Thank you for an insightful video. However, if the electronics of an FE2 die, one is stuck with just one mechanical shutter speed, as all shutter speeds on it are electronically controlled but one. If the electronics of an FM3A die, you still have a fully functional manual camera.
I'm almost completely with you there, but only almost, I'm sticking with my Yashica TL and it takes good pictures and I also have all the right lenses, less is sometimes more, you made a great video there, best regards Bernd😁
Yes the FE2 is worth the money. Anyway, you have to found one with the new shutter (FE2n). The old honeycomb titanium shutter is known for its multiples issues and cannot be repaired correctly. The FM3A is the one to go since Nikon switch to a high performance aluminium shutter. The best of both worlds : FE2 AND FM2 ! The extra money isn't really a problem if you consider this.
Love my FM3a. Shame it is getting expensive to shoot film. Always wished for a high quality camera back, but the technology never came. Now I use an D7100. Does what I need, but frankly I don't have any love for it. So many options. So many I don't care for! And the button placements are crap for me.
Sure, but it was new, with a warranty and repairs still possible. Now it's expensive, second, third or fourth hand, no warranty and no repairs. Don't get me wrong, I'd get one today if it was not so expensive.
I totally agree, I got a mint+ FA with 24mm f2.8 AI-s for $200, if it breaks, I wont break the bank to replace it. At these astronomical prices, Nikon should realize there is a market for a FM3a again, stop messing with the ugly Zf's.
So far I've never had an issue with the FM3A, but I've had two (tested, mint++) lesser Nikons break on me in a month. FE2 and FM2
Bad luck... Sorry about that !

thanks a lot
For the price the FM3A, you can buy a couple of nikon FA's and roll the dice
Sure. Nikon FA's are usually forgotten despite their qualities
I have an FA and love it!
thanks. can we also get a review of your 1980 plastic sandals pls? I had the same!

You’re absolutely right! Sound advice.
Glad you think so!

Well, everything is getting more expensive nowadays.
600 dollars in 1990 is 1500 in 2024. Just saying ;)

💯🇹🇷⭐️👍 I have 1 of this NİKON F3 device, it is very clean, it is for sale, if anyone is interested, there is a video on my RUclips channel.
Just buy a Nikon FE or FE2!
I'm in love with my black finish FE...
Indeed !
ı have been using for 17 years and fm 3 a is one of the best 10 cameras in the camera history
It is !
They are up to $1,000 on some sites!
I'll keep my FE2 then !

Don't get me wrong, the FM3a is an awesome piece of equipment but it comes at a steep price. FA's are awesome too.
I just bought a brand new one for $500.
Where did you get it?
Good pick ! Have fun with it, it's an awesome camera
FE2! ❤
