Got to clear some misunderstanding for you Michael Angelo. Wukong's 72 Transformations DOES NOT mean he can transform into 72 things. The real meaning of 72 Transformations means that Wukong has 72 unique abilities, his Shapeshifting is merely one of the 72. Wukong can shapeshift into ANYTHING, and he can also shapeshift others and objects as well. He can turn a mouse into a dragon, and that fake dragon will have all the abilities of a real dragon as if it's the real thing. Notice how when Wukong shapeshift into his defeated enemies, he gains their moveset and abilities as well? Wukong's shapeshifting is just that powerful. It's almost impossible to distinguish real from fake. Only a few things in Chinese mythos can see through Wukong's shapeshifting. The Demon Exposing Mirror, a magic mirror that shows the true form of all reflected in it. Er Lang Shen (Yang Jian)'s third eye on his forehead that can see through all shapeshifting and illusions. Buddha's omniscience also allows him to see through shapeshifting that even the previous 2 cannot.

I adore this gem of a game! it speaks volumes to me since it was one of the first tales i used to ready and bond with. But..the only thing that cut my hype was that the physical copies/boxes will not have cd but download codes. so so so so soooooo hype! when the chanting started, as a chinese Australian, my jaw dropped and i thought "no fken way they remixed the wang sheng mantra into something so badass and modern". The mantra is iconic in Buddhism and most traditional Chinese families have ties to Buddhist traditions such as praying at the temple (which generally have these Buddhist mantra chants echoing through their halls) when Chinese New Year comes. This whole game and the hype everyone has, that transcends culture or race, is so heartwarming and joyous to see.
Also, a fun fact that I just learned, the rap part of the music is actually a real Buddhist prayer, its pretty damn impressive the developer included it in their music trailer, making it 10x dope

In the Lore, wukong got a skillset called "the 72 transformations", Game Science follow that literally.....Before this trailer I thought we are getting 4,5 transformation max, but I am seeing 10+ transformations in this final trailer alone. CRAZYYYY
Got to clear some misunderstanding for you Michael Angelo. Wukong's 72 Transformations DOES NOT mean he can transform into 72 things. The real meaning of 72 Transformations means that Wukong has 72 unique abilities, his Shapeshifting is merely one of the 72. Wukong can shapeshift into ANYTHING, and he can also shapeshift others and objects as well. He can turn a mouse into a dragon, and that fake dragon will have all the abilities of a real dragon as if it's the real thing. Notice how when Wukong shapeshift into his defeated enemies, he gains their moveset and abilities as well? Wukong's shapeshifting is just that powerful. It's almost impossible to distinguish real from fake. Only a few things in Chinese mythos can see through Wukong's shapeshifting. The Demon Exposing Mirror, a magic mirror that shows the true form of all reflected in it. Er Lang Shen (Yang Jian)'s third eye on his forehead that can see through all shapeshifting and illusions. Buddha's omniscience also allows him to see through shapeshifting that even the previous 2 cannot.

I adore this gem of a game! it speaks volumes to me since it was one of the first tales i used to ready and bond with. But..the only thing that cut my hype was that the physical copies/boxes will not have cd but download codes. As a retail gamer i find it unreasonably expensive to buy something that i will not see in my shelf. feels like you giving me the game "unfinished"

The monsters are not baseless either. Wu Kong is based on an ancient oriental civilization. The news said, the game developer made a huge effort to build a 3D database for Chinese art when developing this game.
BTW. If you have a chance to visit those historical sites in China, you may find many acient “headless” budda sculptures. Thanks to the “cultural reservation” by the western antique collectors over tha past 200 years, now you can find many beautiful Buddha heads in those western museums with “oriental collections”.

so so so so soooooo hype! when the chanting started, as a chinese Australian, my jaw dropped and i thought "no fken way they remixed the wang sheng mantra into something so badass and modern". The mantra is iconic in Buddhism and most traditional Chinese families have ties to Buddhist traditions such as praying at the temple (which generally have these Buddhist mantra chants echoing through their halls) when Chinese New Year comes. This whole game and the hype everyone has, that transcends culture or race, is so heartwarming and joyous to see.
