Okay - this is regarding RIMMEL products causing cystic acne, this is my *theory*. They use a fragrance ingredient called "Butylphenyl Methylpropional" also called "Lilial" - this ingredient was on my radar after I was trying to nail down what was causing my cystic acne. This ingredient is also used in DIOR foundations. I was previously using Dior, and after eliminating products I realized the Dior was breaking me out. After cross comparing products that were acne triggers, and looking at COS-DNA, (someone also commented Lilial caused cystic acne) - I felt Lilial was contributing to my acne. If you're acne prone, I would watch out for this ingredient! I do! ---- Edit 08/13/18, I didn't forget about this - Still trying to figure out what doesn't break me out, and so far I feel like this is the safe foundation combo for me. 1. Light coverage all over with Chantecaille Future Skin 2. Conceal lightly the scaring and redness from current and healing breakouts with Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer, so only adding coverage where needed. These products are pricey, but I am really happy with them. Also what makes these products possible is controlling oil by using retinoids at night and moisturizing a ton, and in the morning light moisturizing and Bioderma Pore Refiner before makeup. And as always, everyone has a unique situation so what may work for me very well may not work for you, unfortunately! Bottom line, be diligent with ingredients and gentle to your skin.
Taylor Noriega not a huge fan of Dior products either - I’m trying out the Kett powder foundation... Kett is one of the few makeup brands that has something for those of us with more olive undertones

I've done it a few times before and I don't regret it one bit. You have the right to do anhthing you need to do to protect yourself because you matter. I have oily skin and i really like this foundation!! I do have to mix the 2 lightest shades though. I work for about 10 hrs a day and it lasts really well throughout my day.

I know all your foundations are already chosen, but sometime you should try the Burt’s Bees BB Cream. It is absolutely AMAZING, and I think you’ll especially enjoy it now that you’re dryer and your skin has cleared up so nicely 🤗

Honestly I recently just bought this foundation and I’m gunna say this is my new holy grail foundation. It looks so natural on me and it covers so great and I have dark spots, redness, and acne scars.
Oh goodness! I just had mine out two weeks ago. If you can take the pain meds and don’t have work Take the pain meds! And don’t eat rice! They didn’t tell me that but it’ll get caught in the sutures, so don’t eat it until a week after! I couldn’t take the pain meds they gave me, they gave me hallucinations. Good luck and I’m hoping you don’t have to deal with as much pain as I did!

I have fairly bad acne and got this so I could have a lighter foundation, and I've been using it for about a month now and it really hasn't broken me out at all. i use it with the wet n wild photofocus primer and it makes my skin super flawless all day
Goodness, this seems like a foundation that people either love or hate! I bought it out of curiosity, and it's OK. I have to apply 2 full coats to get medium coverage, but it lasts on my oily/ "mature"/rosacea skin surprisingly well. When I saw that the "red cap" version was being discontinued, I confess I bought 2 bottles of the Ivory shade to store away as backups. Jacqueline McKellar me too! Taylor has very similar skin texture and issues to me, but I'm like one shade or a shade and a half lighter than her in skin tone. Foundation and concealer matching is pretty tricky for me too because my neck and my face don't match in the undertones. My neck is neutral in the undertone, but my face is cool-toned, whereas Taylor is lucky because she's cool-toned across the board. For me, even though my face is cool-toned, if I want my face to match my neck (and I do), I have to look for neutral-toned face makeup, which is SUPER tricky because it's dn near impossible to find any face makeup that's pale enough to match me as it is, and in the extremely rare case that I find something pale enough, it's always either too pink of too yellow for me. Oy vey! When will makeup companies realize that MANY people (read: customers) exist on BOTH extremes of the skin-color spectrum, and even for those on both of those ends of the extremes, UNDERTONES MAKE A HUUUUGEEE DIFFERENCE, so they need to provide more options for ALL of us, not just those middle-of-the-spectrum tan people???

