Now that I watched the episode I actually have a better understanding of what's going on the plaintiff made it very clear that he was on alcohol and Xanax two substances that will make you remember the least amount of things especially Xanax it will literally clear your brain from the day before you will not remember anything it'll come back to him after you put down drugs there's 12 to 18 months of post-acute withdrawal symptoms meaning the mental symptoms after that time he'll be much better if he stays sober

Why is she giving plaintiff such a hard time. He seems super credible and the other guy was zoomed out of his mind to even know what was going on. Grief is not an excuse to avoid accountability.
Because the burden is on the plaintiff to prove his claims. In civil court it's a preponderance of the evidence which is less strict than a criminal case. Also she can't award amounts without evidence to support that amount so she's probably frustrated because she believes him but has very little basis for amounts.

I could not do it in my town where I live, because evidently the incident did not take place in my town, it took place in his town.
Unbelievable how patient Judge Milian was with the defendant and rather harsh towards the plaintiff. She should've yelled at this punk!
Ahhhh.....the good old days! When tickets were affordable - even over here in Europe. I was shocked when I went online to check out a recent concert. Decided against it. I think the last concert I saw (and maybe I just don't remember and that followed...?) was when I was in the US in the mid-80's and saw The Who in Boston. If they didn't have jumbotrons set up, it coulda been just about anybody on stage jumping around --- I couldn't see them from up in the cheap seats.

I think both of them are good people. One fell hard but got some help, still not on top but getting there. The other wants what is owed but doing it very graciously!
I can empathize with the defendant losing his mother. However, he’s not taking any accountability for his behavior & he expects his landlord to bare his burdens. He appears to be possibly still using based on his responses & behavior
The loss of a parent will do that to you. Our parents had a chance to live without us but when you have to live without them…it’s devastating. I lost both of my parents in 14 months and I haven’t been the same since.
When my mom died unexpectedly, I was swallowed by grief a decade. Got on drugs (pills) to numb the pain. I've been sober since July 3rd, 2015. Grief is no joke.

i respect the plaintiff for being a nice person, he could’ve easily thrown his stuff out but chose not too. i also really respect the plaintiff for being so honest, it shows he’s truly trying to recover. praying for him, i hope he is able to fully grieve and continue his journey to sobriety.
also the judge was getting on my nerves lmao like she keeps asking the same question like he’s going to say something different.
I love how Douglas is like her bestie just hanging out near her and agreeing with her 😅
I don't think the defendant is completely a bad guy, I think his brain is just so fried from drug use.
You don't get fried from drug use unless you're doing it for 20 plus years and it also very much depends on the drug you're doing
@@alyssahamlett His brain is clearly very damaged.
@@alyssahamlett the last part of your sentence tells me you might not be as dumb as I thought you were. You started off terrible your brain can absolutely become fried from drug abuse within a matter of weeks and months! We don’t know what drug he was doing it probably is fried. I hope he gets help I wish him the best
@@Lolalenice wow your comment was absolutely rude as shit but I absolutely know what I'm talkin about and I don't need your validation thank you
If you pull 3 DWIs in my state within a ten year period it’s considered an automatic felony.
What state is this? Man the other 49 need to adopt it.
I’m from Texas and your 3rd DWI is a third-degree felony and up to 10 years in prison. Hence the saying: “Don’t Mess with Texas”
As it should be.

Those were some great concerts!!
I highly doubt the defendant is actually clean & sober, based on his demeanor.
That defendant needs to grow the Hell up.
The defendant has an excuse for all his woes, but his mother dying has nothing to do with his alcoholism, he needs to accept responsibility for everything he has done before he can start to heal. He says he can't remember much from back then, but then denies backing the Uhaul into the fence, but then repeats he can't remember much from back then...
Well said.
What a lovely man. Trying to help the young guy every step of the way.
He was obviously not happy. As he didn’t comment after the verdict. His Mums stuff obviously didn’t mean that much to him.
This is the first time I've seen someone who not only forgot most of the details of why they're being sued, they also forgot what they were countersuing for lmao. Think he might've left his brain at home that day
That was the weirdest court case. Those guys were oblivious. I don't understand how they go through the world.
Just like all millennials, and most of the current generation.
@@Queenie_78 ah yes, all millennials are clueless even tho they make up the majority of the working age now…
@@yoongiswndrlnd Bahahaha Hahahaha thats funny 😆 thanks for the Monday laugh 😂hilarious 🤣🤣
@@Queenie_78 you realize millennials are aged 27-40 right? 💀
@@yoongiswndrlnd Ah you got the first part of your sentence correct ( if you actually used punctuation) and I think you have them confused with generation X
JM, to file in small claims you DO have to file in the county they reside in. So her saying 'no you don't' is a lie. I physically had to travel to LA from TX to file on a debt a former friend failed to pay me back on. I could not do it in my town where I live, because evidently the incident did not take place in my town, it took place in his town.
That makes sense. She said he files where it took place, which was plaintiffs city. Not where plaintiff lives now.
This case should’ve been on Judge Judy
right @ 7:39-7:45 of course he cannot remember when he got the second DUI.
he got free storage for months while also not paying rent
Yup...SMH
Plaintiff is pretending to be patient at first , he's obviously got that queens tude 🤣
Right! He said he messaged him on July 14th I'm like that's not even a month. 😂
Unbelievable how patient Judge Milian was with the defendant and rather harsh towards the plaintiff. I think this young man is extremely selfish and used to manipulating people...all those excuses, there's always a death of a relative involved too (drug/alcohol related too?). She should've yelled at this punk!
Yelling is a sign of verbal and emotional abuse. Yelling is both unacceptable and unconstitutional.
@@judgeholder8112"unconstitutional"? LMFAO

