Love your videos they have helped me and my teenage son out so much as well as choosing the right planes. We are still pretty newbies to the new school planes. I used to fly the old cox glow rtf planes back in my teenage years. Is there anyway you could make a video on how to configure safe with specktrum transmitter on non safe pnp plane? If you could would help out greatly and would be much appreciated, and sure would help your overall newbie audience as well! Thanks again!!
Just a quick comment on your hand launch. If you setup a throttle cut on a right side switch, you can set the throttle where you want it with your hand and get the plane ready in your left. When ready to launch just flick the switch and toss. No more throttle stick in the mouth. Your right hand is holding the transmitter so you have your thumb on the aileron and elevator controls as you launch. If launching a rear prop model, flick the switch AFTER you toss so you never have to worry about the prop biting you on the way by during the toss.
I love that you mention the Creator in your videos, that's wonderful and I really mean it. Also your videos are very joyful. It's so wonderful to watch.
Big gliders have their appeal, for certain, and this one looks like a winner. I recently acquired an old Hobby King BFG 2600 glider (over 8.5' wingspan). It's a smooth and relaxing flyer, and definitely has presence in the air. One thing I have to watch with it, though, is my altitude. Last time I flew it, I put the GPS logger on it, and found that I was higher than I'd thought. My Calypso isn't as much a problem with that, as being smaller, I keep it lower so that it's easier to keep in view.
By competing with others on 10 second motor runs combined with a target fight times of anywhere from 2 to 10 minutes per round of competitions is what really brings and frosters excitement of competitive thermal hunting found in no other RC flying. 10 times more fun than any other type of RC flying.
I pulled the trigger on this today. After a long week of windy fall'like weather prevented much flying of anything in my hangar I realized I needed a glider again. The Conscendo is okay in the wind, but I've had two that came to unfortunate ends when control surfaces failed at high speed. This should be closer to a pure glider experience. I looked at all the other gliders out there right now and chose this because I trust Arrows, and most of the glider models out there are older designs.
Very good review Nate, to bad you didn't show how well this glider thermals or slope soars, it really hold it's own in a good thermal. We took two of them up to Indiana Dunes State Park on the Southeast corner of Lake Michigan in Indiana and sloped soared them, what a blast, never once had to turn the engines on, we stayed aloft for over 20 minutes, had to land was getting a kink in my neck. As always Abby, great job on the camera.....
Great vid. I love mine too. It will drop a wing very easy if you are not careful, and that horizontal needs tape or glue for sure! I fly mine with a 2200 3 cell and it will fly all day.
2000 mm is also 2 metres, which at least to everyone outside the US, sounds more sensible. And, of course, a metre is just a little over an Imperial yard. It looks like a nice plane, and reminds me of the gliders I used to fly in when I was in Royal Canadian Air Cadets (RCAC). Those things are designed for stability, which is why so much pilot training gets done on gliders. If you have ever heard of the "Gimli Glider", the pilot who safely landed the Boeing 767 which had ran out of fuel, in part, because of using the wrong units (mixing Imperial and Metric). The pilot, Captain Bob Pearson, was a former RCAC who had gotten his glider's license while in Air Cadets, and that training allowed him to successfully land a deadstick 767 from 35,000 feet on a former Royal Canadian Air Force base's runway that had been decommissioned and turned into a drag strip. There are lots of videos about this incident here on RUclips. Worth checking out if you are interested in awesome piloting.
I ordered a Conscendo after watching yours and others videos on it. Hand launching has proven to be quite easy. Hold it up at about 50 degrees up. 3/4 throttle and simply let go. Flies right out of my hand. I did put a couple of pieces of the hook portion of Velcro on each side of the fuselage to aid in gripping the plane. After watching this video I am certain I will be ordering this plane. Thank you
It's great. They have fun with so many aspects of rc, but this is mellow. Homegrown husband & wife team that pleasantly present a super side to simple evening powered glider flights. I know how cool a decent glider is with flaps. Great time here!
I think sailplanes are so pretty in the air. I recently purchased the Conscendo as my second plane after my Sport Cub S2 had a receiver/ESC problem giving me intermittent loss of elevator. The Conscendo is super easy to fly on SAFE. This Arrows is a full half meter larger. Maybe it'll be my 3rd plane.
Oh you don't own anything Arrows yet!?! Yes! This would make a great first, bit the Bigfoot would too! It's crazy how much I like my Bigfoot. If you do order this, or another, please consider using our link. Either way though, Happy Flying! You'll love this RC 👍😁😎⚓
I sure am craving an entry level short course truck round up video since you guys have that 2WD Slash laying around. Little comparison video between the likes of that Slash, ECX Torment, Arrma Senton Mega, Redcat Blackout, Losi 22S and of course the WLtoys 12423 for good measure. Im pretty sure the WLtoys slays them all for the money.
