Honorable mention: The Looney Tunes Show Season 1 Episode 5, Monster Talent. (And yes, I know it’s not the classic cartoons, but where else are you gonna hear a cover of this song from Darwin Watterson himself?)
The first VA of Darwin Watterson. The Amazing World of Gumball changed up the VAs for Gumball and Darwin because they were actual boys whose voices changed because of puberty.
2:29-3:28 Definitely my favorite usage of the track, Carl Stalling and his orchestra really showed off! The Hypro-Chondri-Cat usage is probably my second favorite.

What do ya think about a video with all of the appearances of "Hang on to your Lids, Kids?" I know it appears in multiple shorts like Yankee Doodle Daffy and Daffy's Southern Exposure, I'd just love to know if it appears anywhere else lol
Why did they use Al Jolson out of all people with specifically this song? He never recorded a cover of “September in the Rain,” from what I can tell. I know he was popular at the time, but I don't get it

I guess they just wanted to flex that Mel could make a perfect impression of his voice
@davidwesley2525 yeah I know but they animated him in it. They could have hired a black singer but chose instead to perfectly recreate al jolsons blackface character. It even looks like him

One of the few interesting things about it, is how close it feels to a real Al Jolson song. I even thought it was him singing it, but it's just an impression. So sad that they had to add the blackface. If they didn't, it would be an interesting scene to show

1:20 Hopefully will be available in a future Looney Tunes Collector's Choice Volume. Same for The Sneezing Weasel
I love this classic song. ❤️😍🎵
I like the first version in Porky's Badtime Story best, if only I could find a clean version of it.

@@davidwesley2525If this were a few decades later, Porky and Gabby could have worked for Geico, if you know that particular commercial.

1:15 Who knew that "September in the Rain" would have "September in the Rain"?

And Tale of two kitties.
Can you do a video with all the appearances of "a little on the lonely side"?
Can jou do "Nagasaki" ?
Second that
Can you do a video with all appearances of I been working on a railroad plays?
It kinda sounds like Tweety’s song “I’m a tweet widdle birdy in a tilded tage” at the beginning of this.

That's Cliff Nazaro, not Mel, doing Jolson's voice.
Did you know?
The man singing September in the Rain in the cartoon of the same name actually is the same in Porkys Preview. Just high pitched.
Who’s listening in September 2024?
They animated al jolson in blackface. Just. Wow
AL Jolson was Famous or Infamous for Singing & Performing in Black Face .

Great song, too bad it was used for racist jokes or setups
Mostly any scene with Al Jolson in blackface or just a black stereotypes in general. Didn't hear this with other racial and ethnic stereotypes.
