in the video you talk about choice..... about making a decision (in the seventh minute of the video) but if there is no free will, who can choose?

Thank you Simcha, I will listen to this again for sure, sorry I use this space to ask you and my 3 Amigos! for you're opinions on things, I hope it is OK? I have been having thoughts about thoughts! Here they are, first I do not create my thoughts, control my thoughts or even have the ability to stop my thoughts. Therefore my thoughts are not me. Then that makes my thoughts objects, and makes us separate, a subject and objects, a very dual reality! So if they are not me, where do these thoughts come from? I would say the Allnothing directs these thoughts to the character Neal, and they are tailored to define and create my identity and conform to my character in the story. That is why for instance Neal can accidentally splash water on an ant in the sink, and spend the next 5 minutes reviving him on a sponge and be so pleased to see him walk away! All because this seems like the right thing for Neal to do. But an Hamas terrorist would have thoughts of doing rape and torture and murder, and to him that is the right thing to do. All because he was directed thoughts that were logical for his character in the story. I would like to think my character stands for good, and the other evil. But we are both just a story, an appearance created by the Allnothing for no reason, and no judgments that would say Neal is different or better than the Hamas terrorist. It is what makes us the same and everyone the same. Thank you all

      Hello Neal, 😊
I would say that the difference between You and the Hamas terrorist (to use your example) is the nature of your character (as reflected in your beliefs/worldview); you have a vastly different set of moral principles, and a benevolent heart... and the nature of your thinking is a direct reflection of this. Ever notice how your inner state has a direct correlation on the world you perceive? How your mood reflects itself back to you in the 'outer reality'? Ever see this mirroring?
The fundamentalist/terrorist, in your example, is mind-programmed with beliefs that, once ascribed to, shape his behaviour and mindset. He will thus then act out of that indoctrinated belief system. All beliefs shape socio-cultural identities, and these become the labels through which we identify as. This is seen in any dogmatic view: Nationality, Religion, Political views, Gender and so on. Deeply held beliefs are the cornerstone of identity... and reinforce the divide between self and other.
P.S. I love that you spent 5 minutes trying to revive an ant. That's reflective of your good nature and innate kindness!
