Good review. My biggest issue is having to play as an annoying, cheesy operator again and the only good map is Trenchlines. But, it's free and I'm not gonna spend a single penny on it until they add soldiers.
I highly doubt Timi will add basic soldier templates, unless they hike up the price, operators/ hero characters sell after all, no matter how much we despise them as a concept
Its also just part of the addiction loop. If theres unsatisfying or annoying elements, mechanics or skins/operators your never left feeling fufilled. Hench why Apex or overwatch leaves ludicrously broken charecters in the game, call of duty keeps cheap completly unfair no skill mechanics in the game like dropshot and stims and battlefeild fills their game with divrse ugly operators. They puroposefuly leave irritating nonsensical crap in these games to keep you from feeling fulfilled and therefore always chasing that old high that we used to get when games were immersive and you could play a couple of hours, feel good and leave.
Particularly during the last Havoc Warfare stage, when the other team tries to retake or seize positions, Delta Force can be a little intense. To prevail on that battlefield, the player will use every tool at their disposal. In addition, I'm getting more interested in the open world map, which the game developer says is still in the development stage.
In spite of making a lot of the same mistakes as BF2042, it hits the most important things MUCH better: 1. Better extraction mode 2. Gunplay that isn't broken 3. WAY less bugs 4. Maps are WAY better (still not perfect and less interesting, but play way better with more cover etc)
Well it’s not like the core BF players care for an extraction mode anyway, they’re mostly invested in the Warfare mode, and that’s not looking very appealing, MMR, fast TTK, unbalanced operators, and far less appealing vehicle mechanics, just to name a few, and the maps are less interesting, little to no dynamic destruction, no variety in weather conditions and a lot more head glitching etc
Speaking of cosmetics, based on my experiences with CODM and PUBGM, it's highly likely that there will be a ton of events where you can get free skins, albiet, not-so-good ones... for most of the time. Also, there's likely going to be a currency players can earn for purchasing skins and such. Although, these are just based on my experiences with the aforementioned titles. Typically, Timi (the developers behind this game and CODM) are less snobby than Lightspeed when giving out free skins.
Actually working aiming, great gunsmith. Better ever version but slightly cheaper feel lacking the last polish. Can be fun or frustrating. Well worth the time to test if it feels good for you. Content and its own identity is indeed what the game needs. I don't want to go back to 2042 ever again but this game isn't yet quite ready.
MMR matchmaking isn’t going to help long term, weapon metas are already taking shape, no matter how many new guns are added every 3 months, along with the single new warfare map
And yet so many people are claiming this game is “better” than 2042, even the operators are “less cringe” 😂, but the numbers speak for themselves, pretty soon, if not already, DF’s player count will steadily decline, even when console and mobile drop early next year
I'm not sure if you remember when WarRock came out back in the day-it was an Asian clone designed to compete with games like Battlefield 2, Counter-Strike, and Combat Arms on PC, and it did pretty well at first. It was one of my favorite FPS games back then. However, after a while, another company bought it, turning it into a pay-to-win game that drove players away. Unfortunately, the game went downhill after that. It feels like history is repeating itself 😆
Had to drop DF as i don't get how the optimization of this game is terrible, how on earth on a i7 13th generation processor and a 4060 i get half the fps i get in 2042. At that point i might just play BF4 on the PS4
Regarding concerns for the game derailing due to typical Chinese greed, the likelihood of that happening is pretty damn high. Afterall, just look at what they did to PUBGM. It *used* to be a slow-paced and stressful game, now it's just another movement-shooter, and a *very cheap* one at that. PUBGM is so bad, the controls, audio quality, the visuals, map designs, skin designs, UI design, gunplay, modes, etc... are all *cheap* and outdated af.* And that's not all, the devs are putting *too much* focus in everything other than the core of the game, adding unsightly features, like creating houses similar to the ones you typically find in Chinese MMORPGs. Modern PUBGM is like a cheap Fortnite knock-off, with even less IQ-points put into it. Dev IQ is *so* low, they don't even know what the game should be anymore. There's not been a *single* MAJOR map, audio, visual, control, and animation overhaul in the game for almost half a decade. And during its unsightly disfiguration, many of its core and original players moved on, leaving the game to slowly rot into a random chinese game with the name "PUBG" on it.
Will Delta Force be sticking around?

Being a free game right now it’s in a fun spot. Could definitely become something great imo

It feels like these devs learned the wrong lessons from Battlefield 2042s failures. Nobody wants operators, we want basic customizable classes

Kernel level anticheat which runs 24/7 on your PC

The game is great 18hrs of Fun here
Personally I don’t care paying for skins it’s all cosmetics at the end of the day.
