holy cow, we both posted videos about this like within minutes of each other! Mad props! I'll be linking to this video in the description of mine. PS: I didn't use any path_tracks and I boxed the origin brush entirely around the vehicle and that seemed to work well.
Flashbacks to the CS betas, when everyone would pile into the APC on Siege and the driver would glitch it out of the level geometry and kill everyone inside.
Can these start "off"? So that you might have to find a "gas can" or something to "fuel it" in the same way you can set up a keycard to unlock a door etc.
How does it work with ramps and if it drives out of a edge into air? :) I dont expect modern physics but interesting to know the limits for use in map making :)
Another thing, maybe Im stupid But that train controls, if you start driving away, will not that stay where it started? So if I jump out after driving a bit will you not be able to control it again unlessits like in the same spot as the train controls? Im just assuming that will stay where it begins and not follow the func_vehicle...
it follows the func_vehicle! im not sure what's happening behind the scenes, but you can drive the vehicle around and use it no matter where you drive it to.

I noticed yours too, that's crazy. And I followed the 303 tutorial, so the fact that you dont even need path tracks is even better.
OK now I understand that the path_tracks are mostly helpful with the orientation of the vehicle.@@vhetutor
func_vehicle is a right, not a privilege.
awesome to see JACK hammer tutorials stil being released! :D

man the fact that you uploaded this is so cool, i used your old tutorials recently to learn how to use hammer, great video!!
This can lead to some really cool driving levels, excited to see how modders use this.
FUNC_VEHICLE IS REAL!
very cool bro. thanks for the upload
I actually switched to modding in half life 2 because I wanted the vehicles so this is great
Hello, can you please teach how to make trigger_hurt in valve hammer editor?
Can these start "off"?
So that you might have to find a "gas can" or something to "fuel it" in the same way you can set up
a keycard to unlock a door etc.
the func_vehicle doesn't have a master, so not officially, but you might be able to utilize a trigger_changetarget onto the func_vehiclecontrols
thank you!
How do you enable the grid displaying the length/ width of selected object on its side?
My J.A.C.K. editor is just freezing when I try to boot it up, it became an issue after THE Half-Life update. Am I alone in this?
Hi, are there any tutorials for cutscenes? Thanks
Working my way through Black Mesa now, great version of HL.

you can take them off ramps I believe. there were a bunch of CS 1.6 maps that utilized these a bunch. search up some cs 1.6 videos about it maybe
Is it possible to add it straight into the dll
is there a way to make a invisible wall only for func_veichle to bounce off of?
null texture with func_detail and passable on
Does it transition when changing the map?
Time for me to work on something in Hammer I suppose...
you rock
Has physics gotten better? In CS func_vehicle was glitchy
I think that was because it was on a server. It should work very well in singleplayer.
this may sound dumb but how to i turn on the measurements
Im pretty sure it's a setting in JACK
hey can you make an elevator tutorial in j.a.c.k hammer editor
ive made an elevator tutorial before! it's in valve hammer editor but it all still applies
Another thing, maybe Im stupid

Did they improve the Func vehicle? Like does it sometimes still go through geometry or its now fully solid
it's probably still a little buggy, but as long as you set your dimensions properly, you'll be in the best shape you can be
half life kart? half kart? kart life?
rejoice!
