Been playing since launch and it’s been ROUGH to say the least, but the progress they’ve made have put it in a pretty good spot and I’d rather have a decent halo experience atm then just not play at all or boycott the game. I get why people don’t wanna come back but I would hope some people checkout the progress that has been made and give it another chance. It’s a free game so what’s to lose?

I think Season 5 is doing well right now. As long as they fix that network and expand on sandbox/game modes more people come back. Obviously 343 missed the golden opportunity. Mountain Dew promo will bring back H3 kids for sure.

It's honestly my favorite game right now. Halo has always been my favorite PvP and this one has some of my favorite gameplay. As far as content, a game with around 15 game modes, a map builder, and custom games is pretty damn sold for a free to play game.
There needs to be a post/pre game lobby in matchmaking, like there is in the custom game browser. Because sometimes I do want to play a casual grounded vanilla match.

It has been feeling better to play as things have gotten "better". Really enjoy Squad Battle's classic BTB.
Stillll holding out that coating colors become customizable, I just can't use Mk.V [B] until I can have my colors again.

I've jumped back into the game and absolutely love it. Big fan of the progress that's been made.
I think you hit the nail on the head with this one. I wouldn't say Halo is back to it's former glory, but I would say that it's going back in the right direction for the first time in what feels like forever. I hope some of those bigger names like Critical and Mutahar take another look at the game and see how much it's improved. Having the game get hated on by so many influential people really hurt it in the gaming social landscape.

Haven’t played halo since reach and I decided to hop on infinite with my coworkers and I love it. It’s fun.
Im perfectly fine with no btb map for the season since we just got the GOATED playlist that squad battles. Esp since were more then likely getting more maps added eventually, esp with that forge remake of (I think) headlong they showed off at the world championship

I agree Halo was missing content when it came out, but the over looked fact was its a great game with great graphics - my only issue with the game was I was not getting anywhere with the battle pass I had purchased they have fixed the XP now and I played all weekend getting some great mods for my armor and having fun.
Let hope they keep the content coming.
Its amazing what 343i has achieved after the shakeup to their leadership. Its damn true that bad leadership can cause a lot of damage to a brand.
I think I hate this "thing I hate is good now but I will still act like I dislike it" type of video format even more than the traditional "thing I hate is bad". Just comes off as pretentious.
I actually never played extraction back in H4, played 4 the least actually. But I do think the differences in Extraction compared to King of the Hill are huge, it makes the match into a more asymmetrical game mode. It's almost like one flag, but the point is harder to capture, you don't have to bring it home, and you switch to defense immediately. Almost a combo of KotH, Oddball, and One Flag. Plus you can choose where the extractor is set, minor but cool.

I don't think Halo is "back" but this season shows it still has longterm potential.
Won't ever reach to the popularity it should have gotten, but I'm sure it'll have a slowly growing consistent longterm playerbase

Aside from continued support for cross-core, I'd really like to see them focus on the net code. Desync can get baaaad.

I've had loads of fun lately with the custom games but the one thing that is annoying are the servers and menus not working correctly
I would get the Mark V set if it wasn't a kit, I want to actually be able to swap out the helmets, etc. Not paying overpriced cash shop rates for a core that can only take coatings and visors.

This season convinced me and like 20 of my friends to come back or try it out for the first time. Even made a little clan and everything lmao
New maps, firefight, and flood drip? First time I’ve played since season one. Having a blast 💥
It's definitely back man, ever since the new management at 343 it's pretty much been nothing but W's for both Infinite and Mcc, they're a lot more open and honest to change even to shit they took a hard ground stance on like red reticle on PC which was one of the first changes made with new management. Forge AI and Firefight is MASSIVE, future is extremely bright.