Some of you his MOM Died?!
I am sorry how many mortgage free/rent free months should he get?
You paying that for him?
The Plaintiff is the worlds nicest guys in the world while the defendant is the worlds dumbest guys 😂
I'm here My Beloved Brother. Continue to speak the TRUTH !!! Black Power !!!***ASHAY ***
My parakeet is more responsible and smarter than this clueless defendant. "Did you file a counterclaim? Duuuuuuuhhh....I donno!"
🙄
What a band line-up! Great taste in music
I feel bad for the defendant, I hope he gets his life together soon. Unfortunately personal issues are no excuse to burden others.
Don't let his story sway u. He has always been trouble. It's not his mommy passing.
The Defendant is in a major BLACKOUT during this court proceeding.
And who got screwed up bcz he was the nicest landlord ever? The niceset landlord.
Plaintiff is too good for this world ❤
Ahhhh.....the good old days!
Shoot rent is not that cheap in Arkansas. We may be a small state, but they are charging New York prices for older apartments/homes and it’s insane lol
Same everywhere. I know you be like for "whaaaat?! What's here yo justify these prices?!" I know I am scratching my head in VB asking the same.
Why would you award him $100 for something you said you have no proof of? Oh just throw that in he’s done everything else.
He puts the photos in an album ! 😂bless
The loss of a parent will do that to you. Our parents had a chance to live without us but when you have to live without them…it’s devastating. I lost both of my parents in 14 months and I haven’t been the same since.
Defendant has a catchy name like a superhero. Blake Burns.
Wow, Mr. Judge. You saw some of the best bands ever. How exciting
When my mom died unexpectedly, I was swallowed by grief a decade. Got on drugs (pills) to numb the pain. I've been sober since July 3rd, 2015. Grief is no joke.
The plaintiff strikes me as the type of guy who believes " Life is like a box of Chocolates" 🤣🤣 P. S. Happy Valentine's Day Ladies ❤
The plaintiff is WAY too nice and the defendant is nasty, irresponsible, clueless and probably blacked out due to all of his drinking....so he's vigorously denying things he just can't remember. What a mess. Goes to show no matter how accommodating and empathetic you are, you can't fix a dysfunctional disaster of an individual who accepts zero accountability for his f-ups.
Why is she being so rude and mean to the defendant.. kid has admitted he had a substance abuse problem.. like I feel as tho she tries to be like Judy sometimes.. the kid has been respectful no need to be so rude to him.. obviously losing his mother did a number on him
I’m starting to dislike her. The poor defendant lost his mother and judge Milan was scolding him. I didn’t like it at all. I’m glad someone else see what I saw during watching the case. I feel so bad for him.
Because he was behind on rent and there was no need to be that cruel.
Why do Judge milian never understand why ppl are nice. She must live in paranoia that everyone is out to get her....😢sheesh, what a way to live.
I'm probably going to Hell for laughing a little too hard when Judge MILIAN basically asked the plaintiff if the defendant's mom died again.....
It’s hard losing a loved one. Especially hard when it’s a parent. I do feel for the kid.
Well let's be real!!!!!
When I got divorced going through all that!!!! I got a DUI on Monday and a second one Thursday same week!!!!
I didn't need rehab and be a whining crybaby!!!!!
I took instantly response ability for my actions!!!!!
Grow up crybaby!!!!!! Rehab people
There is a brand new study that says when parents or anyone else say things like, grow up, man up, wake up, or woman up, that’ll make anyone feel more depressed, anxious, fearful, shameful, resentful, scared you name it. I personally don’t believe in tough love because I find it to be too harsh and cruel and I’ve seen people especially litigants feeling demeaned, demoralized, voiceless and powerless. Calling somebody a crybaby isn’t nice at all. That’s bullying and harassment. The poor defendant is going through a lot and he doesn’t need your toxicity in his life. Please cut some slack on him. Have a good 1.