I really thought you would adore this foundation. I stumbled across it at Walmart and got it, ONLY because I seen that they had a shade light enough for me and it is now my FAVORITE. I have incredibly dry skin, and it looks beautiful. But I also use an illuminating primer and monastat chaffing gel. It’s the only foundation I’ve found that works with my dry skin this winter.
I wanted you to know your skin has been looking AMAZING lately. Been subbed for a very long time, at least a couple years,and followed you on your acne journey and been on my own. I can’t necessarily use your recommendations at the moment just because of how your skin has changed, but still really enjoy watching your videos. My acne may not be the best I’d like it to be but I’m sooo happy for you that you’re funding something that’s working for you!
I also have a problem with Rimmel makeup breaking me out. Liquids, setting powders and bronzers. I can’t even use them and I don’t have bad acne. I get clogged pores and bad cystic acne on my cheeks. I thought I was the only one!
Your skin is so clear that even the lightweight coverage looks good. It surprises me when a foundation doesn’t end up working or is terrible cause you always make it look good anyway.
I absolutely love this foundation if you have acne or your prone to acne really easily ..this Foundation isn't for you.. but if you have clear skin no problems your skin is smooth and this is perfect coverage for someone like that

Idk if it was the lighting or what but I couldn't see any of the dryness or clinging. I totally believe you that it was and wouldn't buy this, just thought it was weird. Laura Stanley it'll wear on me like 6-7 hours without touch up's, 8-9 with some touch up's. It's not crazy long lasting for me, but tbh I've never found a foundation that lasts more than 10 hours for me lmao

I got this foundation and I have a lot of redness in my face. Covers everything. I primed with Elf Hydrating Boost Drops and applied with an oval brush. It’s pretty buildable for me.

I've had a skin allergy patch test done at my dermatologist which has helped me really pay attention to ingredients and has helped my skin so much. It's so much softer and smoother and I had also never noticed just how itchy I was before I started eliminating ingredients.

I personally love this foundation and I've been using it since it was first released in the UK and it's my favourite lightweight and lighter coverage foundation (even more than my high-end foundations) and I always get compliments when I wear it. I have super fair combo skin with a couple of small scars on my chin but the rest of my skin is usually blemish free so lack of coverage isn't a problem if I'm after a natural look
These Rimmel foundations are my go to Foundations, I live in Canada and can get them on sale in the $8 range . The Silver cap is my go to summer foundation as I prefer the lighter coverage and I can build it up if needed. I work in healthcare and can do 12 hr plus shifts and it lasts .

Heather Graff Ugh, I feel you so hard on this. Why do makeup companies use talc in freaking everything?! It's terrible for you and your skin, it aggregates allergies, and even cosmetically it's terrible because it causes flash-back in photos. Like, why?? Cover FX and Omiana are the only ones I've found that NEVER use talc in their makeup. Physicians Formula has some talc-free products, which is awesome, but not all of them are talc-free, which is really so disappointing. They can and should do better.
Can you fix the white balance on your videos? Lately, at least for me, you look so white (more than you should lol) and it's hard to see the details you are discussing about your skin. You are somewhat melting into the background. Love you and 50DOF! At the end of the video now, your vlog camera is much better as far as this goes.

I really like this foundation, and it didn’t break me out! I am SUPER acne prone, I loved the old formula sooo much but it broke me out like crazy. But this one didn’t. I have a lot of acne scarring but this foundation covers enough for me.
Love your videos but I say this everytime I watch that I wish you would turn down your lights or exposure bc you are so washed out when filming. Can't really see the foundation, skin, blush, contour etc. Very washed out and white.

I also have a problem with Rimmel makeup breaking me out. Liquids, setting powders and bronzers. I can’t even use them and I don’t have bad acne. I get clogged pores and bad cystic acne on my cheeks. I thought I was the only one!
Your skin is so clear that even the lightweight coverage looks good. It surprises me when a foundation doesn’t end up working or is terrible cause you always make it look good anyway.

I absolutely love this foundation if you have acne or your prone to acne really easily ..this Foundation isn't for you.. but if you have clear skin no problems your skin is smooth and this is perfect coverage for someone like that
I really hope they don't discontinue the red top, it's my favourite foundation. Hopefully they see the reviews of the breathable and decide to either keep both or discontinue that one instead lol
Amy Lake I love he old formula more and I really hope they don’t discontinue it but I really like this one as well. It looks really nice on my skin. I think it didn’t work for Taylor because her skin is dry now from accutane.