I’m glad that the game is getting better. It shows how well the new team has been listening to the feedback of the community. However I still have some issues. For one they need to fix the SBMM for the non ranked modes I shouldn’t have to try every game to have fun. The other issue is the store prices nobody should pay $20 for old cosmetics other than that the game feels great and I’m looking forward for the mid season update and what they do next.
for a week or 2 during a new season they boost the prices of store items and how much it costs to get credits. best thing to do is wait till its out of the shop. and buy the cheaper versions of the bundles in the customization menu. also ive played so much custom games and got zero damn XP lmao. cuz most customs arnt made to end they are infinite and matches have to end to get XP

Two of the friends I play with on COD Warzone/DMZ for fun won't come back to Halo because "The weapons feel all the same were COD has different weapons that feel different from another one". Although somewhat true I don't think that's a reason not to comeback and another reason was "I don't like playing custom games even if it's firefight". What kind of argument is that? That's Halos core identity if removed it would kill Halo outright. Customs has been there from the beginning. From what I gathered they just want Halos identity to disappear. One even enjoyed Halo Reach better, fair argument, but they want the load outs back which is a COD thing not a Halo thing. At this point I believe they just want to just play COD 😂 I just want Halo to be Halo and people not play because of the past mistakes. We can dwell on mistakes too much, being negative and not giving credit were credit should be given. I think this is a drop in the bucket of what will be coming to HI. Just give them critical feedback and push for more cross core, more forge objects(Covenant, Flood etc.), more game modes and fixing desync for the love of everything that is good! Rant over and give me some feedback on my friends if they have a critical and righteous feedback or is it just downright silly.
I have a lot of fun playing this game. That makes up a lot for many of the issues (but please I want campaign DLC)
I like the irony of the title being Halo is healing, while the thumbnail is a horrific flood infected Spartan 😂
Features and fixes needed for me to finally say the game is finished:
- Netcode, Customs, and Theater Fixed
- The full implementation of Firefight and various modes (that’s coming soon so good)
- Full cross core or at the very least cross core coatings. Helmets and Coatings are the absolute MUSTS. Everything else imo is absolutely welcomed and would love to see but coatings NEED to happen to make customization feel worthwhile
- Modes like Grifball and Ricochet make their return
- A match composer should be implemented now that we’ve reached a point where there are several playlist and mode options
- Pre-game lobbies (this is a pipedream but I’d love to see it happen)
- A fully functional combat record so you can brag about your K/D and stats overall to everyone
- Being able to purchase individual items and not just bundles (FAIRLY PRICED)
For the most part, that is the last of the main things I’d like and/or need to see before I personally classify this game as “Finished” or “How it should’ve been at launch”. Rn it’s good. But not there yet. I’d say we’re about 65-70% there.
Well they should make the bandit evo a starting weapon for btb. Just like reach dmr btb.

I remember Halo Reach had all of the content ready to go for the price of a full game. It was really cool even though it wasn't perfect. Shame modern multiplayer games don't do that anymore. I'll probably stay out of the market until then.
They still need to fix Aim Assist and remove mnk AA, and bullet magnetism on both input
I genuinely was bummed out that they took out take downs I always use to just spend money on halo 5 packs to get cool assanations
its not 343, its microsoft. no one looks at what was happening during the 6 years of development. budget slashes, 343 having to lay employees off, which forced them to hire contractors, but people would rather blame 343 for purposely killing halo... which makes no sense cuz halo doing good or bad dictates their pay checks and lives

I’m enjoying the new season. Netcode is still kind of wonky, and I’d prefer a new BTB map, but I’m enjoying the game the most I have since launch.

