Luvely grub! We have great fish and chips in Australia but you have the edge on this food!! Curry gravy. I have bought in our supermarket and will give it a go. And I love the mushy peas!! I watch the bloke from Whitby doing reviews. My mouth waters watching yo guys!! Watching and waiting for your next review!

The Lifeboat Fish Bar at the bottom of eastborough are the best in Scarborough, best haddock I've ever tasted
There’s a local chippy near where I live in ecclesfield Sheffield called the cottage fish bar and they do a special for £5.99 for that you get a good portion of chips, a small cod which Is a large portion of fish a choice of rissole, small sausage or a scallop and a side of either peas, gravy, Chinese curry you cannot go wrong all served in a large box they really do give value for money.
They also only open 3 days a week since Covid but are so busy over the 3 days Thursday, Friday and Saturday they do more than enough to cover there costs.
You've tried poppers you must try reynards top end of town reynards St Thomas's Street give it a go if anything they're a good chippy

Would never support a big chain like Papas when there's superb fish and chips in Scarborough, Papas might even be frozen imported fish
Its not a big chain is it? I went to Papa's in Skegness and it was far better than the other ones I've tried near the Front, which often just seemed to be churning out average food for a capitve audience and not caring about the quality

They're not overrated in my opinion. I thought their fish and chips in Skeg was the best I've had there, and cheaper than the ones nearby for a meal to share with my kids - I think it was £5.99 for chips, fish, mushy peas and a battered sausage.
They aren't exactly a big corporate chain - I can see online that they have 12 stores now, but most opened only fairly recently because they've been successful, which I think is fair enough. It also says they donate to charities like feeding the homeless. I'd be interested to know how many other chippies leverage their popularity to do that tbf
Penny Black Chippy (formerly Swifts) on Dean Road are pretty damn good in Scarbados. £7.49 is amazing. You would struggle to get fish n chips for less than a tenner in York!

Papa's restaurant has been permanently closed since 2022 because theyre so bad. Theyre an embarrassment to scarborough and fish and chips!

Not a bad price £7.49, but you should have left the pop. Water is far better and cheaper. Thought that the curry sauce looked really thin, it hardly stuck to your chips. The Lighthouse Fish and Chipsm must be really good if they can survive by jus opening three days in a week. As it is off the main drag, perhaps there aren't as many diving seagulls to snatch foos from unwary eaters.

Me and my partner went to winking willy's sat in and it cost us 40+ pound for 2 fish and chips and 2 pepsis ruthless a nearly had to ring 999 😅

Last time we were in Scarborough me and the misses went to winking Willie's for tea was very nice.
Bet the hotel your staying in is the grand 🤔
Also wonder if your off to the Scarborough Arms for your pub lunch that's where we all went when we stayed at the Scarborough penthouse for 3 nights was a nice stay 4 people 1 dog and all the tvs had the fire TV sticks in every room.
