A day in the woods thats wut it is all about thanks for the vids
Thanks for stopping in Cody!
Watching you and Jennifer is therapeutic for an old duffer like me. Thanks.
Our pleasure! It’s therapeutic for me to do it, lol
Excellent work as usual
Thanks!
Looking great in the Great Smoky Mountains folks. Great job with all the help you had around there Richard, Jennifer and her family always are a big help and she is becoming quite an apprentice. The new sawmill shed is coming right along and being underroof helps. Keep up the great videos and the fun you all have around there. Fred.
Thank you, my friend and it’s always a treat to hear from you. We are certainly glad to get that metal on there after such a long time, lol. Hope you guys are having some great weather out there to get anything done that you need and we hope you have a great week.
Wow, it's almost done
Still a lot to do but it will be under roof.
I LOVED the shot at about 730 where you are driving up the road with the log and it cuts to you backing out of the sawmill with the grapple full of boards! Excellent!
lol, the mill makes short work of those logs
Nice progress today, Thank you all. Great job.
Thank you and have a good week
Loving the progress Richard! Really looking good. You and Jennifer make my day! Have a great week!
Thanks, friend! We appreciate you! -Jennifer
It was good to see your family helping.
IHR SEIT EINFACH EIN SUPER TEAM MACHT SUPER ARBEIT PASST AUF EUCH AUF 👏🏻👋🙂🙋♂️🇩🇪🤗😊😅😁
Thank you, my friend. We know that you’re always there watching as we work.
Fabulous! You have to wake up every morning, so proud of all you accomplished! Your house, outdoor kitchen, chicken coop, communication tower, carport, sawmill shed #1, workshop, sawmill shed #2, privy, smoke house. Did I forget anything? I hope you live to 100 to continue to enjoy the fruits of your labor.
lol, I think you did a pretty good job on the list. Wow, that many when you name them off.
You and Jennifer Are Doing A Wonderful Job on The Buildings! Keep Up The Great Work 👍
Thank you! Will do!
@@SmokyMountainOutpost Your Very Welcome ❗
Looking REAL good. What's for lunch? You worked right through lunch.
Lunch was off camera, lol
You both make me nervous on that roof😮😮
I guess after spending 30 years hanging on a pole with the telephone company has something to do with it. That kind of heights doesn’t really bother me.
good video and job. both you take care, be safe and well.
Thanks and you do the same
As always you and your daughter are doing a great job, love the build.
Thank you and we’re glad that you enjoy videos
A really good job, this building is rock solid.
Yes, it is and we’re excited that it’s coming to a close
You have a wonderful daughter in Jennifer! She sure is a great help for you! Are you widowed, separated or divorced? You have such a fine disposition and a man with great humor! Keep healthy! Deo Gratias!
I've wandered the same. You never hear any talk of a Mrs. Do You .?😊
Thanks for the wonderful daughter comment. She is a great help and wooden trader for nothing. Single and loving it.
If you’re going to build it, do it right! Safety first! I love watching you and Jennifer work together, great team 😊
We try to be safe as we work. Some things I have just done my whole life and don’t even think twice about it. I think. Like getting up on the roof doesn’t bother me at all walking around up there working but it does other folks. Anyway, thanks for the comment. Hope you have a great weekend.
Ya fun time they sher do love the water
Don’t say, though. That’s the highlight of their day.
I use wood temporarily for lining up the bottom edge of the metal roofing ❤
It helps
That is so satisfying working with lumber. Nice job Richard and crew. Almost like you've done it before. LOL. Be safe.
You got that right! Lol
Richard if you have enough hickory in your area, I would cut hickory planking for the floor in the shop.
One of my Great uncles in his shop had thick hickory hickory flooring that was very solid and was hard as concrete at 75 years old.
He even used Hickory on the floor of his smokehouse where he cured out and smoke many Tennessee salt cured Country hams that people came for miles around to buy, and yes I know how he did them, and you don't need refrigeration to store them, just a dark room.
