@@martinleyva3014 Pretty sure this is just a "Indicator" to when you are driving economically.... not on lower models, only way to change is push your gear shifter into the "S" position and manually change the gears Via paddles or gear shifter.
So I can confirm folks, it does work. Here's what you need to know: Eco Indicator throws us off as it sounds more like all it does is allow us to see when the eco light is on or not. Truth, it does more than turn off the light. Off: The car simply decides to rev more like you want to increase gas and power at the mid-lowest casual drive gear that can apply force without over revving for no reason. On: The car will gradually increase at the top of the highest gear it can at all times, feeling like you have to push down further just to get it to actually accelerate while it making a droning groan sound constantly because when your car sits at the top of the next gear it can touch it lacks power to conserve gas. Eco mode is annoying. And in many ways it wastes more gas making you forcefully push the pedal just to get going. It's only actually useful in hybrid vehicles. You can see a hard 10 to 20+ MPG difference and more depending on vehicle. In non-hybrids all it does is make your car underperform and force you to push it more. In many ways wasting more gas. The problem I had with this car panel is not knowing if "Eco Indicator" meant just turning off whether we see it visibly on the panel or not. Would be a pointless feature. But if you test it yourself, you can feel the difference between the gears in acceleration with pulling more or pulling less, top or bottom gears. Oh and one more thing.. the more gears your car has the more noticeable it will be. If you're hardly in a 4-5spd vehicle it may not be as visibly different while it is much more noticeable in an 8spd vehicle for sure.
THANK YOU. I thought the exact same. My MPG apparently keeps telling me around 20 and even below at times despite ECO mode. I'm gunna try it out to see the difference.
I have a 2020 Camry is it the same process? I couldn’t see what buttons he was using to toggle thru the menu. Would have helped if he filmed the buttons he pushed as he went thru the steps.
it wont be in Sport mode unless you turn it on, once you turn off ECO mode it should be in normal mode ,although most Toyota let the car run with ECO mode to save a certain amount of your fuel
I bought a Toyota camry 2012 XLE the eco mode is on from odometer but the eco light is always off. Note: the check engine light is off. Can you please tell me how to solve the issue?
On the SE and LE "eco" does nothing more than tell you if you are driving in a MPG friendly manner. It has ZERO effect on the cars performance. The XLE and XSE have modes that actually change the performance.
Yes, eco mode is good for driving on city but if u planning to go on long trip high way, you better turn it off, you could research more about eco mode on google as well.❤
Not on the 2019 LE. It is just an indicator as to whether the way you are driving is the most economical. If you accelerate quickly you will see it go off. As you ease off the gas it goes back on. Has ZERO effect on the performance.
I've tried looking as well and my 2021 Corolla is the same as yours. I thought it was a physical button somewhere but I guess that's just for the sport models. According to the screen, it says "INDICATOR" on/off so I assumed it was just for the indicator only....Toyota, why yall gotta make it confusing lol. I'll try this out and see if performance is different.
@@wellfixed2345 It's all in your head then. On the SE and LE it is merely an indicator on how you are currently driving. It has NO impact on the performance. Only the XLE and XSE have modes that change the actual performance of the car.

Glad it helped you
I'm not convinced that it actually turned off ECO mode. Did you notice an actual change in driving behavior?

The setting reads "ECO Indicator". I interpret this as it turning off the green ECO dash indicator, not ECO mode itself.
lets say if you wanted to turn it off then how will you search it up on RUclips/google?
yeah this should say how to turn off “eco indicator” which just tells you how much throttle you’re using

i guess that is not an issue, cuz on Camry ECO mode indicator will pop up when you make steady acceleration
it writes eco indicator on/off. does it really change the car performance?
it does, u dont need ECO mode if u r good at controlling gas pedal, or driving long trip on highways

Is there a Performance mode??
Thanks i just bought a 2023 camry se and i’m still tryna figure out how this gorgeous works:)
enjoy your new car :), plz dont forget help me by subscribe my channel as well.
How it work because i am going to buy Toyota camry hybrid 2024 how much gas saver
Trying to find this for the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross XLE and having a hard time :(
will try to post one for 2023, if i have a chance to work on it :)
Thank you for your response. I believe only the Hybrid version has different drive modes in the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross :(
Does turning off eco mode make the car a bit quicker or more responsive ?
Pretty sure it allows the engine to use more gas so most likely
Yes it is quicker and a lot more responsive at the sacrifice of MPG

It just turns off the indicator doesnt turn off eco, only way is LE and above models to turn it off physically
RCTA LIGHT ON THE DASH.. IS IT SUPPOSE TO STAY ON??
It’s up to you, if you like ECO mode u can turn it on, turning it off don’t hurt anything
Yes it’s supposed to stay on.
Does this work on 2023 Toyota Camry?
i believe the setting should be very similar
