Excellent camera I have both the N 8008 s and F 801s. Actually the F801s and N 8008s were positioned below the F4. The F100 is positioned directly under the F5.

I used the N8008s professionally in the 90’s. I had the rewind modified to leave a tab out and had a pc contact for flash photos next to the hot shoe. Most subjects in annual reports for industrial clients. My backup was an Nikkromat FT3.
For medium format we used Hasselblad. Also used the D100 (6mp) for smaller images. I’m still using the n8008s at times.

Carmine, Love Your Channel !! Purchased my N8008s used in early Nineties because I was having difficulty focusing my FM manual. I have 4 of the D series lenses, my favorite, the 28-105 3.5-4/5D. I like the prime lenses too but my pockets are kind of shallow so I rely on the previously mentioned lens and the 70-210D series. I also use these lenses on my D90. I don't know how many rolls of film I've put through the n8008s, and perhaps it's best not to at this point in my life. I'll never see 79 again but still enjoy photography. Thanks for sharing your knowledge on cameras. Very interesting. God Bless.

A friend of my in America got a clean N8008 in a charity shop for $25. She was just expecting a cheap basic 90s plastic camera to pop a 35-70/2.8D and wow. She was so excited to find how expensive it is. I gave her an SB80DX , a Data back & she’s amazed how good Matrix balance fill flash was for 1988.
Nikon always had flash TTL in the bag.
We swapped out SB80DX for the SB26 to use rear curtain sync as it had to be selected on flash then

Another very informative video, Carmine. My, 11 inches of snow. Was just on the phone this morning to New York, ordering more film. Been interesting learning about Minolta SRT cameras, as I have been trying to purchase a decent one to go along with my other Minoltas. At first glance it appeared to be a pretty cut and dried process. Than you start learning about all the upgrades and downgrades of the same model, along with different names for the same cameras. Kinda fun. So far the ones I’ve purchased and returned have had to many issues. Another one coming this week. Perhaps it will be the one. Snowing here today. Love it. Enjoy your snow.

Absolutely. I had the early 1988 F801 then F4E. It’s a workhorse. A baby F4 & later got the F90X to & still using it as a F5 sidekick. They’re just so dang reliable. Colour slides in TTL matrix balance fill flash. The MF data back takes these to the next level.

After decades shooting almost all the Nikon manual SLRs, I bought a used 8008s as my first autofocus body. At the time, it had been replaced by the F90/90s models. It was claimed to update the 8008 model's poor autofocus and some other functions. It lacked some of the "cutting edge" features then driving sales, like rear curtain flash synch, but I discovered that all of that and more had been added to the 8008s through attachment of its databack. It became my regular camera and served me for years, until I replaced it with an F100. I ended up giving it to the son of a friend in hopes of expanding his interest in film photography, for which he had demonstrated a remarkable talent in high school. My hopes were dashed, and the 8008s passed on to his sister. No idea what she is doing with it, but it will serve well if allowed.

From 4 F801s I saved one forever; the rest has gone to photography students who liked this camera best;-)) And of all my analogue Nikons the F801s is the one being most on duty. Thanks for your very enjoyable communication. @philosimot
