"Dialing things back to Shadespire" is the vibe I'd been getting too, and I'm glad to see it TBH, for the reasons you mention. Can't wait to get my mitts on the game!
Completely agree with your comments about “ easy to build” models. I follow many Golden Demon winners who always trim the pegs on such models and they go together much easier without risking bending the details.
I dread that gap in the shoulder pads so I clip the pegs a few mm before gluing. I'm interested to see where I land on the continuum between warband-lost-flavour and streamlined-game-is-better!
If you take the time shaving the pegs of the models (I even shave a little bit of the end in each peg) you can really minimize the cracks visible, yes is a pain and you have to be careful not to shave too much but it's worth it
Great video guys! Need some advice. I have bought everything since Shadespire except for the warbands that were created with AOS figures I already had, it felt kind of crappy that I had to rebuy the minis I had to just get the cards. I have invested in card sleeves for every card, binders and holders for every card. 3d printed holders for every warband and storing all of this has gotten to be a chore. Now I find out that none of the boards and cards are compatible anymore. Is that true? I think I am done with underworlds. As good as this version looks I feel a bit put off for being a loyal customer and buying almost everything since the beginning only to be told nah, throw that stuff out, here is what you can only use now. How do the old minis work with the new edition? Where do you get new player cards and decks for them? Is GW planning on making me buy the minis again to get the cards? I am so lost and need and list of what is out, what is in and what is coming in the future before I jump in.
We may well do video on this but the short answer is. All the models should be useable in the new version but all the old cards and boards are now redundant. All warbands will have single-sided "Warscrolls" that will replace faction decks. Only 33 of these in the first instance will be tournament legal but GW have said that most of them will be downloadable. Decks moving forward are all universal cards. For deck building in the Nemesis format you'll be able to combine 2 rivals decks and pair them with any warband.
Thanks for the video. Your most intriguing observation is the judicious gaining of glory in this edition. I do prefer tighter games where victory points are challenging to score.
Really liking the look of this edition, as I have been away from the game for years, but I am getting this as it will revitalise my old collection (especially with just picking a faction and a rival deck and off you go). One question though, concerning the new boards, does this mean that we basically bin our collection of boards from previous sets, or can they still be used?
Unofficially you could probably work something out with your mates in casual settings. But any club nights and especially tournaments it’s a no. Were going to have a bonfire with ours 😄
@@AgentsofSigmar I will be doing the same with the large collection of cards too 🤣 Looking forward to GW putting the warband cards and warscrolls up for download (which I guess will be on the release date), so I can see what my collection will be looking like going forward. Lots of printing and sleeving to do for those 😉
Great break down guys! How would you split the box? That's my main issue, as me and a friend don't want to get x2 copies however with the x4 decks and a single board is pushing us that way but with the Lizardmen and other decks being availible soon i wonder if theres another way around it?
They could change the crits and adjust other significant rules without nuking the uniqueness of each individual character and without removing warband specific cards.
I suspect a large part of the reason for the reset was to reduce the overhead all that uniqueness created by a factor to ensure the game remained manageable, they’re not going to change things if what they’re doing is working are they
We never sleeve a single card, because card sleeves aren’t necessary it’s all a con and you’ve been lied to all this time. Unless it’s for a tournament…
Robin said "Never believe what you see on the Internet", wait until it's on the AOS RUclips channel
Great video guys! 👍😊
Thank you 🤗

Great video guys! I agree whole heartedly about it feeling like an old friend. Great analogy :)
Completely agree with your comments about “ easy to build” models. I follow many Golden Demon winners who always trim the pegs on such models and they go together much easier without risking bending the details.
It’s such a shame because they only need to reduce the peg size fractionally and it would be perfect
So happy to hear all the positive things about this new edition so far. Excited to see your guys’ games to really get a feel for it!
We’ll be live Tuesday! Come join us! 😄
The winter maw boards looked the best, the finish on those boards and tokens were the best!
Does that mean all my older boards are now useless?
And cards. Models are still valid though. But you can always keep it all and keep playing v1 with whoever wants to
Looking forward for gameplay!
Sounds like you are enjoying it :)
Definitely so far it’s been great fun
Do you have to use push fit or can you cut off the pegs and just glue them? Would that help with the seams?
you don't have to for most parts they line up pretty well on their own really.
I dread that gap in the shoulder pads so I clip the pegs a few mm before gluing. I'm interested to see where I land on the continuum between warband-lost-flavour and streamlined-game-is-better!
It’s a delicate balance. For us it’s definitely a winner but for some others, not so much I suspect.

That’s what I (Pete) usually do, it’s one instance of GWs incredibly accurate model design biting them in the arse
I just nip them off and use glue.
@@edwardmills4164 Same here, though I go a bit back and forth between methods
I find, usually most of the time, you wanna snip those pegs. Big gaps the pegs need snipping for sure! Always next time 🎉
Agree about the art on the cards. It's a bonus being able to identify the models when they are similar plus you get some painting tips!

@AgentsofSigmar Thank you for some clarification.

It could be the early decks and our lack of nemesis play so far but it feels less willy nilly with the glory gaining
I cut all the pegs off my push fit models and glue them. I hate push fit to be honest 🤬
I mentioned elsewhere. They only need to make the legs a small fraction thinner and it’d be perfect 😫

I can’t see a way unfortunately if you ever plan on playing other people

I’m excited to get my hands on this! Do the decks have just the exact amount of cards you need or are there extras for some additional choices?
Each of the four rival deck is a full deck of 32 cards, but then for nemesis you can combine any two
I started watching the unboxing and got the answer there as well. Thank you!
@@Cliff_the_hobbygeek you are welcome 😁
Does the rulebook have rules for multiplayer?
Nope they removed that but did say in a recent article they are working on alternative play modes one of which included multiplayer
