I’ve been binge watching your channel and wanted to say I really enjoy your content, it keeps me off the news channels and always helps with my mood. 🎸❤️🌟👋🏻
Definitely a keeper. Over the top enough to be a grand display piece rather than an actual workhorse. Seen the Blue Sparkle Deluxe for sale in “Dorking” on reverb ?
Wow! That quilt top SG is SWWEEEEEEEEEEET! I'm not a fan of the shape of the SG but DAMN, I'd go for that. I'm not even a fan of quilt tops but that is just brilliant, and I love the gold hardware with it. Would I pay the money for it? No, sorry, I love beautiful things but I'm more interested in function and there are a lot of other less expensive SGs that can get the job done just as well.
I wish they would have made the headstock the same color as the body but a maple neck on a sg is just wild to see. I’ve always wanted to go to namm show but the average guitar player can’t go. You either gotta be an authorized retailer or a famous guitarist or get a special invite from someone there.
Salutations Austin! This is without doubt one of the most beautiful SG’s I have ever seen, ever! Thanks for sharing this incredible instrument with us all! Please have an excellent and awesome day! ☀️✨🎸
when we get to 100% maple SG, we've hit apex SG This one is close and it's got its own sound and thing going on; wish it wasn't so flamey and custom shoppy because you had me at maple and plain maple I can sometimes afford
I absolutely love my Gibson. I only have one, and I've had it for my entire playing career. I really like that Blueberry Burst 339. I never cared for the shape of the SG, but this one is gorgeous.
Root Beer is a good color description. It would have been cool if the body was made of Sassafras. Very nice head stock inlay. I'm not a fan of SG's, but I think it would actually look better if Gibson made a headless model, and solve the neck dive problem at the same time.
Please invest in induction meter. They are quite cheap. With resistance it tells more about pickups. Or wait for another fashion for induction meters along with tesla meters fashion ;-)
I was thinking the same thing about the neck tenon. I rather that one exposed. And I agree about them doing an extra long tenon . I've tried in the past to send you links to guitars I thought were quite interesting but usually get an auto reply saying the page isn't monitored.
Nice looking SG. I do think those bright white bobbins look cheap for some reason. Cream/black would've been much better, in my opinion. Or even double black.
I don't know why they didn't match the stain on the headstock to the body. A custom luthier would have cut the headstock veneer from the same board the top came from. They could have also chosen a board the same colour across it's width. I normally prefer more interesting tops, but the lighter stripe doesn't work here. It's a nice piece but those details let it down.
Good grief that's gorgeous... definitely double check on the Species of that top... because there's obviously color variations like the lighter color sure looks like sapwood of black walnut or koa
4:03 that's spalting, 100% quitle maple, probably spalted quilted Maple. Given all the colour variations throughout the wood, both on the body and headstock.
It should have been solid maple, the mahogany back was a serious disappointment. If it has a quilted maple back, then it would be almost perfect for a root beer SG.
In this case, yes. 5 piece necks are a lot stronger. It is much more rare to see those break vs onepiece mahogany necks (not impossible though if mishandled)
Thinking about the mention of the non-abalone side markers, how many players need a side marker? Particularly for a player that can afford to buy this guitar?
Yeah, I understand that, but do you need them? No, I didn't think so. This is not a beginner's guitar. I see the side markers, and to a certain extent the fretboard inlays except below the 12th fret as uneccessary. Am I wrong? I'm 100% willing to be wrong. @@Trog
@@jimbrennan1181You are not wrong as it's your opinion. I am not a beginner but certainly no pro. I definitely need side dots and preferably fretboard markers too. Plus I like the look of (both of) them.
I use the side markers. I don’t need the fingerboard inlays, except for the appearance-I can’t see the front of the neck in playing position anyway-but I need visible side dots. However, I do like the look of a nice inlaid fingerboard.
Thanks for all your hard work and attention to detail! Love the show and look forward to to it every day. That SG is simply the most beautiful example of a fancy boy of its model I think I've ever seen! I'm just in love!!! See you tomorrow, take care.

I just bought a "Vester SG" yesterday, made in Korea. The guy, a drummer, said, on my "early enquiry" that it may be sold to another guy. The price was ridiculously cheap. I offered another $100 Australian & he accepted. It was about a 200km drive. Definitely worth the offer & effort +++. It's like brand new except crackley pots. So Lucky! Trog, you seemed to play this one a bit more during the demo section. I think you probably like it a little more than you're letting on. I say this because typically SG's aren't your thing.
A photo has been found including some of the other SG at 2019 NAMM

That headstock is amazing
I agree

@@joshuataft5541 did your spelling suffer as you've "ag3d" as well?

Thank you Trogly so much for mentioning me

Straight outta Maine. This was for sale for a while 15 minutes from me. Gorgeous guitar.
How much was it?
@@TheAlexFromGalax He first listed it for 7 then dropped to 6.5 then 6.
the whole thing is just so beautiful
Looks like a "tiger eye" finish to me. A very nice looking guitar no matter what it is.

Color: Figured Maple syrup.
Those frets are awesome

what beautiful guitar! I love SG's
Maybe Gibson should start showing off by improving their quality.

