I am new to christainity. I actually found you guys from getting off social media and getting my kids off screen. Living more intentionally and getting rid of the noise allowed me to open my heart to God. Seeing the fruit of your parents and how you are living like them really allowed me to consider a religious life. Thank you for sharing.

Do you ever invite singles to dinner or out? They also need friends who are married and have kids to learn from. Many sit alone.

Problems can arise when the husband thinks like a single guy and continues to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants without checking in with his wife. Also, there will be problems if the wife thinks she is the parent who keeps the official schedule and the husband can do nothing she didn't schedule. I remember when we had 3 littles and it occurred to me that my husband could, without consulting me, decide to go to the store, go out to lunch, go see a movie, or go play racquetball (mostly with a guy friend). I decided one day to try that approach. He was off school and not working and just hanging out. I announced that I was going to do xyz (errands or shopping?) He flipped out. We had one of our worst fights to date (1995). What it came down to was this: he saw me as the parent/caregiver and himself as a babysitter who had to be asked to babysit. So, I was on duty 24/7, and he would very occasionally babysit if it was convenient and he felt like it. We had a long, hard talk about us both being fully parents. I had no outside grandparent or babysitting support. My only breaks had to be provided by him. That conversation helped a lot, although it was hard. I think Moms get shocked by the loss of freedom from the birth of the firstborn since the baby needs them almost constantly. I think it took him until that point to realize that loss of freedom and the weight of responsibility of having little children.

Katie, where do you shop? I love most of your outfits and am always looking for new sources of good clothes.

Me and my husband are super introverted since getting married too. We’ve been married 11 years and we still only want to hangout with each other 😂 I am thankful for that gift from the LORD. 😊

There is a book written in 2014 called the saffron cross. I would like to hear your opinion on it.

I’m confused why would you want to tell your spouse what to do? Your adults not children if he wants to see the guys once a week ? Maybe u can see your friends no one wants to feel like their spouse is their parent
