Ive had the R3 (2017) for nearly 2 years, done 12,000kms and it's my first bike without any prior experience with bikes. The only bad points are the spongy brakes and stock tyres. It also doesnt have a slipper-clutch like its competitors, however, it took time but it really forced me to improve clutch control and rev matching. Also fuel consumption is amazing when i commute for a uni student like myself. Best new beginner bike for the price imo!

@@melissaa2994 depending on your needs, I would choose the MT03 for daily commuting and long-distance travel and the R3 for track and not far commuting, because of sport seating position after 3-4 hours my back hurts on sport bikes anyway. But just try both of them, they are almost the same in size (MT3 wider a little, but R3 higher just a couple of cm), seats the same, R3 has slightly better aerodynamics, handlebar on clip ons, MT03 has a better fit and just usual naked look.
After my month of research all i knew from R3 vs R6 is that the R6 is way better and ill get bored of the R3. You really did hammer down some pros to getting an R3
An old 500cc Kawasaki would cost less, but not look as good and might need more maintenance. In the US the insurance is a lot more if you get a loan to pay for it, especially if you are less than 25 years old, to add comprehensive coverage. Beginner bikes often have a weak front brake and a long turn throttle to try to save them from their own inexperience.
i’m really thinking about whether i should buy an R3 or an R6 Because i’m 6’2 (189 Cm) So i’m afraid that i’m gonna be cramped on an R3 i just think the R6 is a little heavy for my first Bike. Is 6’2 Too Tall For an R3?
I weigh 85 kg. On a Gen 1 R3 I get 25km per litre if I ride it at the limit / bouncing hard off the limiter all day rarely dropping the revs below 9k rpm. 32km per litre if I just ride casually at the speed limit. You can get over 400km from a tank of fuel if you take it easy. You can ride like a maniac and still be confident of getting over 300km from a tank.
Keeping it fun as always, CC. If you ever need to test ride a 1st gen R3, let me know. Although you may need to buy a plane ticket & fly all the way to Malaysia first 😂
