    Oh my goodness. I pretend to teach ALL the time! I repeat, & ask questions, & it helps me learn so much.

    Out of every study method for nursing school, I believe that your methods are the best way of studying. You actually go into depth about how to do it and why you do it this way.

      Thanks Jared! I appreciate that!! 😊😊

      Ashley Anderson absolutely! I’m in my first semester and I’ve been trying to find so many ways of retaining the information, and although I may try and read everything, and watch all of the videos... I just retain bits and pieces. This helps tremendously.

    I also have the same issue where I would write my notes first and then study. Definitely a waste of time.

    • @AshleyAnderson

      Absolutely! 🤦🏻‍♀️ we live and learn though! But I do wish I would’ve learned that one faster 😂😂

      Flash cards were my go-to for those. You can break down the larger concepts and then make cards to further break down all of the smaller concept. Do a little bit with the highlighter or color code too!

    I start this fall thanks for the tips. I worry because my books are all online in a huge package and I like the physical copy to highlight and read from.

    • @AshleyAnderson
      @AshleyAnderson  4 года назад

      Are they doing the books online for a reason? I don’t blame you- I like having the physical copy too!

    Thank you for the great tips! I have found quizlet a fun way to study as well. You can put questions in and play a matching game, fill in the blank, etc. Super helpful.

    Getting ready to go back to school for pharm and patho today! Whiteboard is going ot come in handy, thanks!!

    • @lisar.2549
      @lisar.2549 2 года назад

      A trick I did for pharm was make flash cards with little color pictures on them. I did anime, made all the sexier girls for a certain drug class, all the sweet girls for another, guys for another, etc. I’ve also done this with pictures of animals or food categories. Anything to help remember drug names that sound like gobbledygook!

    how do you decipher what's important in a class and what's not as important, like the key points and everything? I really struggle with this

    • @tinii8468
      @tinii8468 2 года назад +8

      Usually the book has what's important in bold or in boxes/ key points in the lesson and really try to pay attention to what the teacher is emphasizing and telling a story about. That's what helped me

    I definitely make the mistake of speeding through my notes which takes so much time and not even trying to retain the information. So it’s almost like it’s for nothing. I’ve been trying to do more active recall to retain info because I forget easily.

      RegisteredNurseRN has some good videos 🤗

    • @AshleyAnderson
      @AshleyAnderson  4 года назад +2

      With each formula (like calculating heparin, gtt/min, etc), I would write it down on an index card and then practice from there and if I couldn’t remember how to do it, I would look up RUclips videos. RegisteredNurseRN has great videos! 😊

    Do you use any apps for flash cards or do you write them out?

    • @AshleyAnderson
      @AshleyAnderson  4 года назад +3

      I write them out- we tend to type mindlessly so writing helps you to study while you’re making your flash cards! But, if typing them helps you, do it!
