If I am in a position to accelerate more frequently then eco mode is actually harder to cruise in because of the breaking system. I have a fusion hybrid.

Hey Jeff. I have a few questions. From a full tank, how many miles of cruising range do you normally get? How many gallons does it take to fill up when the car's low fuel light comes on or is on "E"?
I'm not sure you fully understand what "ECO mode taking off the throttle" means... It will have literally zero effect when you're already cruising and especially when you're using cruise control. ECO mode has its benefits in city driving, simply because it accelerates the car more gently, but that's all. With adaptive cruise control or even regular cruise control it just doesn't matter. In addition, that SPORT mode would have very little to no effect on the car in those conditions either. On a CVT transmission the SPORT mode will force the engine into higher RPMs and generally hold then higher, but on this 8-speed automatic transmission it didn't even move a single bar on the RPM...
Toyota manual says that eco is actually only for speeds around or under 50km lol so the conversion is like 32.5mph so we can say 35mph or lower is for eco mode driving to the store around the corner and stuff like that so eco mode actually wouldnt be as efficient as the normal mode on the highway and driving that is 40mph or more and then I think sport mode like people have said if your going to highway drive or fast speeds for a good ammount of time I could see why you could get a little bit better gas mileage but yes I have seen these questions asked alot so I figured id throw my opinion out there I love the sport mode especially hitting the highway in manual mode and using the paddel shifters the corolla SE I have really kicks a good punch and I can fly right in to the highway from the yeilding lane no problem aswell as cornering in this car is so good its scary how fast you can hit a bend in the corolla SE due to the struts and the very low drag force on this car which makes it so smooth at speeds over 65mph I love my SE Corolla!

What do you mean you put it in gas mode, there's always hybrid power when you drive a Hybrid , it means it is either both electric and gas power or only electric power (which is EV mode). There's not a gasoline only mode. And normal doesn't mean gas only.
I noticed on my 2018, as in my Prius, the modes basically change throttle pedal response, so sport 1/4 pedal travel prodiuces more throttle than normal or eco. In straight up no traffic conditions, on my work comute, all three modes produce identical MPG with 50% freeway 50% surface streets, around 40MPG on the trip. I get 38 mpg from my Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (2018) after long distance driving in ECO mode. I'm not impressed after having driven diesel cars for two decades and got used to over 50 mpg in both my Volvo S40 (2005) and Citroen C8 (2006). A full tank of petrol in the Toyota gives me about 350 miles.
Can it be a good idea to invent an auto or fast manual-button controlled ECO-mode (off-on or 1 active cylinder) with neutral gear (no engine brake) for coasting downhill on highways which is detected by a gradient-sensor (engine starts up as soon as accelerator pedal is pushed) with steering wheel servo still working? Can it be annoying to drive like this?
I was trying all 3 modes week ago when I was doing 400km trip in Germany on Highway. I was doing 140km/h on tempomat. Lexus IS300h seems to do not make ANY difference between modes. As per computer there was approx 7,4-7,5l/100km all the time no matter what driving mode was choosen. Difference in engine responce on gas was VERY visible. I guess I will use only SPORT mode as there is nice reaction from car on accelerator and not a visible price on fuel consumption... In city ECO mode make sense...