Could you make in the future glider videos with zero throttle low close high speed coming out of a dive fly byes so we can hear how the plane “whistles?😀
Happy to do it when I know it's a great RC or thing! Please let me know what you think after a couple flights. I just flew my Consciendo today, and have to say, I'm excited to fly this Arrows again! 👍😁😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors I've been flying the Conscendo EVO for a couple months now. Love getting 30 minute flights with only 2 minute run time on the motor. Hoping the Arrows flaps will help with landing speed and the larger size will make it a little more visible at 399.9' up.
Yes, I can already tell you confidently that the flaps slow this down WAY more than landing the Consciendo. Meaning less airfield required to land!! Woot! 👍😎⚓
Beautiful plane. Every aspect of it looks rock solid. I’ve never had a glider, but I see that soon changing. As for purchasing this from Hobby Zone. You can’t go wrong. I have bought 4 planes from them this summer. Dan & Bob are the greatest to deal with. Awesome customer service. Plus they are only an hour and a half away from our home in Wisconsin. Loved the video. Very informative and enjoyable as always. Thank you both. God Bless. Got to have this one. Did you hear that Santa 🎅?
@@TheRcSaylors I got mine today, probably the easiest assembly I've ever done. No screws, no glue, one push rod. I installed a Spektrum AR630 receiver and it was ready to fly inside 15 minutes. I'll maiden it tomorrow.
Okay, maiden started out pretty well but the CG was tough to nail. Then disaster, the right Aileron servo stripped out and did the free-spin and the plane nosed in at a pretty good speed. Surprisingly there wasnt any damage except the battery hatch broke its tongue when the fuselage flexed and it popped off. Hot glue easy fix. I talked with Hobby Zone and they had no problem sending a new servo, and were very nice. I always have replacements on hand and I didnt want to wait so I installed the good stuff. A Freewing metal gear. This time instead of a 2200 I used a 1300 battery, wow! It has lots of power to climb and then just glides forever. Landing is easier too with less inertia. Super happy, this plane is exactly what I was hoping it to be.
This definitely 1 plane I'm going to look into and buy! I've been looking at a lot of gliders from all of the Volantexs to the consendo I know I spelled it wrong lol and the eachine gliders and for the money I'm sure I'll get this. Nate you sold me on the hand launch I'm like you I don't like to do it but this plane just lifts out of your hand great video guys be safe Marty from Canada 🇨🇦🛩🛩
Hello, this beautiful Arrows glider is between the FMS ASW-17 and the Conscendo Evolution, but it is not as good a glider as the FMS ASW-17 or as good a aerobatic as the Conscendo Evolution. It is certainly beautiful and has a good price.
Check out the E-flight Ultrix 600, its not a glider but has SAFE tech to use to aid you while you learn and has a really wide performance and agility envelope... and can land slow.
Very cool review, I really want to get one of these but I still haven’t bought a transmitter and receivers for the last two planes I bought after watching your videos. Would like to see a review on the fox 3000mm aerobatic glider
WOW!! It's like a "RACING" glider!! Abby's right, it would be a challenge to chase with drone, but what FUN to see!! Does the cleavis (sp?) run sequential or parallel to the flap???😆😆 Thanks Saylors for another HONEST review!! 💟👍😘
One of my wings was very hard to insert too, the last 3mm, so much so I have left it in, I daren't try to pull it out. My tail plane too is rather held in with a wing and a prayer so good idea about blob of glue though have flown few times with no issue. Hand launch, mine actually flies out of my hand ! a lob isn't necessary :-)
Hi There RC Saylors, My neame is Chuck. My wifradn I have been with RC Groups for moree than 25 years. I have one of the older Radian's that I just sold for more than I had into it.. So I love my planes up to a point of time to get rid of fthem. I have an old pusher that I have flown for more than 70 flights and it is still as solid as ever so it is still a good plane, I love it . Take caree and keep fly'n OK?? I hae been looking at getting a Concendo V3, What is your take in this plane? Chuck
Two or three more persons - is that for each winglet, or for both combined? A make or break point to those of us who have to take five more people to the field.
Nice glider, though not much/ any gliding 😁🤗. You said solid second vs beginning plane. Could you install a safe & make it a soft beginner ❓😏😏. Looked up Cuban 8. Apparently it was accidentally discovered/ invented in 1936 @ a Cuban airshow by an American. There is also a reverse 8 & a half 8. Can you do either of those. ❓. Nice flying, Nate you should follow & let Abby get her Glider on.😄😄😉😉. ⚓⚓👍💚💛💜👍⚓⚓.
