    i got this as my first bike, zero expirience and here is what i think so far
    looks amazing (get compliments ALL THE TIME) this bike doesnt look great on videos or pictures, so i was pleased when i saw it in real life for the first time.
    sounds great, i have a full system and it is LOUD
    very fast : like i said, most people who have ridden 600s will lol at this but, i come from a 4 cylinder honda accord, this motorcycle is CRAZY fast. you twitch the throttle hard enough and your head snaps back... i love it, not to mention, passing cars is a breeze
    very light: when i first got it, i thought it was super heavy, but you get used to it and eventually realize how light and nimble it is.
    i got this motorcycle as a stepping stone into the sportbike world, and i will definitely keep this bike for as long as i live.

    My first 'big bike' was a FZR400RR, that bike taught me more about riding motorcycles than any other. Modern lightweight bikes are a bit tame compared to the 400cc grey imports of old but it's pretty cool to see this R3, it looks a right laugh in the twisties. Ringing the neck off small capacity motorcycles is great fun, I want one 😂

    I raced a GSXR1000 for years, but after experiencing a few SuperSport bikes, bought a Triumph 675 last year, and absolutely love it. Looking at this though, I think this would be even MORE craic around track, and can't help thinking of a entering a one make race series with a bunch of mates, all of us ripping the absolute bejaysus out of this thing on track! I started out on track years ago on an old CBR400 - I learned so much on that bike and still remember it fondly, out-braking 3 or 4 1 litre superbikes at a time in to every corner and just generally having a blast. Superbikes for road and track were just ego, the 600/675 class hits all the right buttons for me, but I'm struggling to think of anything more fun than flicking this thing around - on track or road (where we're in constant danger of losing our licenses as it is on litre bikes!).

    Who is criticising you for making videos about an R3 or smaller capacity bikes?? I'm 38 and own a Tracer 900 yet I'm far more interested in bikes like this than I would be in a Fireblade. It's a cool, I'd be happy to own one.

    This is a very fair an accurate review of the R3. As an owner of the 2015 model since it came out I am a little disappointed the braking is still an issue. I've had several moments on my R3 under full brakes wondering if it was ever going to stop.

    Even though I've been riding for 5+ decades and own/owned super bikes If I were to be a commuter in London again I should be well chuffed with the likes of this little beauty. The FZ/MT 07 is not far off weight wise and a whole lot more bike ( I do have one) that extra 30+ lbs. shed makes a lot of difference in traffic and filtering.

    I just got mine earlier this week and have put about 260km on it so far. First thing that I have noticed is that it is much louder than I have ever thought it would be from all the videos I have seen. I expected it to be quiet like my friend Ninja 300, but this R3 really has some growl going on, especially on low rpm. It is also much livelier on low rpm than I had expected, since it's peak torque and power come very high and while it is breaking in you are not really supposed to go over 6000rpm. That is what I have for now on it. It is better than I have expected it to be, now it just remains to see what I will think of it after 2-3 regular services.

    been riding for 35 plus years , owned all sorts , and just love bikes (thanks to No7 sheene !!) my ride to work is only 15 mins now , so last year decided to buy a little 125 chinese scooter , looks like a ducati 😂 chucked some graphics on it . looks like a motogp paddock scooter . £1500 new, £4 week in petrol and £20 a year to tax .put a proper pair of tyres on it , boom !! getting to work has never been so much fun , even some times use it for other stuff.. when i can’t be arsed to fire up the monster . But having been riding for so long , it’s only natural to give a small head nod to every biker , it would appear big bikes don’t nod to small bikes . not everyone on a scooter is out to nick a bike or rob a jewellery shop !! great review mate as always 👍👍❤️all 🏍

    In the US, seems like a lot of club racers are opting for the r3 and ninja 300 as an option for the race weekends. I know I am going to be one too, I moved fast on going up in bike size when I was new to riding but over the last years I keep going the opposite direction as it's more enjoyable riding less and less powerful bikes at the track. I sat on the 19' r3 at a dealership a while back and instantly loved the ergonomics. Also once I heard my buddies talking about the cost of tires during race weekends...r3 is sounding better and better!

    I've had an R3 for two years, and on the whole it gets nine out of ten. The brakes are not brilliant but you just have to ride accordingly and be aware of their limitations. The mirrors are poor but with cheap extenders they are much improved. On the whole a great bike for new riders who don't want to break the bank.

    Learners have so many options these days and better options at that. When I started "L" plates were a 250cc restriction. All the sensible learners (very few of whom in my circle of mates) were getting GPX 250s, and the rest of us were getting bikes like an RGV 250 or an RD/RZ250 (and fitting 350 barrels and pistons). No question the 660cc power to weight restriction of the new LAMS system (similar I believe to A2) provides better bikes to learn on such as the SV650XA, XSR700 or 390 Duke. Much as I still have some nostalgia for the 2-strokes, dealing with the comparatively short maintenance (top end rebuild) intervals, narrow power bands, 2-stroke oil and checking you haven't rattled your nuts off after every ride, probably isn't the ideal introduction to riding.

    I’d like to see how the current crops of 300-400 c.c. beginner’s bikes stack up against the 400 c.c. Japanese sport bikes from the late 80’s to early 90’s. I used to own a 1988 CBR400RR (Tri-Arm) back in the days. It was a very formidable race replica. I think it likely can give the modern 400s a good run their money. Hope Bike World would do a show comparing those old bikes (e.g. FZR400RR, ZXR400, GSXR400) to the current bikes like R3 or Kawasaki Ninja 400.

    • @tdunster2011
      @tdunster2011 5 лет назад +1

      Around a track is one thing as the RVF400 as an example can easily find 70hp at the rear wheel once you open up the exhaust , and has superior handling, brakes, and chassis - but when it comes to daily use, fuel range, cost of repairs, maintenance schedules and so on the old bikes just can't compete. I can leave my R3 for several weeks in the shed without riding it and yet it will start 1st time even with stale fuel and sub zero temps. Service charges for the R3 are under $500 for every 10,000km if you take it to a dealer - even less if you do it yourself. Tyre wear is around 15,000k for a rear, pads around 20,000km..... For an RVF400 you will be looking at well under 10,000 for tyres and servicing will be at least twice as often as an R3 or Ninja...

    2019 r3 vs Duke 390
    Which is best for track purpose..

    • @0Oo..oO0
      @0Oo..oO0 5 лет назад +1

      For a reasonable determining factor (not the Duke specific but similar package), watch WorldSBK 300 class racing. They are both good at the track. If you care about less maintenance and more reliability, the Yamaha probably makes more sense. If you need that cool factor, the KTM will get you some additional looks.

    I love living in the USA!!! Get a simple permit being 16 yrs old...You can hop on a 'Busa or R1 and let it rip!!!! Only an idiot would do that.. .but, you could do that if you were an idiot. But yeah, the R3 is a great bike. Thank you for the review. Couldn't imagine working up to a bigger license to ride a bigger bike. Maybe a bigger license plate would help.....Its the parachute effect. 🙂🙂🙂