My understanding is that this one replaces the red top one, which sucks because that's my favorite foundation 😕 I don't think I'll even try the new one.

Idk if it was the lighting or what but I couldn't see any of the dryness or clinging. I totally believe you that it was and wouldn't buy this, just thought it was weird. I can usually see any problems with a foundation when you point it out in natural lighting. Heck maybe it's my eyesight or something lol

Laura Stanley it'll wear on me like 6-7 hours without touch up's, 8-9 with some touch up's. It's not crazy long lasting for me, but tbh I've never found a foundation that lasts more than 10 hours for me lmao

Brenda M I haven't found a way to /completely/ stop creasing, but I've found that pressing primer into the lines with a sponge helps quite a bit. :)

Brenda M try dipping a damp sponge in a powder (I like Laura mercies translucent) and pressing it into the forehead! It makes it looked airbrushed !
I got this foundation and I have a lot of redness in my face. Covers everything. I primed with Elf Hydrating Boost Drops and applied with an oval brush. It’s pretty buildable for me.

I've had a skin allergy patch test done at my dermatologist which has helped me really pay attention to ingredients and has helped my skin so much. It's so much softer and smoother and I had also never noticed just how itchy I was before I started eliminating ingredients.

I’m glad you mentioned that Rimmel products break you out. I just had some trouble with the Rimmel primer breaking me out. I’m super pale as well so this was a bummer as I do prefer a matte product and I really liked this one

I personally love this foundation and I've been using it since it was first released in the UK and it's my favourite lightweight and lighter coverage foundation (even more than my high-end foundations) and I always get compliments when I wear it. I have super fair combo skin with a couple of small scars on my chin but the rest of my skin is usually blemish free so lack of coverage isn't a problem if I'm after a natural look

These Rimmel foundations are my go to Foundations, I live in Canada and can get them on sale in the $8 range . The Silver cap is my go to summer foundation as I prefer the lighter coverage and I can build it up if needed. I work in healthcare and can do 12 hr plus shifts and it lasts .

I absolutely love this foundation I have oily skin and it lasts all day and still looks the same as it did when I put it on and in regards to the red lid lasting finish they have only discontinued some shades the product as a whole is staying I work in the drugstore and it’s a best seller so they won’t get rid of it x

Heather Graff Ugh, I feel you so hard on this. Why do makeup companies use talc in freaking everything?! It's terrible for you and your skin, it aggregates allergies, and even cosmetically it's terrible because it causes flash-back in photos. Like, why?? Cover FX and Omiana are the only ones I've found that NEVER use talc in their makeup. Physicians Formula has some talc-free products, which is awesome, but not all of them are talc-free, which is really so disappointing. They can and should do better.
Bismuth oxicloride. Me too. It’s also in a lot of mineral makeup. People think talc is a culprit, I found it’s this ingredient.

Can you fix the white balance on your videos? Lately, at least for me, you look so white (more than you should lol) and it's hard to see the details you are discussing about your skin. You are somewhat melting into the background. Love you and 50DOF! At the end of the video now, your vlog camera is much better as far as this goes.
There's a website that you can input makeup in and it'll list which ingredients cause breakouts.

I really like this foundation, and it didn’t break me out! I am SUPER acne prone, I loved the old formula sooo much but it broke me out like crazy. But this one didn’t. I have a lot of acne scarring but this foundation covers enough for me.

Love your videos but I say this everytime I watch that I wish you would turn down your lights or exposure bc you are so washed out when filming. Can't really see the foundation, skin, blush, contour etc. Very washed out and white.

Angelie King i dont have that issue. could be your settings also do you check under the subscriptions lol but also the notifications are sent to your email account that you set up your RUclips with. theyre in your social folder if you have gmail. they dont notify you via youtube.

I have that foundation, and was so excited to have a day off to watch this video. I agree that it's not the best. It makes my face look even and healthy, but it emphasizes my pores and is uneven. I'm still in the market for a new drugstore foundation so I can't wait to see what else you review.
