    That’s fabulous. It’s a shame that the Brother attachment is so expensive. I might have to look around for another option but I love the results you got.

    Thanks so much. I'd wondered if something like this would work. July 2023 in Dallas and it's been a heat wave all month. Stay comfortable, regardless the season.

    Did you ever find the bracket holder for this binder foot? I am not great with masking tape or fun tak.
    I would love something that would allow me to attach with screws and slide out of the way. Also thank you SO much for the detail and the time you take with your explanations. You are good at this. Keep going.

      That’s so nice of you! Thank you! I never really looked much for something more permanent because I don’t mind the blue tape. I wonder if you couldn’t find some sort of screws at Home Depot that would work 🤔

    Trace it’s shape on the cv with a permanent marker to place it always on the same position. At least the corners

    What foot is used with the binder attachment? Was there a special foot that is required? Thank you for your help.

      It’s just the foot that came with the machine! Nothing special!

    Great video. I just ordered this attachment for my machine. Have you ever experimented with using this attachment for foldover elastic? I think the 10mm would work and I could probably figure out how to feed the foldover in. My concern would be being able to effectively pull on the elastic around curved necklines or armholes when you are so far from the entrance to the feed dogs. At present for foe I do a 2 step process of zig zag on (which is when I vary tension), fold over the elastic, then go to the coverstitch to “topstitch” on. Thanks for sharing.

    I got the generic on ebay, you want to get what is called top clean bottom raw binder in the 7/16 - 1 1/4. I go t this size which is perfect for baby clothes. I also have a video on using this machine with a generic binder. Brother has a binding foot but you can only get it when you purchase their binder. They will not sell it to you separate from the binder and it is wonderful I show it in my video!! I do have a gentleman who makes the binding foot in 3D so if anyone wants one they are available.

      Yes...I've used my binders on the sewing machine, however, it's best to use the shortest foot you have. Have fun!

      I feel like such a brat complaining! I wouldn’t survive the north at all! So, it’s not all that interesting of a story but the numbers mean something to me (also my house number) and then I’m also really into diy projects around the house. Every time my dad comes over he says “What project are you working on?” So I just added the project. A million times I’ve considered changing it to something more “cutesy” but I can’t do it. This is me.

      @@1922project no shame in complaining! I’d never make it either! We didn’t get much in Fort Worrh this time, but it was enough to keep me home for 2 days to sew from my stash! I’m always curious about shop name and yours has always intrigued me! Happy creating!

    I have bought the Janome 2000CPX and everyone seems to be having much loser tension. Mine is coming out lose and missing stitches on the back over seams. Would love to know how you know what the tensions should be. I appreciate it is individual to fabrics and machine.

      Which needles are you using? Coverstitch machines usually work best with ELx705 needles, I prefer SUV (slight ballpoint) tip, they are cheaper if you buy in bulk...maybe share an order with someone else so you can have different sizes. I have the same machine as you, do you have the adapter plate to attach the binder? Saves all the hassle with painters tape and the binder goes on 'exactly' in the same position every time.

      Don't go off pictures! Read the description to see if it has the one raw edge. I have both kinds and I definitely prefer this one for a neckband. Good luck!

    Hello! I am struggling with settings.. what settings are you using to attach the binding? Hopefully I didn't miss it in the video. Thank you! (stitch length, differential feed, tension)

    • @1922project
      @1922project  2 года назад

      So, I think it's really going to depend on your fabric but all my dial tension is usually around 5-6 and I didn't make any changes to the differential feed or other dials on the side- just all set as they normally are! Sorry, I'm still learning this machine myself but I hope that helps a little! Just play around and see what works best for the fabric you're using!

    I have a brother serger and recently bought that same attachment but I can’t get my seams to look like that. Do you have all 4 strings of thread set up or no?

    • @1922project
      @1922project  2 года назад

      This is a coverstitch rather than a serger! I only have it set up with 3 threads. 4 threads can be used on a coverstitch but I never have tried it.
