Interesting. Is this similar to the LaFuma version from France. I noticed the Germans were also producing it when they were in France. Wonder if Sweden was some how also involved in the design of a better version.

I actually don't know the french version. But as far as I know the design is originally from Bergans of Norway. The main difference seems to be that the Swedish design does not include outer pockets.

    Hi, nice to meet you.
    I am looking into M39.
The X-shaped leather part on the back of M39 is usually white, but I have seen brown ones.
What do you think is the difference?
Please teach me if you know. Thank you.

Hi, nice to meet you too.
As far I only have seen m/39 backpacks with a white leather part on the back. However, I noticed slight differences on the m/39 rucksacks i own regarding the colour of the canvas, the leather straps and some minor metal parts. The rucksacks were issued during the war era and still used during the post-war era and there seems to be different models of the m/39 backpack. So my unqualified guess is that besides different model series differences may have its origin in different production standards.
If you want to do more research maybe digitaltmuseum.se/ can be helpful. If you use the search term "Ryggsäck m/1939" you will find some entries with additional information. Interestingly they list a m/39 backpack with side pouches and additional leather strap for the Swedish Volunteer Corps during the Winter War.
      All the best!

This is purely my suspicion.. I just watched another video, where the canvas was very light in colour. The guy though it was bleached by the Sunshine with age. But it was very even in tone and so light it was the colour of dirty snow. There's your Clue. I suspect that there was a winter version and some parts may get mixed up over time. Or replaced damaged or worn out parts.
Really I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's all just character.

Hİ, I have a bag made in 1955. One leather strap is normal but the other strap has a clip. Do you have any ideas what this hanging clip does?

Hi! Do you mean on the shoulder strap?

Yes, there is a metal part on the shoulder strap? I wonder what is its function? Do you have information?

I can not really imagine what it looks like but if I had to take a wild(!) guess I would assume that it maybe was intended for attaching the field bottle.

Thanks a lot. It was a fun project mostly during evening hours after work days.
Yes, I even used it for a winter trip once (~24 hours).
I live in northern europe on the Swedish east coast.

Jag undrar vad för produkter du smörjer läderremmarna?

    • @Nordstreben
      @Nordstreben  Год назад

Hejsan.