With SAFE this would make an awesome first plane! The only down side is hand launching, but honestly it is very easy to do on this RC. Ill have to look up the half 8 ... sounds like a loop!?! Lol! Also, I need to learn a couple new tricks. Maybe it is time!! 👍😁😎⚓
Oh that is easy. This flies way better than the Radian. Easy. The only reason I like the Radian are the two reasons you aren't interested in it, lol. I love my Night Radian for it's awesome lights. This plane though, has me legitimately excited to fly it again! 👍😁😎⚓
That would be a ideal glider to fly at the beach with the ocean breeze that glider would be ideal to lauch with the ocean breeze and could probably get in the thermal and gise as long as the res battery power t work the flaps and rudder.Think that's a perfect glide to use in my area.Only question can Abby fly it?I believe she could with a little practice will only make her even a better
I love your videos I've watched almost all of them im into anything rc i got boats crawlers and bashers but i can't hold back from starting to fly with all these cool videos what's and good starter plane bieng that i've never flown before??? bin watching tutorials but i know the real deal will be way different
Looks like their isn't much surface area on the wings to catch thermals? What has been your experience with it? It reminds me of the version from Volantix
We've flown hundreds of planes and this would have to be in the top 1% in size of all of them. I realize the hobby has changed a lot over the years, and respect what it used to be! I'm also guessing your phone used to have a rotary around the time you were flying these big planes too, and now your phone is more powerful than what NASA was launching into space then too! 😉😁👍⚓
Im not a huge fan of hand launching either. Broke the nose off my umx a10 hand launching (easy fix). Pilot error though. I have it figured out now with that plane. I dont have anywhere with a paved runway soo hand launching is necessary if I want to fly.
Guys I've been watching your channel from day one. It's been about 25 years since I've flown an rc airplane. What's a good radio to buy at a great price? I will probably buy this plane as my first in many years. Keep up the great work! Love your channel.
If your looking for the cheapest but also one of the best for its price and performance, Flysky Fs-i6x £53.. a no brainer. If your budget can stretch to about £150 then the Radiomaster T16 S....😉
@@christiansrcs7789 Yeah you don't really find brushed anymore, everyone has went to the more modern and more reliable brushless motors. You could upgrade that old airplane
Absolutely could be flown purely as a glider on thermals. I have a really bad tendency to fly with power. Kinda like the old challenge, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop!? Lol 😂👍😁⚓

Ooh, thank you very much! Welcome aboard! 👍😁😎⚓
You've never owned a Volanex Phoenix 2m Motor glider. Basically the same except blown plastic fuselage.
I love this! Would you recommend this for a beginner??
Maybe a solid second airplane 👍😁😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors so, what would be the first?
Looks like it's heavier than the same sized radian? I can always remove the wheels though and ditch the LIPO for a Li-ion
Nice!!! Just wish it had safe.
It easily can if you throw in a Spektrum reciever 👍😁😎⚓
There are lots of stabilization systems out there but a plane like this doesn't really need it, even for a beginner
How do you think it compares to the radian (lights and SAFE not considered, I wouldn't use either)? Which flies better?
Nice😍😍😍
Now, that is a BIG wingspan ..... !!!
Guys, any chance of testing FREEWING jets, mainly ...... F16-C ?
Cheers !
Nice
My second hand Volantex Phoenix 2000 (version 1) glider has flaps.
That fuselage looks exactly the same as the FMS Fox 2300.
Great flying but we need to see more Abby.
I must be old, 6.5 foot GIGANTIC !!! 30 years ago that would be considered average at best.
Radiomaster tx12
@@ab7rs yes..or one of those. 👍🏼
High altitude fpv with that one...
That would be super fun! 👍😁😎⚓
Is it brushless?
Absolutely 👍😁😎⚓
Everything is brushless
@@ab7rs someone gave me an old airplane for like 1 years ago and that was not brushless
The plane doesn’t work any more
@@christiansrcs7789 Yeah you don't really find brushed anymore, everyone has went to the more modern and more reliable brushless motors. You could upgrade that old airplane
I have the same shirt. Y'all ever visit Lake Cumberland?
Can it be purely flown as a glider on thermals, or does it need powered flight
Absolutely could be flown purely as a glider on thermals. I have a really bad tendency to fly with power. Kinda like the old challenge, how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop!? Lol 😂👍😁⚓
At 4:58 what else was in the upper-right picture when Nate started the roll?
hi I want to buy this plane can you tell what receiver you use and where can I buy the receiver please thanks love your video on RC planes I will support your channel
So I was flying on a Tactic receiver. Pretty old, but reliable set up. Do you have a transmitter for planes or are you just getting started?
@@TheRcSaylors I have the nx8 transmitter can you please give me a link to buy the receiver as well I love to buy this plane thanks
