On September 2, 1998 Swissair flight 111 was flying from JFK airport in New York to Geneva Switzerland, but just minutes into it’s flight. Pilots smell smoke coming from the back of the cockpit the flight immediately diverts to Nova Scotia Canada, but they never make it. The flight crashes into the sea, killing all 229 people on board.

My aunt worked in the US embassy in Halifax. She loved Peggy’s Cove, but it took her about 20 years to be able to go back because of all the friends and coworkers lost on this flight.

Im from saint Margaret’s bay it still has relevance in the community to this day I’d also like to point out the plane got to a very low altitude to the point that it shook houses as it flew over head it didn’t just nose dive it kept lowering its altitude as the crew had no clue where they were going they also dumped fuel all over east saint margrets school and some houses

There is another simulation that gives it a more realistic look. On the other one the plane doesn’t drop into the water. The plane actually starts to descend with the plane hitting nose first but the rest of the plane disintegrates.

There have been soooooooo many accidents that most RUclipsrs could show one. The person who says airplanes are safest is just measuring against distance, not against time…
Aviation is the safest because planes rarely crash. Compare it with a car or a coach that crashes everyday everywhere, just that it's not publicized. Plus aircraft accidents mostly are just small emergencies landings. Those are almost always survivable. The crashes where the plane falls out of the sky only happens once a year at this point which means only ~250 people has died from planes a year. People die more from trains if it's put like that.

If ur confused what happened on swissair flight 111 and don't know what happened pilots on a swissair plane where flying until one said they smelled smoke and the pilot that said they smelled it looked back and saw smoke the pilot started on the planes fans at the back they asked for the flight firefighter and the firefighter didn't see smoke the fans were then turned off. eventually the pilots said pan pan pan then the smoke eventually got the entire cockpit cabin and the pilots couldn't see until they saw the ocean but it was too late. they crashed no one survived. only evidence was the black box recording
Actually there was witnesses one was my great grand parents who were in a news paper talking about it as their house had been doused in jet fuel aswell as the east saint margrets school also many fisherman saw the lights and many peoples homes shook violently the plane also didn’t randomly nose dive it slowly lost altitude and since the planes instruments weren’t working they had no clue the altitude they were at and where they were going and that’s when the smashed into the water at over 500kmh I know this because I was from saint margrets bay and it’s still brought up in the community to this day
