its mobile data. Instead You can use another phone for wifi tethering, and use your phone to configure by using the wifi signal network. Signal Should be within reach of the washing machine.

Yes. It be operated from anywhere. You need internet on you smartphone. Washing machine also needs to be connected to the internet via a router in your house.
Is it really working..from long distance
As long as you are in the wifi signal range of your router, it will work. If you are using mobile Internet then there is no limit for distance. It can work from anywhere on the globe.
Do i need wifi router?
It needs a wifi connection if you want to use the app or get notifications. Else you can try mobile wifi connection by tethering. (i haven't tried, but it may work if the connection is good). Unless the app collects all the washing, places it in the washing machine etc what the hell is the point of this particular piece of technology? Why would I load it up and then decide to start it remotely? Surely if you don't want to start it immediately that's why machines have delayed start options. Technology for technologies sake. A pathetic waste of time and over complication of what is a very simple task.

I just see one use where a person is in a rush to leaving home, and he just dumps all clothes in the machine, enabling remote start. And provided he wants the wash to get completed just as he return home, he would initiate the start remotely 1 hour before his arrival so that clothes are ready for removal and drying. Hi bro.. In the app, You need to select your home wifi network and enter its password. We cannot connect directly to the washing machine wifi ssid. It has to go thru your wifi router. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching 👍😃

Oh.. Ok. Not sure of the problem. Perhaps you can try with another mobile as hotspot and see if it works on that network. Just to find if the wifi connection or the router is a problem?

Hi there! You can sign in/sign up with Google or Facebook account credentials. Alternatively you can create a new LG account on the SmartThinQ app.

Mine does connect to my phone's wifi (without asking for the password for some reason) but then the app just says "please wait" and nothing happens. :(

@@TechnoShare Hi. Thanks for your response. No I meant that my phone connects to the wifi network of my washer/dryer combo (strangely without asking for the password) when I'm in the app but then the app just says "Please wait" and nothing changes eveb after waiting 5 minutes. :(
Hi! You need to have a wifi router as well, and phone must be connected to it. Basically, the washing machine directly connects to your phone, during the setup process in the app, and the phone transfers the wifi credentials and connection info to the washing machine, so that it can connect to the WiFi router. Hope this helps.

@@adityasai7599 Yes of course, because your WM already is transferred Wi-Fi Credential from your smartphone in previous step. Then It can connect to Cloud/router directly. So Your phone doesn't need WIFI to control Washer anymore. It just needs mobile networks to communicate with WM and cloud enough

Hi there! I have covered this part already in the video. Watch the setup part from 0:55. At 1:25 I select the network and enter the password for the network on the app. When submitted, the phone will disconnect from the router, connect directly to the washing machine over Wi-Fi and transfer the wifi details that I entered, and after this, both the washing machine and phone will connect back to the router. Hope this helps!