Reminds me of small independent luthier builds with the finish and wood choice
Now that is a piece of work
Now that's an SG 😮🤘
This may be one of the nicest SGs I have ever seen! I love the neck and headstock! Gibson needs to do more abalone too!
Hey Trog, what's your signal chain to record the demos?
Or...I bought a 22 SG modern. Black fade. All the goodies. Beautiful. One of my best.
It's love to see a SG like this but a real neck thru.
Wow! I love this one! 👍👍👍
Very nice guitar Austin. I think it sounds really good. Nice find
That SG is one AMAZING guitar. Absolutely gorgeous.
That might just be the best looking SG I think I've ever seen. Sounded pretty damn good too.
Caramel Burl w/ nougat on the head stock. Spanky cleans. Gibson growl.
Yes, a neck-through-body and strings through body also. Still waiting for an all carbon fiber SG.
Beautiful sg

I loved the Sound of that neck pickup not gonna lie
Well my jaw dropped. Just WOW!!! This and the purple one just make me squeal. Just pure eye candy for me, I am a quilted maple junkie.
I was thinking the same thing about the neck tenon. I rather that one exposed. And I agree about them doing an extra long tenon . I've tried in the past to send you links to guitars I thought were quite interesting but usually get an auto reply saying the page isn't monitored.
Trogly, what do you use to clean your gold and chrome hardware so they shine? Thanks!
virtuoso guitar polish - by hand only
Those abalone block fret markers are super beautiful.
They look like Japanese paintings .
Gorgeous SG! Love your channel Trogly!
Thanks Trogly....that is a stunning example !!
The cream headstock makes this a root beer float!!!!
Not a fan of SGs per se but apart from the bling and flamed wood, the guitar/pickups sounded very good! Surprised how much treble the bridge pu has..
Nice looking SG. I do think those bright white bobbins look cheap for some reason.
Cream/black would've been much better, in my opinion. Or even double black.
How do you cleanup the guitar as I often hear you refer to? Thank you!

Sounds Great! It's a Keeper! And i'm not into SGs too much...Butttt.........
beautiful guitar for sure. im afraid to even ask the price!!!
I've noticed a change in your tone lately. "Fuller" sounding. Have you changed anything? Or has the SG Supreme and this one just got that sound?
No changes
@@Trog Must just be those maple topped SGs.
What's not to like ? Well probably the price lol, but yeha it's a very nice thing indeed.
Another killer SG! Where are you finding these?
With the Maple neck, this would look better WITHOUT the tenon cover.
That neck should be less wobbly than a mahogany one. Sold my SG because of that.
Sick top

Sounds better than the SG Supreme you just reviewed.
I don't like SG's, but I would buy that one in a heartbeat.
I wonder if there were ever internal discussions at Gibson about making it neck-through as opposed to having a neck tendon cover.
Wow,thats amazing!!!
I am so jealous!
Did you get a new amp or recording mic? Much brighter sound.
It's the guitar ..maple.neck, maple top. First thing I noticed was the brightness.
Sweet looking Ax!! When are we getting the DG335 demo?!
I love it!
It should have been solid maple, the mahogany back was a serious disappointment. If it has a quilted maple back, then it would be almost perfect for a root beer SG.
will the exquisite woods prevent that headstock from popping off? how about the neck?
In this case, yes. 5 piece necks are a lot stronger. It is much more rare to see those break vs onepiece mahogany necks (not impossible though if mishandled)
That's a beauty. I'll see it in my dreams. 🎸😴💤💤💤💤💤
The ultra long tenon...
Are you listening, Gibson?!?!
Top looks like a Guinness stout!
8:38 abalone side dots don't always stand out very well, especially in poor light
Very very nice SG !
Yeah, this thing is over the top sweet!!!
Thinking about the mention of the non-abalone side markers, how many players need a side marker? Particularly for a player that can afford to buy this guitar?
Many would argue the side markers are more important than what is on the fretboard (especially for no inlay guitars haha)
Yeah, I understand that, but do you need them? No, I didn't think so. This is not a beginner's guitar. I see the side markers, and to a certain extent the fretboard inlays except below the 12th fret as uneccessary. Am I wrong? I'm 100% willing to be wrong. @@Trog

missing the speed nobs. not a fan of gold on guitars, the local has a SRV signature strat, don't like the lookof gold on anything but black.
Gold on anything is just tackey. I would never own a guitar with gold hardware I don't care what it was.
what a glorious SG

What a Beaut of an SG 🤙
Do they still use the nitro finish that hated cold weather and large temperature changes?
Absolutely gorgeous
It's gorgeous.
Trog. On this Guitar why do they do so much the neck not the Same Stain as the Body. If the neck would be like Body it be Sweet
When you want to sell it later on what will its price range probably be?

Gibson “trying” to be like ESP
Heh, "trying" indeed. Gibson can't even come close to ESP. Not even their Crimson Division.
Not even in the same universe.
Love the timber on this.
Tigereye finish
Beautiful
looks better than it sounds, most firebrands sound better
