Dark, speedy, weird ... unusual sequences ... and (but) sometimes surprisingly positive. It's so hard to express it with words. I am your big fan.
Oh my goodness. I think you've created a totally new subgenre of music... I'm really amazed on how you managed to realize the feelings of mystery, darkness and magic ect. in this soundtrack. Just incredible :D

@@boburrides Considering how bad it looks like Bloodlines 2 is gonna be, I wonder if being developed by Obisidian would've improved matters any or if it would've still been a massive clusterfuck lol.
@@boburrides Since I have no hope in the game being good, I've instead swung around into hoping that it's such a massive disaster that it's at least fun to watch. They handed the keys to sequel of one of the most respected RPGs ever made to a company that had *no* experience making anything other than competitive shooters. They allowed certain writers that never should've been there to begin with and therefore made concerns that the original game's edge would be lost to appeal to a more modern 'social justice' ideal all the more rampant - and it's a justifiable worry considering the depths to which the tabletop has fallen into it. They've kicked off the two people that EVERYONE'S hopes for the project fell onto, and their response to everything has just been so passive-aggressive and limp. And that's without even looking at the few gameplay demos they've shown, which make the combat look somehow more awful than the original's and the sound design from those demos is clearly beyond unfinished with virtually no ambience. Not enough people walked the streets, either, it all looked so empty, so barebones. And that's ultimately what we have to work with. Gameplay demos that look like shit and a company that's adding the wrong people and removing the right ones. I want this game to not just be bad - that'd be too light a punishment for Paradox. I want this game to swing as hard in the direction of Cyberpunk 2077-level shitshow as possible. Fuck Paradox.
48:00 - Where is this from? I know a song from Atoma (Bermuda Riviera) that has this same sounds. Is this Gareth's original work and they took it? Or the other way around? Or some samples from other places? That's interesting
It's live cello / electric. We recorded the cellist Tina Guo at Eastwest Studios (you can see a little segment in the Making Of here ruclips.net/video/N5dYvfGFjZA/видео.html ) The way the sound is created is by altering the position of the bow in realtime(closer to the bridge, closer to the neck). If you put reverb/delay on it and put it through an amplifier, it has this awesome cutting/searing effect, which with a good cello player (and Tina is one of the very best) can give your track real personality / attitude.
Probably never going to play the game. But have been listening to this soundtrack for a few days now and I really enjoy it! Great work Gareth!
