You know I don't know what it is but it is the simplest things that are often times the most beautiful at least to me . The simple beats of the song, the meaning in the lyrics, and these screensaver graphics all come together for a pretty damn good vid ! Kinda like a Bowie knife . All in all it's just a simple hunk of metal but damn is it useful and dynamic in the right hands !
amazing how influential PWEI ended up, being covered by Die Krupps here and by the Prodigy in the 90s, both far bigger bands than PWEI. As a big fan of DK and PWEI just wish Id found this earlier
Had Brexit happened yet, when you wrote this? Yeah, it's happening again, except this time it's the UK and (even moreso) the US who are the bad guys. I hate it.
Pop Will Eat Itself released this song in 1994. Die Krupps covered it at some point, but I don't think they covered it in 2007. The song refers to english attitudes towards immigration, and it has been updated by Die Krupps. I'm still figuring out what is the extra line between "If you think this doesn't include you" and "Then we are all outsiders".
@FlederKrist "If you think this doesn't include you. ... Then we are all outsiders and not for the first time. It's happening again." Thats what I can hear.
@Noggtroll "If you think this doesn't include you. Draws an X on the back like we're all outsiders. Take this to a power of 10, and not for the first time." Grammar's kinda off, but that's what it is.
@Noggtroll They're 4 lines. Starting from: "If you think this doesn't include you" until "it's happenning again"... I can't understand the lines in the middl.
Every lovefull believe is good. Never give up your hope. The Religion is not bad, but the people who use the believe of the members to make their own profit or make them hate minorities. We don´t need a picture of enemy. No enemies, no wars.
@Eikinscialdi According to Wikipedia, it was based on the uprise of racial tension throughout Britain during 1994, which is when the song was published . . . well before Bush or Obama. Normally I'm a big Die Krupps fan (love their Metallica tribute) but this one is a bit lacking. Still, a respectable cover.
That's what the song's about really. Discrimination is a symptom of humanity's state. It's perpetuated in culture and it must be stopped. It's happening again... In fact, it never stopped and it's sickening. It's funny in a disturbing way when people seperate out Christians and discriminate against them as they perceive Christians to do likewise... Uhm, yeah, think about that people.
people the band is german.. therefore they translated the lyrics straight from german tgatswhy the english vocals dont make that much sense to an english speaker.
Umm, the original song is in English. Except for " ich bin ein Auslander,"" which is misspelled/pronounced. Die Krupps tried to change their style to something more popular, and it didn't turn out....great.
The original version was done by the band Pop Will Eat Itself in 1994, from their album Dos Dedos Mis Amigos, released through Trent Reznor's Nothing Record label. The song was completely written and sung in English (minus the title, obviously). I highly recommend you listen to the original version. As much as I like Die Krupps, their version pales in comparison to the original by PWEI.
By dragging some stupid metaphors to the song you are getting away from the real point of the song. It's pretty straight forward. There is nothing deep to catch in it. Your little emotional quarrel with some christians is little compared to real direct physical violance versus other people.
Love this song no matter how many times I play it
Me,too. Great stays great. Its happening again and again

If the answer isn't violence - neither is your silence.
love the original and this is a worthy cover ,,

Nice I love their take on this song, very good!
Awesome cover!
It really is happening again
Had Brexit happened yet, when you wrote this? Yeah, it's happening again, except this time it's the UK and (even moreso) the US who are the bad guys. I hate it.
It is funny how every thing comes full Circle

PWEI had it right the first time.
Scott Klein PWEI's version came out in like 1995.
Imagine it would have sounded better if they had just done it all in German...but hey it's a good cover.
The German accent is so strong that I actually have to imagine it being English.
Holy shit! A PWEI cover! Is this from a PWEI cover compilation????
Nice viuals
True Aelkamal. if it pissed you off i am sorry was a very very late night ramble with pain med's.
Its almost not a cover. Die Krupps has 1 added lyrical line.
"And its happening again."
^ To my knowledge that is not in the PWEI verison
Absolutely correct in the era of worldwide rising racist nationalism.
@Noggtroll "If you think this doesn't include you. Draws an X on the back like we're all outsiders. Take this to a power of 10, and not for the first time." Grammar's kinda off, but that's what it is.

@cadguync Well, beyond the fact that the words are actually clearly said this is an improvement.
Pop Will Eat Itself...
PWEI cover, and yes, as much as I like Krupps the Poppies do it much better!
Ich bin Ausländer! 🤘
@evildnalor Yes, this song from 2007 is about Obama as a president.
Every lovefull believe is good. Never give up your hope. The Religion is not bad, but the people who use the believe of the members to make their own profit or make them hate minorities. We don´t need a picture of enemy. No enemies, no wars.

It's not only christianity. Each and every religion which adores preaching is evil in same sense.

ugh this proves why I could never get into Die Krupps... emotionless stuff. at least Clint had balls when he belted this, long live PWEI :)
Doesn't reach PWEI's original.
Normally love die krupps, however much prefer the original of this track.
Die. KruppsI. Ich bin. ein. Auslander

THIS IS p w e i cover
Wayne Static, reef was stolen in Trans is Emotion.
good cover, but i prefer the original.
@Eikinscialdi bullshit, it's not a religion that kills, it's how you interprete the message... nobody's perfect sadly.
Shit! Ich bin ein Ausländer. We are all be fucked! Hahaa... .
musically, not too bad of a cover, but it's not nearly as good as PWEI's original version. color me unimpressed
sad
the original is waaay better
I wish that the original was all German. If you make title German, it needs to be all German.
Vocals sound like Weird Al Yankovich. Lol
OH MY GAWD the vocals are SOOOOOO bad.
This version fucking SUCKS
This version fucking sucks, those vocals are terrible. Poppies do it WAAY better
