Surprised and disappointed that not one of these women said something to the effect, "Well, whether or not, you think my clothes are in fashion, they're to my personal liking and taste and that's what counts; thanks."
What a funny episode. Nothing would be worse for any female than being chosen for Glamour's "don't" photo. The photographer actress was so perfect. How she keeps a straight face & keeps it going I will never know!!

Some are and some aren't. America is a huge country with lots of different kinds of people. These people are a lot more representative of the average American than the nutcases you see featured on "reality" TV shows.
Nope, you can barely speak to someone of the opposite sex without them calling the cops, also these look like small towns, try that in Chiraq or Philly and you will get shot...
This was pretty mean, especially if it is someone who is already feeling low or not good about themselves. I know the prank is revealed at the end, but still...
Small point of clarification, Kathryn. They didn't know they were being filmed - what they agreed to was having it shown on TV. (That's how Candid Camera works!) -Peter
@@noe29933 Not sure this was done a long time ago. They are putting out brand new videos now. Allen's grandson Danny is part of the team now and some of the videos you see are brand new.
This gag is both inane and cruel. Most troubling is the way in which the women acquiesced to the criticism and allowed themselves to be demeaned. NOT FUNNY!
That girl knows she’s a damn hottie. You can tell her the jeans don’t work, no problem. When she has to fend off every man in town, you can tell her the skin tight jeans don’t work; it’s all right...
Doesn’t matter that they were told it was a joke. Those women are never wearing those close again and slowly getting new wardrobes, hoping no one will notice. They will forever be traumatized.
Rather an uncompassionate choice of subject....women. Study after study show that our society inculcates low self-esteem in women. It’s all about consumerism: make ‘em vulnerable, so they become susceptible to anything our advertising tells them they ought to buy... Perhaps you’ll recall the study done on Playboy bunnies, those “glamorous” sex-objects of our male dominated culture...not one of them had ANYTHING good to say about themselves, especially physically! Not one of these women stood up for herself. So, so sad!
I am italian. I wonder why you all in other part of the world dress so badly, both men and women. Even when we go to ER or going out for jogging we make sure we are dressed properly and always fashion. Look at them women in the video....my girlfriend wouldn't wear that stuffs even at home alone.
Many thanks to the people whose wonderful sense of humor allow them to be on this show!
Exactly! Thanks for giving them the shout out. -Peter
I could tell they were all inwardly thinking “Please someone strangle me now” but they were so nice about it.

I really don't think they're funny. A lot of these older Candid Camera segments are kind of mean, actually.

They were all so lovely women and girls!

Absolutely 😱😂
Even though this was a joke, people’s feelings and confidence would have been hurt

they are all wearing awfull stuff, may be it is normal wear like that in USA
This is so Savage and living in Canada for 10 years still got me... how cool people r man

Today, a big "don't" would be going out without a mask or any facial coverup 😆😆

Wow this was filmed 19 years ago! Don't you wonder how these people's lives have gone since then or if they aged much??
No!

back in the days when people were respectful even if someone critique them, do this now and see what happen,
I'm a guy and I like what the first lady was wearing so she's doing it right.
Am I color blind or did anyone else think the color of the dress that was supposed to be brown looked more like a shade of purple?
Your not one bit colourblind it looks like a red wine in colour to me
It looks purple, but I think it's because the white balance of the camera is off.
Of course that could well be the case we must remember that film was done a good many years ago you can tell by the picture

Man, women are too nice.
You can criticize people's outfits, but don't dare tell them they wrote "your" instead of "you're."
Nothing like going up to a woman and basically saying, "What you are wearing is ugly. Can I take your picture?" lol
That's what made this so great.
Bad!!!😂😂😂!!! Too much!!!
That was funny but you could see them being crushed by those comments, I still laughed hard so I can't criticize
In California you can wear whatever you want whenever you want. Thank goodness!
This wasn't awkward.....
Hilarious!
You'd never get away with this today, women aren't that accepting of that kind of criticism now.
Which is good
I wouldn't even dare to try it!
