I saw the story of the ghost on CNN in the middle of the night way back in 93. It was my night off, i was sitting there leaning back in my chair with a bowl of cereal on my lap, and the newscaster announced the story. They showed the clip, freeze framed it, blacked out the rest of the screen, and zoomed in on the "ghost". I screamed like a girl, flipped backwards out of my chair, and crashed to the floor doused with milk. I cowered behind the chair as they explained the myth and idnt sleep a wink that night. The next day i bought a copy at walmart and proceeded to show the ghost to everyone i knew. Years later, when the dvd was released i was crushed to see that it very clearly was a cutout standee of ted danson. Oh well. Magnum forever!
Here's the problem with the explanation though.... If you watch the scene, it is continuous, without any breaks. It passes over the window the first time following the actors, when the apparition is hardly present, then when it passes back over the window following the actors going back the other way, the apparition is very prominent. Now, if it is indeed a cutout poster board of Ted Danson, the that means that someone had to run into the shot while the scene was filming, and place the cutout inside the drapes of the window, then run back off set before Ted Danson and the other actress came back the other way. No, he's not saying he's right Keefy1106. Look, we've heard no definitive, or in any way convincing explanation from Tom, or anyone else that it's NOT a spook. I remember the first time I noticed this, I got goosebumps and the hair on the back of my neck was straight back to the wall. Still to this day I get the chills just watching that part. Why would they remove it from the DVD release? It’s a cover up.
They removed it from the DVD release on demand from the dead boy's mother I believe. I think she threatened to sue the producers if the removal wasn't carried out because she didn't want the spook of her son being the key point of interest and having domestic sales exploit the situation, which to me seems a little over the fucking top. Then again Joe, it was meant to be a movie about three men and a baby, not a movie about a fucking spook.