Halo Infinite does feel like it’s healing, and we are only 2 weeks into the season. With all the content being rolled out for this season, makes me look forward to the next season.
*should’ve been there at launch*….fun fact, halo infinite at launch had just as much content as halo 2 and 3 did at launch in terms of maps, weapons, vehicles, customization, and campaign. And halo infinite currently has over 3 times the content of ANY previous Halo. But that doesn’t fit the “New Halo Bad” narrative so nobody wants to talk about if
True that. People keep omitting what the game actually offers for what other thing they wanted specifically. The game has already past the ""complete"" part. It's just getting even better with updates, be it legacy stuff or completely new things.
For me the Evo is what the bandit should have been when it was added to the game, also I never got why they didn’t just call it a DMR it seems a bit strange to me, like you wouldn’t rename the battle rifle to the mercenary or something so why change the name of the DMR?, I gotta say though so I’ve been super negative on this game for awhile and this season has got me to reinstall and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by it so far.
I think seasons going forward are gonna be all about adding content that should’ve been there at launch & fixing core issues with the game.
With that model and the way they’re handling it I think they’ll always have a consistent player base now. Infinite is in a good spot rn. NOT THE BEST EVER. Netcode and customs still are trash and a lotta features are still not present like a fully functional combat record. But we’re finally in what I’d call a “good spot”.
However if Halo Infinite ever wants to pull players back in mass, they need to do a relaunch of the game. With a big mode they can advertise to the general public as the centerpiece and then they can also advertise all the features the game at that point in time now has. It would take a large scale mode like a BR or a Battlefield level mode that is worth 4-6 months of advertising and trying to convince the public to comeback and try the game again.
Either a large scale mode or a campaign DLC. And the large scale mode is pretty much 100% gonna happen.

I joined a customs Refugee map ir whatever rhe new community map is and it just never ended and was a huge waste of time. I play ranked. Desync is at it worst. Like idk man. Nothing is really keeping me wanting to play tbh. Nostalgia is cool but MCC is where all that is. 😅

Most of the coatings you get in previous seasons are Not cross core. I'd really like all Coatings you got in previous seasons Or ones you unlocked in the campaign to be fully cross core.

@@Arrrash They are going through all the old ones and doing them slowly. I had like 15 coatings that used to be single core that got converted to multi core when S5 dropped.
@@Arrrashno, some old coatings already are crosscore, but most of them are not, I think they are going to be adding more old stuff in the crosscore category every season
Need more solid colors for coatings or just scrap that shit format already and let us customize our colors

Halo Infinite from the start felt like 343 was heading in the right direction. Art direction, music, gameplay, characters - they got it all right from the get go.
Now it sucks that a lot of content was missing, but it can be added later, but you can't add later the fundamentals.
I was always having fun with Infinite and all the negativity I think (well, I *know)* is only contributing to Halo dying, which I was under the impression that people don't want that.
But then again gamers love to complain
Almost all of 343 is made up of new employees now which I’m sure helped… it shows how much having people who obviously care about the game make it rather then the people who hate halo that they purposely hired (yes I’m serious look it up)

343 is making great strides in a race that's already over. A race? With their own launch date. Put it this way:
Not since the pre-343 era (because Ensemble is nothing to scoff at) have we had a game that LAUNCHED with ALL these working on or near release:
File Share, Forge, Theater, Customs, Infection, biome diversity.
TEN YEARS without a proper launch. And I didn't even throw Invasion and Firefight in there even though they really are on the list, along with other expected pre-343 aspects. Why is this? 343's not simply launching without proven and tested elements, but keeps prioritizing new, experimental stuff. This "our 'halo'" mentality.
Simply launch with what's tried and true and THEN add your untested stuff and even proven 343-era goodness. They always plan to have updates after launch but don't place importance on the right things.
A proper launch will be an immense step in the right direction to rebuilding Halo's reputation as Halo. Not the amalgamation of Halo and trend-chasing we've seen repeatedly, be it mobility memes or greed for microtransaction/F2P money.
They should let Halo be Halo and even then you can keep stuff that shouldn't be part of the core gameplay by putting them in select playlists and customs (from abilities to equipment with too many charges) just the same as we have Infection and SWAT without making core gameplay shieldless and radarless, or Firefight without making core gameplay have PvE, or Invasion without making core gameplay Spartans vs. Elites with such different stats and loadouts.
343 can do it right they just have to do it already.
As someone who has always closely follows *all* gaming news, always been a Sony pony, and never owned a Halo game, hearing how well 343 is doing with season 5 convinced me to download Infinite, and honestly I'm loving it. It's not perfect, SBMM always fucking sucks and I wish devs would only use it for certain game modes, but it's been a blast. Accidentally road killed a teammate last night, absolutely obliterated him, didn't know I could do that and got a great laugh out of seeing my unsuspecting buddy go flying on impact. Let's see how long it lasts. I expect it to continue to improve with this alleged new team working on it at 343.
Arrrash. Have you ever noticed that the cosmetics in the customisation menu look great but look flat and have bad textures in-game? Also when I'm in a match, i can only see outlines. Outlines obscure the cosmetics that people pay for. Look into it man.
Yes the game is getting to the state it should have been in november 15 2021. Now it's October 24 2023. If a company is working on a game like Halo their rights to make mistake are revoked. You cannot make a mistake while making a Halo game. They did #Fire343

