We've seen him tell behind the scenes "America is all about those reactions, be expressive, don't tire yourselves out, but be involved" I remember how their first BBMAs, BTS were so silent, straggling behind RM and he was so stressed. It was after _this_ that he had a talk with the boys, saying he had a persistent headache for like 3 days, that he's suffering, that it's not his "mother tongue" either, guys, you have to help me out. He said this all Ina vlive. In Korea, he so used to taking a backseat leader approach for a lot of this kind of promo, coming to America and having to promote themselves as both serious artists and fun, when the boys were so stiff and nervous was so so so taxing. BTS are equals, so he was not used to 'carrying the team ', so to speak. He's expressed on numerous occasions how JHope's a blessing, using his body, being expressive, rescuing him and how Jin helps him so so much. They're naturals at being friendly and breaking the ice with strangers, so he _never_ takes that for granted. It was after that talk that the boys started to become more and more involved. They themselves said, 'for Namjoon's sake'. All of BTS have expressed how language barriers can be overcome with the right attitude
