My auto tow service said it was the alternator. A.. Simple fix. I decided to tow it to the service shop near me. They ran diagnostics, said the alternator was good, the starter was bad. $830. After the repair, wow! That starter cranked, I could feel , after about 40 starts, one day at a store, turned the ignition, it made a buzzing sound. Tried again, it started. Did some research about relays. Came across your RUclips site. Replaced the relay. Did that solve the problem? To soon to tell, will update after about 80 starts, that should be enough. Hey thanks for the video, im still trying to figure out my issue with code P0141 Bank 1 Sensor 2 Circuit Heater Malfunction, I replaced the O2 Sensor but I still have the code popping up even after erasing it and driving it for a week... I thought it was a relay issue but I can't figure out whats wrong
Do you have a video showing how to make changing the air filter easier on this sort of vehicle? It is a pain in the arse to do on a 2004 Honda Accord EX. Thanks!
A P0141 means the engine computer is seeing an issue with the heater circuit on the downstream Oxygen Sensor on Bank 1. The heater inside the sensor helps it warm up faster so it can start working faster. There is an upstream Air/Fuel Ratio (AFR) sensor and a downstream Oxygen (O2) sensor for each bank on these model Accords. A four cylinder Accord only has one bank, Bank 1. A six cylinder Accord has two banks (Bank 1 and Bank 2). Bank 1 would be the 3 cylinders in the REAR of the engine compartment and Bank 2 would be the 3 cylinders in the FRONT of the engine compartment. A problem with power/ground, the wiring, the sensor or the engine computer could all cause the trouble code. On a 4 cylinder engine, I would make sure the #18 fuse in the under DASH fuse box is good. On a 6 cylinder engine, I would make sure fuses #4 and #23 are good in the under DASH fuse box. The most common issue causing these codes is a bad downstream O2 sensor (which can also blow the fuses). Unfortunately sometimes it can be difficult to figure out which sensor is the AFR and which is the O2 sensor, especially on six cylinder models.

Hey Dave thanks for sharing as it has been quite helpful, although I have a question as I believe it’s a relay or fuse on my 2005 Honda Accord. It sat for a good few months and the battery died (it always has had a small battery draw) so I hooked my shop booster onto it for a while and let it charge back up for a while , tried to crank and turned over slowly for a while, then cut out and now the starter just clicks. I would suspect a starter but the thing is, the car won’t come out of park even with the key on and brake pressed, doors will not lock as well… but I also noticed that it has an aftermarket security system and it doesn’t respond to the key fob now, fuses are good under dash and under hood. Kind of at a loss. Especially when it clicks but doesn’t even try to start. As I don’t want to throw parts at it if it’s some silly relay or fuse that went that I can’t see or don’t know
There is a good chance there may be an issue with the aftermarket alarm causing issues. I would probably double check all connections at battery to make sure they are clean and tight and would verify battery is good and fully charged (bad/low batteries can cause electrical problems like you describe). I would also make sure the brake lights come on when you press the brake pedal just in case there is an issue with the brake pedal switch.
@@BigDog50001 yeah I found out the starter is on its last legs and had a dead spot on it now that just makes it click sometimes. I got it to work again and start but I also found out from the car sitting dead I believe the aftermarket security system is dead. I don’t care as I can lock and unlock the doors with the key but yeah that was the conclusion

Hi Dave I have problem with check engine light off when first start, and I cannot scan the ECU, ECU tested on another accord and it works, which relay connect to ECU? Thanks.
Hey Big Dog, i had a quick question for you about my car. I have a 2005 honda accord ex coupe v6 6 speed manual with 126 k miles. The issue I am having is that i sometimes have a crank no start problem sometimes when the car is warm. I dont hear the fuel pump prime when that happens. The second i shut the key off and try to start it the car fires up no problem. Ive done some diag and replaced all the under dash relays but same issue occurs. I also tried jumping the fuel pump relay when I had that issue and tried starting the car and it still wouldnt start. My assumption is that the ecm is intermittently not grounding the main relay providing power to ignition coils and fuel pump. Any ideas on what might be the issue im having? I did have the ignition switch replaced with an oem honda part due to it buzzing when starting it in the morning.
Don't forget to check the ECT1 temp on a scan tool/code reader and also scan for any trouble codes. Remember, PGM-FI 1 Relay is for the injectors and PGM-FI 2 is for the fuel pump and they are controlled by engine computer. I would try to narrow it down and see If I was losing only 1 thing (like fuel pump) or multiple things (fuel injectors, fuel pump, spark etc). Intermittent problems like that can be tough and it could be numerous things. If I am only missing one thing then I would tend look at that circuit, if I am missing multiple things then I would probably look towards input signals to ECM (ECT sensor, Immobilizer, cam and crank sensors etc) or for something they all have in common (like sharing a power or ground). Thanks for the comment!
@@BigDog50001 Hey Big Dog, so ive finally narrowed down the problem to the ignition immobiilizer that reads the key. The green key light would flash while i was driving sometimes and cause an intermittent crank no start.