Those hams made some of the best Red Eye Gravy and when served with biscuits, eggs and Ham, it was to die for.
Uncle Freddy and Uncle Georgie both cured the best hams.
I have some but they are high on the mountain. Maybe I can find alternative
Hello Jennifer Richard & Patrick 👋😁
Richard i was in Awe 😲 when i saw that Receiver Hitch Piece made for hauling Canoe 🛶!!!!!!! Because a friend of mine just built me one almost identical to haul my 14 foot canoe 🛶 . What's funny 😂 is I've went and bought the same DOT reflective Tape stickers to put on the 3 visible sides of mine. I bought the stickers in the automotive section of Walmart. So since im a ex trucker 🚛 so i know the same DOT stickers go on Trailers on Tractor Trailers 😁.
I'm installing 2 big eye bolts 🔩 on mine for s ratchet strap to ratchet my canoe 🛶 down go to the ride bar canoe will be sitting on. Pretty cool to see that you have got just about the same reese hitch hauling bar for yours.
👍😁👍
It works out really well for hauling different types of material as well.
Hey Richard and Jennifer - its been a while. Busy as a one armed paper hanger!! Michele had a great time in the smokey mountains. She laughed about the hillbillies cruse night in Pigeon Forge. Talk about tail gate parties!!! I chased her around the house after she got back and blew out my knee. Ah but it was worth it!! Ha ha ha ! Love to see Smokey and Dolly heading to the creek! What a blast!! Great job on the building!
Yes, the Forge is a crazy place, about 25min from here. Glad she had a good time. Why don’t you try roller skates, lol
Hey brother, have ya thought about turning your old sawmill building into a wood stove heated drying kiln? Just use some old roof tin sheets and line the inside, strengthen the double doors, pick up an old used pressure vessel and now you have a wood fired heater...
Thought about it. Going to build one later. That old sawmill building needs to come down because I think it’s an eyesore. And I’ll be able to sit on the front porch and look out over the new workshop. We’re going to build a small gazebo with a nice fire pit right there in front of the cabin and try to keep all the larger buildings out and away from it. But you have a really good idea.
Checking in with SM outpost don't be Dumb hit the Thumb for them to support there journey.
Amen to that Sergio!!
👍👍👍💙💛❤O munca draconica.Felicitari ! 💙💛❤👍👍👍
Richard with that view out that end wall, it is a shame you are not putting in a window for natural light and to view the spectacular view over the holler.
Yes but it is a storage shed for lumber. It would probably get broken
👍🏴
Waoo de lujo Dios bendiga amen 🙏🏻🙏🏻❤❤
Thank you. Have a good week
Your dryer in hooray great work that building isn't going anywhere
That’s right. Hope it stays where it’s at, lol
Do you have an estimate when you will move in this beautiful worship? Love it😅
Yes I do! When it’s done, lol. It will be a while. The upper and lower floors will have to be framed and also sheathing put on them siding completed all the way around doors put on. We still have a ways to go.
Can't you unbolt the bunks and put them on the back so the stops are on the back instead on the front. I enjoy your videos .Giles Co. Virginia.
Everything works as set up. I want sawdust going outside the stall. The log lays like it is because of direction of mill. I would have to turn mill around to work properly
👌👌👋👋🤝👏
What kind of carpenters pencil are you using - thanks!
Pica Pencil from Amazon
Cool, a solar system. I remember doing one in middle school with all the planets orbiting the sun. Huh, what? Oh, Solar panels. Never mind.😁
That’s cool, we can aim the panels toward all the planets and let them soak up the energy, lol
🇳🇴👍👍
What is spelled with 4 letters, sometimes with 9 letters. Never with 5 letters.
lol, just like you said, ha ha
What's the answer ? I'm guessing the answer is Cusswords. 😊

Sawdust! Dustcrete. There is a youtuber who uses sawdust to make a sort of aircrete type building material. Very interesting.
Interesting!
