Don't worry about how to pay for med school. The amount of loans looks ridiculous. My wife graduated from med school with $600,000 in student loan debt- private medical schools are expensive y'all! She deferred the loans through residency. As an attending the loan payment is absolutely nothing. She pays double every month and will be out of debt in about a year and a half. She has been an attending for 9 years. So yeah, it takes a while but it isn't bad.
The military is a great idea, but it does limit you a bit- at least it used to. Plus, you can moonlight at hospitals close to where you're stationed and get paid like a normal doctor for those hours. A friend of mine was in the Army- got out and went to med school- and then went back in. He spent 6 years as an Army doctor and was working in emergency departments the whole time.

@@Alexia.Mishock I did realize you can finish high school/college that early - u must be really driven- and work at the same time. Congrats, 30 mins is a bit of a drive. Which med school are you going to or you have not make up your mind yet? What are you planning to do before your inauguration?
I graduated high school a year early and college a year early! I’m going to keep the name of the med school private but it’s in Florida! I’m relaxing before school starts! Giving my brain a break before the hardcore studying starts! 😊

@@Alexia.MishockTake it from someone who's been there. Go with HPSP. You'll come out way ahead in the end. 1. You get a stipend in med school 2. military residents are paid as officers, way better than on the civilian side 3. you can start saving earlier, plus not only are avoiding the loans but the interest you'd have to pay on those loans. You can leave the military after 4 years debt free, and all your classmates will still be drowning in monthly payments. Seriously, consider it.