There are a lot of things that can cause this (relays/air leaks/dirty throttle body/fuel delivery/bad sensors etc). I would start by making sure both Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensors are working properly throughout the entire range without any dropouts or hiccups (cold engine all the way to fully warmed up), especially ECT1. I usually do this check with a scan tool and double check with infrared temp gun. In addition to the ECTs, I will also make sure the intake air temp sensor is working properly too. The engine computer uses ECT1 to help determine air and fuel ratio on start up (and to some degree the intake air temp). One (or both) of the PGM-FI main relays going bad is also a common cause of a crank no start on a Honda (they control fuel delivery as well as some other sensors).
Hi I have a 05 accord coupe. I think all the relays are the same as this. Anyway I have an issue of when I shut off the car, they AC fan keeps running and the light stays on. It kills the battery if i forget to turn the fan off when i exit the car, Any ideas of what may cause that?
One more issue I have with the 05 is that I'm getting water inside when it rains. coming in the firewall area somewhere? Usually on the right side, but it was parked leaning to the drivers side, and the water went on the drivers floor board. not sure where its getting in, but thinking air intake (ac / vent /cabin air)? driving me nuts trying to figure out where the waters coming from. I removed the moulding along the windshield and resealed it but thats not it. no sunroof. car has just been sitting, with no ac running. only happens when it rains out. I cleaned everything i could see out of the vents by the windshield / hood (leaves ect). maybe some drain is blocked though (windshield drain)?
Depends on what is staying on (hard to tell from the comment which component stays on). That being said, bad control modules or stuck relays are common causes of this.
Thank you for the video. Question I gave a 2004 Element with a air horn. The horn now only works intermittently. I had taken it to the audio shop where it was installed and they said it was the clock spring. As luck would have it, the horn worked when I got there. I read somewhere online that sometimes the horn gets dirty and you need to spray with WD40. I did and it worked for a while. Now it has stopped working again. Do you think it’s the clock spring? Obviously I haven’t had a chance to check the usual things. Thanks I enjoy all your videos.
The air horn is probably failing, nothing to do with the clock spring. Usually the steering wheel controls would also not work if the clockspring was bad
@@enginehead9966 thanks that was my thought cause the last time I removed it and sprayed it with WD40 it has worked for months till now. It’s been around 5 years since the install
3:40 of the video is the A/F (Air/Fuel Ratio) sensor relay for this vehicle (a 2.4L four cylinder model), it is for the upstream sensor which is a *wideband* Oxygen Sensor on these vehicles. The downstream Oxygen Sensor is a standard *narrow* band sensor and does not have a relay as part of the circuit on this model. V6 models typically have two upstream A/F Sensors (front and rear A/F sensors) and two narrow band downstream sensors (front and rear secondary sensors). The A/F relay controls all sensors on those V6s. Thanks for the comment!

Well I have a code p0141 it says it could be o2 sensor heater malfunction bank 1 sensor 2 it says check fuse and seek professional help

Which one is the wiper motor relay? I can’t seem to find mine. I’ve replaced the motor twice, the mount once, and I know it’s getting power.

Is there a horn relay? My fuse is good but my horn don't work just clicking sound under hood where the fuses are
is there a main relay on this vehicle or are the 3 pg relays collectively make the main relay?
Hello, my car is a 2007 CL7, but instead of the 7.5 amp mg clucht fuse, there is a 20 amp headlight washer fuse. Unfortunately, my air conditioner is not working...how will I find that fuse?7.5?
Nice video
Thanks 👍!
Hi Dog. I'm looking for the DBW RELAY, but I can't find it where You indicate
I took a picture to show him but here he does not allow me to upload it. Thank you Sr

Thank you for helping us out
hi! is the air fuel sensor relay..is it same as the oxygen sensor? thanks for your feedback...
What relay would have to go bad to cause the green key flashing light ?
Damn my shii been like this for a year Lmaoo I never knew it was a relay I was asking everywhere ! Did you find the answer?
I have a problem after trying to install a rear view camera. I have multiple systems that all went down. Speedometer, turn signals, ac (the fans still work), power windows, etc….. could be that second relay box in the engine bay?
excellent!
Thanks 👍!
My power mirrors stopped working at the same time. Fuses are good. Is it the switch?
Greetings my friend who specializes wake us up my car when caught in a heavy rain steering wheel resists and brakes too and detail the engine is still running but when you turn off the air conditioning the car starts working again it's a 2.0 2006 but it's still running could be the lambda probe of the discharge or the scanner will be able to locate this fault thanks
Would you happen to know if any of those relays Are for the o two sensor number two downstream heated
Hello! Thanks for the help! I have a problem with the starter relay and I couldn't find a solution on Polish websites. Could you give me the code or designation of the start cut relay so that I can buy it in my country?
Would this make your car turn over only
Nice
Hello, my car has this problem: the coolant gauge and fuel level no longer show and the fan does not turn on, and the fan only turns on when the air conditioner is turned on. Can you help somehow, maybe someone had such a problem. Thank you
Greetings the brake light fuse on the tailgate of the accord 2006 2.0 would you know its location as mine is not lighting up thanks

I am looking for the fog lamp relay any idea where is the location?
I am looking for a relay for the power seats. Where would that be located?
Thank you very much i have troubleshooting for ac compressor. Ac relay ground non supply.. maybe thats module relay or module problem.

Hi Dave I have problem with check engine light off when first start, and I cannot scan the ECU, ECU tested on another accord and it works, which relay connect to ECU? Thanks.
Do yo find it ,i have same exact problem????
@@hanisadiq7399 yes I did, one of grounding cable not connected
@@enginehead9966 did u get it fix ?
@@559F13Pupp3t yes i replaced the ignition immobilizer because the green key light would flash when i was driving. I had to reprogram the keys to the car after replacing it and everything works like new
@@enginehead9966 I’m having the same problem . Green key . First time it went away randomly. Second time light came back on and the battery died .. disconnected the battery and plug everything back on and started running again . Now green key light came back and nothing works to fix it . This is annoying
please help! i am having problem starting my 2008 honda accord 2.4l . i have to crank 3 or 4 times before it starts. Coils, plugs and fuel pump have all been replaced yet same problem. Hard starting, idles rough, hesitation and lack of power. I need your help
I would look towards a bad air horn first. Thanks for the comment!
@@BigDog50001 Thanks as always
Im looking for the headlight relay, if anyone can help me . Been searching for weeks.
Nice video. Which Relay controls the 02 Sensors
No fuel pump relay?
