I think an animation of this would perfectly illustrate how much things changed by the fact Juno missed. Like after the initial "Juno was mad" part, it cuts off, you hear a gunshot, and then the laugh comes in, and it cuts back in, there's a bullet hole on the floor, with Juno and his friend staring at each other. (Maybe that bullet was the last in the chamber)

I imagine his friend finds evidence of his murders, and he takes a shot with a silenced pistol, but he misses and his friend takes the gun and calls the police, and then the souls are taunting him while he's waiting for death row.

I cant stop looping The only thing I would have added is the two voices at the "do you like how my face part-" one sings disintegrates into chalk and the other sings has learned to tick like a clock- And maybe also the extra verse from the demo- "Organism assembly line, everything's gonna be fine, play pretend" would have been so perfect for your style...!! i found out about this song once i heard your songs were on spotify (i already knew about your mind electric cover, found out about the 2 others there too). "ruler of everything" was already my favorite tally hall song, so when i saw this on your album i immediately listened to it. and OH BOY, it was an experience. i didn't really like how it started, but once i heard the ticking i was sold. i LOVE the way the song slows down and then you start singing like you were doing a lullaby, and then break into laughter like a villain, THEN actually sing like one (time's voice is awesome!). i adore 3:40, when you return back to the unhinged beginning for the chorus, you changed the lyrics to be a little more in tune with the meaning of "ruler of everything". and finally, at the end, the song is calm and soft again (WHICH I LOVE). basically, yes, this song IS a ride. but it's one of my favorite songs because of it. thank you for covering ruler of everything.

I think this is legit better than the Original, It doesnt change a whole lot other than ad one extra Stanza and that Stanza was HARD! and it gives perspective of both Juno and so called "time"
You know, I don't know if I'm right or not, but I definitely feel like this project can't possibly have the same track order as the original Marvin's. This song in particular really feels like it has to be early on-it kind of feels like the opposite to Be Born to me. Be Born is where the dark side is pretty much at full power, while this one feels more like it's the light side in control and introducing the dark side on its own terms-treating it like a villain that tried to attack the "sun" and ended up imprisoned. Especially with how Ruler of Everything feels like it crops up a lot in other songs (Be Born calling back to the idea of the clock being endless, obviously Variations on a cloud and by extension the new ending to Special, and maybe even the fact that Hidden In The Sand mentions the same idea of 'Took [a] shot and [...] missed'?)

The original song talks about Juno as a representation of humanity encountering the very concept of time taking shape before him, being that the first thing he does is try to seek his approval of the shalow life he lives, after talking a bit with this physical representation of time, he realizes that he is insignificant and that his life is empty, the fast part of the song is time getting angry at him for thinking he understands that he doesn't understand anything, when that is giving himself too much credit by implying that he gets an idea of the smallest fraction of what he doesn't understand, telling him ''comprehend if you can'' as a challenge, as a ''comprehend this, motherfucker'', Juno realizes at this moment the reality, humanity has lived deceived, we are not the center of the universe and everything we take for granted is a lie, in this way the first verse of the song becomes the last part chronologically speaking: ''Juno was mad, he knew he'd been had, so he shot the sun with a gun'', the sun being his ''wiley one only friend'' as it is for mankind, the sun is basically what keeps us alive, in several cultures the sun has been put as the most important god, from this perspective we could say that Juno shot someone VERY important, maybe God or something similar.
Now, this version makes all this much darker by just adding a second verse ''He shot and missed'', making it now the first chronological part of the song, we can suppose that what Juno did had consequences, Time taught him a lesson and having no one to take it out on he fell into madness, finding peace in death. If we understand Juno as the representation of humanity itself all of this becomes absolutely terrifying

i found out about this song once i heard your songs were on spotify (i already knew about your mind electric cover, found out about the 2 others there too). "ruler of everything" was already my favorite tally hall song, so when i saw this on your album i immediately listened to it. and OH BOY, it was an experience.
i didn't really like how it started, but once i heard the ticking i was sold. i LOVE the way the song slows down and then you start singing like you were doing a lullaby, and then break into laughter like a villain, THEN actually sing like one (time's voice is awesome!).
i adore 3:40, when you return back to the unhinged beginning for the chorus, you changed the lyrics to be a little more in tune with the meaning of "ruler of everything". and finally, at the end, the song is calm and soft again (WHICH I LOVE).
basically, yes, this song IS a ride. but it's one of my favorite songs because of it. thank you for covering ruler of everything.

You know, I don't know if I'm right or not, but I definitely feel like this project can't possibly have the same track order as the original Marvin's. This song in particular really feels like it has to be early on-it kind of feels like the opposite to Be Born to me. Be Born is where the dark side is pretty much at full power, while this one feels more like it's the light side in control and introducing the dark side on its own terms-treating it like a villain that tried to attack the "sun" and ended up imprisoned. Especially with how Ruler of Everything feels like it crops up a lot in other songs (Be Born calling back to the idea of the clock being endless, obviously Variations on a cloud and by extension the new ending to Special, and maybe even the fact that Hidden In The Sand mentions the same idea of 'Took [a] shot and [...] missed'?)