I have 75,000+ matches growing up. Infinite is the first Halo i regressed and completely stopped playing.
Every time I watch this game I’m like yeah looks great, lets hop on and play again. I’ll keep it a buck, I think the gameplay is just a swing and a miss for halo. Weapons and aiming don’t feel right. I just genuinely don’t have fun on this game, no matter how much shit they will try and throw at it. I know a handful of people will defend it, but for me the gameplay is a sweaty chore.
I found on this new update the graphics don’t render fully and I lag like crazy on the forge maps.

I've also played every Halo, and let me tell you: Infinite has the most balanced and logical gameplay out of them all with how it approaches the weapon inventory, equipment system, movement versatility, etc. Previous Halo games have always either been too sluggish or too fast paced.

@@RuSsHeR1 Well to be fair there is a lot I could elaborate on, instead I didnt go there. We could have a coffee and chat about the pro’s and cons on this game, and i’m sure you and I would agree on many things.
However. In my opinion, this entire game as a whole is not peak halo, nor will it ever get to it. I believe its because of its core structure, that miss its mark for me. I never said the game was bad, but it’s missing a lot of key components that have the halo make up. Ranked and social hardly feel any different from one another. The game feels like its forcing you to play sweaty. It’s missing moments of being “slow and sluggish” if you ask me. And I typically lean towards competitive over casual, so that should say something.
Simply put I don’t feel like i’m playing Halo. Feels like i’m playing a apex or titanfall hybrid lol.

I play red dead redemption 2 mp because you get rewarded every time you level up in the progression system. Addicting. Halo infinite isn't.
Just move on, it's not like you'd come back even if they added everything you want to the game (not like that would even happen anyway, considering the sheer absurdity of some people's requests for Halo).

I was really hoping Halo would be great again... But the second they said "free to play", that is when Halo died to me
Nothing is pay 2 win in Halo Infinite's F2P multiplayer, though. A lot of the paid cosmetics are very silly looking anyway. The free cosmetics you earn via gameplay weekly challenges are pretty decent enough.
It's not like CoD games where there are P2W weapon blueprints. In MW2, they literally lock weapons behind a limited time battle pass.

I want Halo to be back. But it isn't. The fundamental game is just broken. It doesn't feel good to play when it's constantly having issues. There is no escaping it.
Content is good but it's still a shitshow in terms of gameplay. Desync is worse than ever, random dudes doing exterminations in Husky Raid because of some imaginary infinite health when they have a sword or a hammer, servers are terrible and the occasional cheaters are the cherry on the top.

In some regards yes, this is the bare minimum, but adding AI into forge is not the bare minimum. That’s above and beyond and is something completely new to Halo.
Facts!! AI to Forge is something that actually separates Infinite.
Forge ai isn’t the bare minimum, and neither is the extremely complex forge we have in infinite.
