    Love the Backpacker Guitar. Great idea! I saw a guy with a Mountain Bike attached his motorcycle recently, so I guess anything can be done.

    Sounds a ton like my DRZ400. Runs smooth as butter at 80 mph. Two fingers on throttle kind of smooth. Rode my DRZ400 from Salt Lake City to Everett, Wa. Via I80. Have to admit though, coming up to pass a semi that is doing 80mph and you have to bump it up to 85 to 90mph to make the pass, i found myself preying the whole time i passed them. Just the winds they push at 80 mph is big. I ran 15/41 gears. Makes it an awesome highway ride. I wanted a 390, then heard about the 490...then got the rug pulled by KTM, havent look back at any KTM's after that ordeal.

    My 390 Adventure (stock sprockets) starts vibrating at 5,000 rpm (55 mph). Therefore, I find it most comfortable to cruise just below that, say 53 mph. fyi: neoprene rubber sheets are far more effective than ANY foam for vibration absorption; they're available on Amazon in varying thicknesses.
    For comfort, I run running weight (bike + me in space suit + baggage) over maximum tire weights times max weight psi = 21 psi (for my weight).

    Hi. Thanks for posting the video. I am curious about why you swapped out the sprocket to 14 tooth. I don't find the gearing especially tall, even on dirt so wonder why people do this. I'm very happy with my '23 too and have put 8000km on it since I purchased in March. I wonder if you could link to your mods? I'm interested in that screen extender. I run my standard screen in the low position to reduce wind noise at the moment. But highway speeds here in Australia are lower - equv to 70mph max - I imagine at higher cruising speeds you might desire extra wind protection.

    How would it be cruising 70-75 mph for hours on interstate,milage go down?vibrations increase?pro and cons .
    Thanks

    • @thebelligerentmechanic8916
      @thebelligerentmechanic8916  Год назад

      It will cruise at those speeds but it is light and gets jostled around, fuel mileage will be impacted by speed but more so by headwinds and grades especially at higher speeds, mpg for my bike went down about 20% in those conditions. Finally received the fuel lite pro and will be posting a video of the install soon. There is vibrations in the 6-65k rpm range and hopefully it will smooth them out. Thanks for the comment 🙏👍

    Not nearly enough power on the open road, its only a single. The 14 tooth sprocket and quality chain was the first thing i did.

      yeah its a bit anemic on long hiway running, the FuelX controller with exhaust upgrade makes a huge difference and really opens up the top end . It wont win many drag races but it will carry itself pretty effortlessly.

    Why indicators are bulb type in india we got led indicators stock.

    • @thebelligerentmechanic8916
      @thebelligerentmechanic8916  Год назад +1

      USA model has bulbs 💡 not sure why 🤷‍♂️

    • @Rohitjaen
      @Rohitjaen Год назад +1

      I noticed them too, US regs are wired when it comes to indicator blinkers 🥲

    • @slakk5093
      @slakk5093 Год назад +1

      It’s because some USA states require bulbs so the motorcycle manufacturers just make all their USA bikes use bulbs so they can comply with regulations and keep one model. Makes no sense when there’s teslas on the road but you can’t have an led indicator 🤷‍♂️

    This is by far the best small road bike but a little too tall for the average 5'10" man with a 30" to 31" inseam it is not a comfortable ride. By any chance did you get the ECU for that bike as well? Not that it needs help in the powerband. I am looking for a small ADV bike and this is in my top 3 Love it actually but just so uncomfortable and I am hopeful that at least 60 to 70% of my rides will be offroad single tracking. So looking at Honda Rally wich is a cushy ride off-road and then the Yamaha 250 XTZ too. Like you I have a big bike I use in town where there are really no rules in Medellin Colombia. But way to big for group rides that are a combination of the road (mostly) speed bumps is the tool they use here to keep the speed down. The great single tracks here too. Love your show I will be changing the sprockets on whatever bike I ride and probably get an ECU too. If Honda Rally probably replace back spring too. If you have any thoughts I would welcome them. I go on weekend long rides not 10 days ever.

      @thebelligerentmechanic8916  Год назад

      i did recently install the fuel-x pro programmer, it really made a big difference , the powerband is now very strong throughout the rev range. I was also looking at the crf 300 rally but decided against it because of the weak suspension and its highway usability , my riding is about 70% pavement 30% off road which the KTM is well suited for. If i did more dirt i would,ve gone with the Honda and upgraded the suspension. These are fun choices to make. Safe riding friend. PS Love the speed control comment 🤣😂

      In one of my previous videos I showed the view from the front of the bike with the guitar on and it fits very nicely within the width of the hand guards. I’ve ridden tens of thousands of miles on several bikes with it in this position and believe it or not it stays in tune 🤗🤗 thanks for the comment 👍

      Stock tuning will barely pull a 15 tooth CS sprocket . 14 tooth is the best compromise until the tuning is addressed.

    4 minutes 21 seconds and you said almost nothing about the bike. How much does it weigh? How is the low end power? What is the range? Nothing. So, you really like it, WHY?

    • @thebelligerentmechanic8916
      @thebelligerentmechanic8916  Год назад +1

      Wet weight is about 380 lbs, Low end power in stock form is pretty anemic thus the 14 tooth counter shaft sprocket im speaking about in this video, fuel range is 160-220 miles depending on state of tune , gearing , terrain and riding style. I average about 190 miles per tank. I really like this bike for several reasons, light weight ,good performance when properly tuned, handling is fantastic and price point is affordable. I've done several videos on this bike and most of your points have been addressed throughout them. Thanks for the comment. Safe riding friend