I wanted to add that for some strange reason 2.0 liter cvts have been studied and scientifically speaki g they have learned that they actually get metter gas mileage then the 1.8liter corolla that is offered and any others under 2.0liters so you get good gas and have enough displacement to really get the ponys going when you need too I only drive 2.0liter cvt's my last 2 cars were 2.0 liter its the perfect displacement in my opinion the camry has a 2.5 4 cylinder and thats awesome aswell thats big for a four cylinder power like a v6 but better gas toyota knows what there doing Id buy a lexus over any other mercedes/bmw or any other luxury sedan anyday bc its real luxury with luxury crafstmanship but yes the revamp of the corolla in my opinion is the best yet I didnt even like the old ones I saw this one acouple weeks ago and had to have an SE Corolla
Thanks for the video sir, I just got a new Camry XSE, never still got a chance to use the Normal and sport options
Does the 2020 Corolla XSE have an eco mode button? Driving conservatively (50-65 mph), what mpg numbers should I expect?
I have a 2022 Rav and since I am retired my driving consists of groceries, doctors, church and kids house. I tested one tankful using "ECO" and I got an average of 25.3 mpg. I did the same with NORMAL and got 28.5 mpg. Go figure!
Does the 2020 Camry SE have the three driving modes?
My car doesn't have the switches shown. Is there another way to switch?
Yeah- buy a new car 😂😂
Would you recommend eco mode for even just to and from work not highway driving?
for sure!!!
Do you have to select mode everything you start driving?
Or will it default to the previously used setting?
Me and my friends took a roadtrip on a curvy roads and did a overtake on a truck with only 2 roads and forgot i'm on Eco mode feels like it took forever to overtake
I'm still trying to understand when the ev mode auto engages and when it doesnt. Loving my new rav4 hybrid so far
Dark side #release snyder cut
It'll engage when the electric motor is more than 1/3 full and you are going less than 25 mph .
Also, unless you are in bumper to bumper traffic or driving around the city, I'd avoid eco mode. I get better mpg on normal mode when I'm driving at normal highway speeds without stop and go traffic.
@@JohnDoe-zw8vx how the hell eco mode is not economical than normal mode? It should be noticeable if not night and day. i hope it is not just a gimmick and doesn't really does anything.
@@furiousfragment7082 I think for city driving it would be or if you have a trouble stepping on the accelerator too hard because all eco mode does is keep your RPMs down so you don't overwork the engine, using up more gas. I have pretty good accelerator control and lately I realized I do more highway driving with little to no traffic than I do city driving.
I use normal and sport in my hybrid se
How mutch km or miles with 1 full tank ?
I can t over 750 km... ;(
Please is there ICE mode?
Me when I get home on fridays 0:05
Who were you overtaking ?
So in sport mode u don't have to use the paddle shifters? U can drive like a normal automatic right?
yes
So funny! I just went from a Focus ST to a C HR and sport mode is laughable.
Does the 2013 Toyota Corolla S have these options
More of a gimmick! Put it in normal and forget it.
Hello sir when I buy Camry xse showing me full tank 625 km and after 2 month when I fill the full tank showing me 545km distance to empty?
In NYC queens, Eco mode=20.9 mpg, sport mode=20.3 mpg. By the way, its 2014 v6 camry. Not much difference. This is highway drive.
Very interesting
I get 38 mpg from my Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (2018) after long distance driving in ECO mode. I'm not impressed after having driven diesel cars for two decades and got used to over 50 mpg in both my Volvo S40 (2005) and Citroen C8 (2006). A full tank of petrol in the Toyota gives me about 350 miles.
Sport mode on Camry has nothing to do with suspension feeling...
Can it be annoying to drive like this?
was that camry a hybrid?
Where do I turn on eco the 2021?
How do I know its working
Is switching modes at high speeds bad?
Not for these vehicles like the Rav or Camrys. They're designed to transition normally and it's actually encouraged to shift as required.
Sport's mode all the way!! Eco saves on gas though.
How about for a long drive? Is eco mode advisable?
@@sanyaandsamarah not unless you want to spend more money on fuel costs lol but overall, I use it sparingly.
What is that symbol after RCTA?
I was trying all 3 modes week ago when I was doing 400km trip in Germany on Highway. I was doing 140km/h on tempomat. Lexus IS300h seems to do not make ANY difference between modes. As per computer there was approx 7,4-7,5l/100km all the time no matter what driving mode was choosen. Difference in engine responce on gas was VERY visible. I guess I will use only SPORT mode as there is nice reaction from car on accelerator and not a visible price on fuel consumption... In city ECO mode make sense...
Lol you are comparing a Lexus with a Toyota!? Toyota can beat Lexus in mpgs like day and night.
@@furiousfragment7082 why not? CT200h and Toyota Auris are twins... Same with Toyota Camry and Lexus ES...
@@tomaszbudnik521 oh ok
i bought a 2.5l camry xse and it gave me 354 miles until the tank ran out, and now it gives me less than 320 miles before it runs out, why it does that ?
Winter fuel is worse on MPG
2018 civic has the sport mode so you just shift it from drive to sport mode without having to push any button. It's alot easier so you never have to take your eyes off the road.
i have a 19 avalon and im averaging 27.5 mpg but i feel overtime i'll get it over 30mpg and i usually run normal mode. I've gotten 41mpg on some trips
Ive only seen about 31 on my 18 corolla...wish i got 44...man
There's no way you own 19 Avalons bro
@@EricSepulveda why not? Good cruiser
if I had to drive so slowly, I'd rather ride a bike. 75mph, that's where you fall asleep.
Why didn't they include this on the LE and SE?! SMH
Exactly
