As a kid I knew a girl, our parents were friends, who had like 4 or 5 brothers and she peed standing up. I’d wager which bathroom she’d be using.
They lived in a cabin on short pillars kinda out in the sticks. It was a weird house. A couple of her brothers were like I’m going to pee and pissed on the side of the house. She was like, I gotta pee too and stood up right next to them, aimed and peed. My sister and I were like, what!?!? How?!?

but that's actually a great idea. i've long thought we should just have bathrooms with cubicles and sit-down toilets for everyone, and also a few bathrooms that are urinal only. dudes who only have to pee can go to urinal, the rest go to same bathroom, and we don't have to have insanely long lines for the women's loo.

Practicing medicine without a licence is a criminal matter, not civil. So no, you can't. But he could potentially be fined, if found guilty. But seeing as he is a judge, that is about as likely as officially charging a cop for gunning down an unarmed, cooperating criminal suspect.

Corporations have significantly more money than we the people, so why would politicians listen to us and our problems over the corporations who bank roll their campaigns? Citizens United is the source of a lot of corruption in the system today.

At the grad student bar at my undergrad college, there were two 1-seater bathrooms. Since they could only host one person at a time, they were labeled "A-L" and "M-Z". There was never any trouble with it, and this was during the first Reagan term. Of course, it was in an environment of people were smart enough to get the joke, so that helped.

@@dceplay Actually he's quite a talented musician. I once saw him shift from instrument to instrument playing some song - bass to drums to guitar etc. I was amazed at his musical abilities. The X-Men can be an allegory for anyone downtrodden by society: black people, LGBTQ. That the point person in FL crafting discriminatory laws against trans people when people of his skin color were just as discriminated against is another example of how black people in the GOP have even less self-awareness than the average Republican.

I didn't know this. I'm 65 and aware of the X Men but never delved deep enough to make this connection. Watched the franchise superficially I guess. I am an advocate for the queer community, tho, and will try harder. I certainly feel for those kids who are alone and struggling. High school sucks, still. I did cry when Wolverine died, tho!

The majority of people are straight, but since we're created to be gay. The majority of people are cis, but some were created to be trans. That is just who they are. Do you really believe God gives a shit about what kind of clothes people wear, or what kind of surgery they have, or medication they take? The medications which are prescribed to young people, the hormone blockers, have been used for decades, and are very safe. They just stop children from going through puberty. They can be stopped at any point, and then puberty will occur naturally. Part of the transition process involves an in-depth psychological examination, before surgery can even be considered. Bottom surgery is never done until the patient is an adult.
Yes, I absolutely believe that it is the right thing to do to let people live as who they really are. Denying them that, and the treatments that they need is absolutely cruel and inhumane. The outcomes for children who are supported and allowed to transition are fast, far, better than for kids who aren't supported, and are forced to live in a body that doesn't fit with how their brain is wired. In those cases, the kids usually have a very difficult battle with depression, which leads to poor grades, dropping out of school, self-harm behaviors like cutting, and substance abuse, and way too often to suicide attempts..

Once again, if you're uncomfortable with who's in the public bathroom with you, then the problem is not with them, the problem is with the bathroom. Other countries have stalls that actually provide privacy, and they get along just fine.
I think in schools there should be single powder rooms. No issues for who goes where. They can have urinals in them too.
If you have a problem with who's in the bathroom with you, that's a YOU problem. Reasonable adults go into bathrooms to answer the call of nature, not to police who else is in bathroom with them.
Well the door for my shower stall in a Brazil bathroom had a door that wouldn't lock and kept slowly opening
I lived in such a country in the early '80s. The bathrooms were unisex. It made fiscal sense back then. The country was developing. 🤔
