Thanks for showing Nav screen. Most YT video demonstrations dont show Nav. Also had same prob w/ G Maps only showing my location. Would like to see a half screen Nav. 3 things most people need, Nav, Phone, and Music. Dont want to constantly hitting buttons while driving and flipping thru screens. Having Voice searches and actions is a must while driving. Should be able to adjust Google Maps volume by tapping the 3bars on upper LS, when on directions, then Navigation. There only 3 volume settings. Using Nexus 7 2013 tablet. Hotspot to Moto G phone, BT to BluAnt S4. 7" LCD attached to mirror for 3 cameras.
What I love about my new Joying Snapdragon unit is that it has split screen. So it's like Android Auto, but in native, so it's Android Auto on Roids. So you can split with just about anything you want.
Nah I mean the area in the side of the clock and where the artwork of the music is I've found that occasionallyby sliding my finger up and down the screen it can actually adjust the volume. I've also noticed that occasional by sliding left to right I've been able to fast forward or rewind seek the playing song. Just can't work out exactly how I did it.
That's the Gesture setting in Car Launcher... You can set that up the way you want... Two finger swipe, etc. Although this works on mine briefly, the Joying root setting revert it back to what ever it was previously set to.. This is particularly annoying, as the maps voice directions is set to 40% of what main volume is, and can not be changed, so it is always way to quiet..
I've been using the native music player and radio app that come on Car Launcher Pro and the only audio controls on the home screen that work are the volume buttons that I added. Next track, previous track, play button, the song play time I added (0:00/0:00), none of that stuff works. The colorful equalizer display only starts changing once I hit the play button. The album cover doesn't show either. I installed Pi Music Player because that's what I use on my phone, but I still haven't figured out how to load songs onto the head unit. I've been playing music straight from my external hard drive that's connected. Maybe I'll try Poweramp and see if the controls start working.
As far as the launcher goes, that shouldn't be happening. All my feathers work, and work well. What head unit do you have? And you should be able to copy your music from a USB drive to the internal HD. How, would depend on your model head unit. But I just add a file explorer app like Astro or FX and bipass the OE file explorer. It's usually clunky and hard to navigate.
@fordsixhoe1184 I have a Joying 8". Poweramp works well and I got the music loaded, so it's all good now. I don't even listen to music that often so it was never a huge deal, but it's nice to have it working. I never did get the album art to display on the home screen and only the volume buttons still work, but that's enough for me, at least for now lol. Thanks!

What do you mean by background? Do you mean Launcher? If so, you have to choose Carlauncher Pro as your launcher. Most times all you have to do is choose it in the CLP settings under Car Launcher (first setting) and choose. In this unit, I had to do that, then go into the OEM settimgs the the passworded setting and find the setting for launcher and choose CLP there as well or else it would revert back. On my new Joying HU, I didn't have to do that, only choose it in CLP settings.

Yes. You can set a default, but really, what ever app you currently have it set to, will stay. Radio, what ever streaming app. Doesn't matter. Then if you wish to play something else, just go to your app drawer and choose.
If your asking within Car Launcher Pro, you can add volume buttons, but it won't always work with some HU. Depends if the HU let's Android handle it, or if thier rom handles it. My Head unit has volume on the bottom of the screen, up top on the right, and on the side panel on the left, plus SWC controls so no need for it.

I think at some point Waze fixed the volume issue, as I haven't had an issue and totally forgot about it.

You sometimes have to turn it on in android settings I permissions under Google maps, drop down should have a switch for PIP

This is CarLauncher Pro, it's just one of the themes that comes with the Pro

Yes I know, this was recorded straight from my HU and it was on the HU internal mic. Just have to turn up your volume.
